We were recommended to use Colledges House, as recommendation is probably the best accolade that can be awarded we were not disappointed. We had the twin room in the annexe which was delightful. There is a double room just across the landing which vacant on our visit. The English breakfast was superb, prepared by Sarah. To have a choice of bread and the use of a toaster, meant that we had freshly prepared toast to compliment our meal. The use of the Lounge and Conservatory made it feel as tho we had booked a suite, not just a bedroom. We cannot recommend Colledges House highly enough for a thoroughly peaceful nights sleep. Oh, The Countryman pub was definitely worth a visit, the food was really good, booked so kindly for us by Mrs Jarrett

Liz's house is gorgeously decorated, has two splendid drawing rooms - one hosting an exquisite vintage piano available for playing - a very nice conservatory, a secluded and cosy garden and a number of very nice and welcoming bedrooms. Everything in the house and all the rooms are wonderfully clean, all the materials, including sheets and covers, are of the highest quality. Needless to say, food is also great, and in one word one would really have a hard time to find any defect in this place, or just something to improve. Nonetheless, after meeting Mrs. Liz and having talked for just one minute with her, you immediately realize that the primary reason to spend some time in this place is not just to enjoy the magnificent house, but to have the opportunity to talk to her, and to feel if you were friends since ever given her warm, loving and welcoming attitude: she really makes you feel that she's enjoying your visit and to share her place with you. My wife and me stayed only for one day but can't see the timw to be back again! Nicola, Italt

I stayed at Colledges House for many years on a weekly basis, whilst working locally. Being away from home so frequently I wanted somewhere that I could call home. Not one of those impersonal places that was just a place to rest your head but somewhere with character, charm, comfort and above all, friendly. I found all of the above in abundance at Colledges House. The house is the home of Liz Jarrett, which she shares with her guests (her home is your home). The house is a grade 2 listed thatched cottage in the village of Staverton, tucked away and enclosed within lovely gardens. There are two rooms in the house and two in the barn conversion (also within the garden) The bedrooms are really quiet and extremely comfortable (down pillows and duvets) all with bathrooms and furnished in keeping with the house. Quite a lot of the furniture are family pieces. The adjacent cottage has a lovely lounge area and adjoining conservatory (should you be blessed with sun). Outside table and chairs provide a lovely area to enjoy a glass of wine pre or post dinner. I have met many interesting guests over the years (lots from overseas) and many who return regularly, which is testament to Liz's eye for detail and genuine consideration of her guests (you need to chat with Liz, she has led an extremely interesting life and is full of stories). Meals are served in the main house in a lovely dining room (fine china, silverware and linen napkins are the standard here) Everything you read and see on the Colledges House website is absolutely true. It was good to be back to my home from home.

Liz opens her beautiful home and all the comforts that come with it. Very helpful about things to do in the area (and there are lots). You can walk a few blocks through the village to a great pub. She is spot on with attention and combines that with making you feel at home. We have stayed at many B&B's and this is at the top of the list. Wish we had discovered her sooner. Will go back.
