Clean, comfy & helpful staff, everything you'd expect from the YHA. Nice breakfast too. Yes it's a small kitchen & yes the parking is at the bottom of the drive but neither are things to put me off & can be worked around. Met some lovely people during my 2night stay.

Hi, Thankyou for your review. We are glad you had an enjoyable stay with us in spite of the small kitchen and walk up the hill ! regards, The Eyam Team.

We stayed here for the weekend with our 2 children age 4 and 6. The hostel is small and well kept, the room and bathroom was very clean. We ate our evening meal and breakfast both days which was great value (the evening meal children eat for free). One of our children has Coeliac disease and so we had requested...

Hi Jessica, Thankyou for your review. We are pleased that your child enjoyed their meal. We are always very careful to note allergies as this is a worry for both parents and adults alike. We hope to see you all again soon. Best wishes, The Eyam Team.

Upon arrival at the hostel, there were children running around everywhere, which was the first shock! Then had dinner to be totally surrounded by families, didn't realise how many young children there would be staying, and that they would be occupying all the social spaces which made them impossible to use. Was served dinner by a very crusty curly haired...

Hi, Thankyou for your review. We are sorry you had such a disappointing stay with us. Unfortunately you chose to stay during half-term week when we always have a lot of families staying. We rely on parents to contain any over-exuberance but this can be difficult when the children are excited about their visit. it is the ethos of YHA...

Hi, we are sorry you had such an unsatisfactory stay with us. The staff member on duty that night has been reprimanded for using an ipad while on a late night duty. We apologise for the fact that there were other children running around the hostel.

As a group of 4 families (8 children and 8 under 8s) we stayed here for 2 nights over the new year 2016. The staff could not have been any more welcoming, We were accommodated in 4 family rooms each with 2 bunk beds and a sink. It was all clean, tidy and the beds were comfortable. There are shared...

I had an excellent stay for 4 nights at YHA Eyam. I was self catered for all my meals so can't comment on the food. The self catering facility is outside, but not far and very clean. Tidy and well run little hostel with a gorgeous view and a couple of trails leading off from it. Beware the sharp ascent...

A smaller hostel than some of the others, but no less for that. The staff were very friendly and helpful, taking ages to describe routes for walks to one of our party, and lending him a book. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The building itself is lovely, being a turreted folly. Eyam is an interesting place, with lots of history...

Hi Victoria, Thankyou for your very informative review. We are pleased that you had such an enjoyable stay with us. We are indeed a little cramped for space both in the Main House and the Coach House outside, along with the self-catering kitchen and hope this did not detract too much from your experience. We look foreward to welcoming you...

I was in the "Bunkhouse" which is separate from the main building. Very neat and tidy 2-bed room, although a little small. It has a sink in the room and the shower and toilet are only a few paces down the hall and shared with only one other room. The bed and pillow were very comfortable. The main house is...

Great for walking breaks, nestling on the hillside above the legendary plague village of Eyam. Friendly helpful staff, nice food, decent rooms and facilities. Footpaths virtually from the door to the village or out into the wilds to explore. Great value. Definitely recommended.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This captivating Victorian folly resembles a tiny turreted castle perched on the hillside overlooking historic Eyam. Two thirds of Eyam's population was wiped out during the Great Plague. Trace the tale as you wander around the village, or enjoy the excellent walking around the surrounding White and Dark Peak. Delicious home-cooked meals are available at this fully licensed hostel, a great location for cheap weekend breaks and Peak District activity breaks. ... more   less
