#2 of 2 Speciality lodging in Ollerton
Our purpose-built, self-contained, and simply stunning studio cottages make a perfect base for those wanting a home away from home whilst in the heart of the Nottinghamshire countryside. Located in the garden of Maun River Cottage, a 17th century farmhouse and beautiful family home that has been welcoming guests to its B&B for over 25 years, designed and built in 2014 to complement the 17th century farmhouse. With dark wooden beams, an open plan living and dining area, stylish and fully equipped kitchen and en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and freestanding rolltop bath, these self-catering holiday lets are small but perfectly formed! Each cottage has bi-folding patio doors that open onto a private seating area within the garden. With stunning rural views over the River Maun and the fields beyond it, the garden boasts an artificial lawn meaning it can be enjoyed all-year round, whatever the season. We offer flexible sleeping arrangements with the option of one king-size or 2 single beds. There’s also an original, restored beautiful red telephone box adding to the sense of heritage and pride this property exudes. A generous welcome and continental breakfast basket awaits you, and Alan and Theresa are often around to share local knowledge of the best places to visit, the best routes to get you there and point you in the direction of the best pubs and restaurants all within walking distance!

We stayed for two nights (9th & 10th June 2021) at one of these excellent two cottages set beside the fast-flowing, clean river Maun. They are brilliantly designed with everything you could ask for in a self catering stay or just a base and eat out with many local choices. The furnishings have been given a great deal of thought and the gardens were delightful with private sitting areas. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. Off road parking is handy. A particular bonus was a wonderful breakfast basket with plenty of choice. The owners have put an enormous amount of thought into this accommodation and I highly recommend it.

My brother and I have just arrived back from a couple of nights relaxation at this wonderful riverside studio cottage. Everything was superb from the minute we arrived to the time we left, our host Theresa who was on hand to meet us was so nice and engaging and the accommodation was faultless. The added treats were very well received and we can't wait to get back for another visit. The views are lovely and the whole experience was top drawer.

We had another fantastic stay Theresa was as lovely as always. Theresa had put in place a fantastic safe stay all guidelines were followed to a very high standard leaving hand sanitiser and wipes for us to keep safe. She had put towels in a sanitised bag and we felt as safe as we would at home thank you Theresa. Best place to stay in the area.

Stay here regularly with work. Theresa is a great host and always very helpful. The house is immaculate always. Just had my first stay under coronavirus restrictions and there are clear but unobtrusive protocols in to ensure its safe.
