In September of 1984 my husband and I spent five beautiful days at the Zum Mohren, enjoying the peacefulness of the valley, great food from the kitchen and speaking with Herr Theiner each day. We hike up the mountain to reach the Abbey Marienburg to be given a tour by one of the monks and visit the church that is...

This July, it was the second time that my wife and I spent a week at the Hotel ”Zum Mohren & Plavina” in Burgeis/Burgusio (double room Zara at the Plavina). The experiences of our visit the year before made this choice easy. Also this year, we enjoyed again not only the hearty hospitality and excellent service-mindedness of the Theiner family...

This is our second visit to Burgusio and we still can't believe how this little village is just buzzing! We only ate at the Mohren on our last visit and were keen to stay there this time. We were not disappointed. The hotel has been run by the same family for generations and they certainly know the meaning of service....

Very nice hotel, ample rooms, Theiner family is always very kind and attentive with guests. Swimming pool is pretty shallow, perfect for kids. Good food in the nearby Zum Moren restaurant. The location is really relaxing.

We are often in this part of Europe and this hotel is an example of excellent Austrian (...well SudTiroler) hospitality. The room design was amazing with 2 bathrooms. One was a part of the main living/sleeping space. We have a just a step from our bed to the bath. Nice dinner and rich breakfast. Large welness!!! We spent only a...

“We stayed, 2 different trips 27 years apart, in the room with the bay window and flower boxes that is pictured in most photos of the Zum Mohren. Coincidentally, at a party at our home in Florida, we met people from Florence, Italy who visited the hotel regularly and they said that was "their" room! Small World! The room was a bit noisy on the weekend due to locals hanging out at the fountain but we slept very well after they went home for the night! The hotel is in a quiet village and the new addition (Plavina) is removed from the small street for those wanting assurance of total quiet.”
