Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Julie & Mark run this amazing B&B alongside their sheep farm. (I know, I never got a photo of the sheep... just some chickens & goats!) The room was enormous, with a massive ensuite. The evening meal & breakfast home produced and excellent! I've never had sheep's milk yoghurt before... I love it! The nicest couple you could ever have hosting you. (*Do follow the directions given... this gem is off the beaten track but the info given by Julie & Mark is spot on.) Thank you both!

We had a fantastic time staying here with friends. Julie and Mark were so accomdating and great company. The food was delicious - all home made, and very inspirig food. They were really flexible and great fun. The scenery is gorgeus and the place is so picturesque :)

My wife and I stayed the evening in the farm house, falling asleep to the quiet of the country - lovely! Julie set out breakfast in the garden for us, and both Mark and her took time to have breakfast with us, exchange a few stories, and enjoy the morning before raking hay! Thanks so much for your hospitality, we had a wonderful time!

Farmer Mark and lovely Julie offer what most of us only ever dream of: picturesque, wholesome country living filled with the most glorious home grown fare. Julie is, without doubt, one of the best cooks we have ever met and mealtimes very quickly became the highlight of each day. Farmer Mark kindly showed our children around the farm and is still talked about by our six year old. We cannot recommend Tondes highly enough if you are looking for a relaxed, picturesque, wholesome experience.

Tondes is a working farm and you immediately feel very part of it. First there is the warm welcome from Julie and Mark. Then you become amused and amazed at all the activity, the free range chickens, the baaing of the sheep, the goats in the pen etc. You are brought to your clean comfy room and prepare for drinks and apertifs in the garden. We had dinner both nights which was wise as Julie is a marvelous cook. You feel so at home and the conversation is enjoyable and informative. Bring a favorite book as Julie is an avid reader and loves to share her favorite choices with you.

We were recommended to stay at Tondes by an estate agent when we were looking for a house to buy in the area. It was good fun staying on a working farm, e had an excellent time, our hosts were very welcoming and friendly and the food and wine was exceptional. Their advice and help was so good that we bought a house in the area. We would highly recommend it for a stay in S W France. Chris & Steve

Wonderful hospitable hosts nothing is too much trouble. Excellent food with much of it- jams, sauces, bread made from scratch by Julie. Yoghurt made with their sheeps milk - wonderful and yummy!.All this in beautiful countryside, tranquil and picturesque, in a lovely home with the most relaxing atmosphere. First discovered this over 10 years ago on our honeymoon and have been back many times every time we visit France we make a special journey to Julie and Marks. Highly recommended looking forward to our next trip already!

This place is a true Gem, Mark and Julie make you feel very welcome. Found in Alistair Sawday over 10 years ago. This was our 3rd visit and standards have remained very high, the food which Julie serves is outstanding and worth a visit on its own. Flying from Bergerac for a long weekend is an excellent break from the Uk. After a day sightseeing arrive back to tea and cake. Don't eat too much, dinner is 4 courses. Aperitifs and canopies are served under the veranda with candles. Followed by aubergine and goats cheese starter, the meat and veg served for the evening meal has been grown or fattened up on the farm. We had duck for dinner which was delicious followed by fromage and a tart. Mark is told to keep the wine flowing while Julie is in and out of the kitchen bringing the food out. If you are a foodie you would love this place. I would highly recommend it to friends.

We came across this B & B back in 2001 via the Alistair Sawday book, and what a find it has been! We have returned each year since, either for a few days or overnight en route to and from the South of France. Always a warm welcome, excellent and plentiful meals (much produced on the farm) and tranquil setting make it a "must". Julie is a great cook and host, and dinner talk is always entertaining. Lovely walks from the farm and pretty places to visit near by including the wonderful Moissac Roman Cloisters complete the visit.
