Four of us had lunch on August 11. We stopped on our trip from Cong to Galway. Great food and friendly service. Most of us had the very good mushroom soup with brown bread. One other had a garden salad. The soup was very good and the brown bread received a score of 8. We are self appointed judges as...

Stayed for one night, very basic, room was ok, although it could have been properly cleaned, found used soap in bath and a half eaten biscuit with the tea & coffee making facilities. Hotel is very run down and badly needs to be thoroughly cleaned and renovated from top to bottom. Ok for one night.... Staff are lovely tho.

It's a summer tradition of mine to stop at the Anglers Rest on the way back from Cong and have scones with jam and cream. I've also had meals there like the Seafood Platter, which was very enjoyable. This is a local hotel and we often eat here after 5 they have a really good menu on and everything on it is nice the kids love it and always finish their plates has plenty of space and usually has a nice crowd so is nice for a drink also!!!!!!.........

I don't know why this is called an hotel, more like a lodge, as there is no one on the reception ever. Arrived at 5, nobody in the reception, had to go to the bar to get someone, no apologies. The room is ok, old time analogic television, didn't even know there are hotels who still use it. The idea...
