I followed the recommendation of my Lonely Planet fom 2012. Unfortunately, the lodge is now pretty much run-down, maybe due to a change of management. We had a 3-bedroom bungalow for 70 US-Dollar where the water was not working. When we informed the management they tried to fix it, but were not able to do so. After a while they... More

We camped here. The toilets were poor and over run with mosquitos. No toilet rolls. No hard standing for the land rover means muddy everything. Beach is only visible from the bandas and restaurant. It was expensive at 50,000 for the night (cheap guest houses run at 10,000 - 30,000 in the area). Beach is littered and cannot swim there.... More

The good - very nice views overlooking the water, tons of stars at night, friendly and accommodating staff, peaceful during the day, a pool The not so good - loud at night with wind, waves, and various outdoor noises, Mosquitos, uncomfortable beds, so-so food, and no hot water, wii-Fii or air conditioning

Arriving a couple of weeks before the high season we were all alone in the hotel. The staff was friendly and rooms clean but not very charming. Great views from the hotel towards the Kilwa Kisiwani. Beach just beneath the hotel was very dirty with trash from the sea. It became better moving only 200 meters south. Prices was a... More

We did not stayed here but took a lunch during the day on the beach. After that all fried eggs and chips, rice and fried chicken in the town this was very good choice. Food was good, little bit like home made food (beef, potatos, chicken, vegetables...). Location of the resort and restautant on the small hill just beside of... More

We stayed 3 nights and my initial impressions changed from negative to ok. It looks like it is in need of some TLC and it is, but basically most of what you want is there. The bar/dining area is built around a big baobab tree and covers all the basics. The food is all right and if you ask they... More

I have never stayed, only had dinner a few times. As with most places you need to reserve in advance. The menu is set and has about 3 options, all are nice, but the starter and dessert were standard soup and fruit respectively which means all in all it wasnt good value for money. The service is good, the staff... More

We had planned to stay at this hotel for ten days but decided to shorten our stay and left after six. This hotel was not what we were expecting at all, the pool clearly had not been in use for a while and there is no possibility of it being filled in the near future, it was clear when booking... We stayed 4 nights at Kliwas Seaview resort in July/August 2012. The rooms are clean and the food and welcome were good. The location is on the cliffs above the beach and it is easy to walk down to the beach from the resort. The swimming pool was not filled when we visted. A trip to Kliwas ruins is well... More

We stayed at the campsite in the Kilwa Seaview Resort for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. We were the only guests and had the place to ourselves. The campground is shady and some places have a lovely seaview. The staff is really friendly and helpfull, the Masai that guard the campsite our really nice. The ablutions could be cleaner.... More
