We spent the weekend here in one of the treehouses. The layout is very spacious and the cabin very clean. The location is lovely. We had a good (basic) takeaway one evening which was good. The sofas are not the most comfortable but are better than we have had before. Although there is not enough space for 10 people to sit together. The mattresses could be better. Wendy who works there is very helpful and friendly.

Overall we had a fab stay with a group of friends in a 3 bed silver birch cabin with Forest Holidays. Though it was half term week, and the cabins all seemed occupied, it was still v quiet and felt private. As a nature lover I enjoyed sitting on the decking watching the birds come and go, and the trees rustling in the breeze. Our two activities on site, the Ultimate Survival afternoon and archery were both excellent, and the activity leaders were knowledgeable and passionate. Apart from that we also enjoyed walks in the woodland, board games, BBQs and of course the hot tub. We had a hiccup with checking in which was compensated for, and the cabin itself was large and spotless. Staff came to clean the hot tub every day, and were all professional and courteous. The kitchen is broadly well equipped but if you're planning to cook something specific, take your own utensils with you (e.g. our kitchen didn't have a whisk, sieve or scales). The only drawback would be price of the cabin. We booked and paid pre-pandemic, before the wild rush for UK holidays - plus we had a discount so it became very good value for money. But having looked at the current going rate for our cabin, it would've cost nearly three times as much, and I'd say that wouldn't be worth it. The experience is good quality, but you could probably find the same thing cheaper elsewhere. Overall a great stay, and pretty much what we were looking for - though would keep an eye on prices and discounts to grab a bargain.

No phone network or in cabin phones so had to go to reception 4 times on the night of arrival due to constant problems. Dog hair all over sofa and in the bed, aswell as pubes and human hair. Matt was filthy. Cobwebs were everywhere. We couldn’t stay as it felt disgusting and so had to go to my sisters lodge. Only offered us a 50% refund which was terrible in my opinion as it was supposed to be our honeymoon and they ruined it completely. This took over two weeks to come back to us. They also took unauthorised payments out of my account for things like the entertainment package which basically allows you WiFi to be able to use your phone. This didn’t even work and so they said they’d wipe it off my bill and took it anyway. Still haven’t been refunded over two weeks later. Our wedding got cancelled and so we thought we would go on a little break away to cheer ourselves up when it actually had the opposite effect. We crashed our sisters holiday in her lodge and so had to sleep in single beds. The honeymoon package is so overpriced for what it is. I’d advise for anyone that’s thinking of getting it, not to bother. It’s some essentials and flowers and the price has gone up to £130 now! We didn’t take the fresh food( croissants and bread) with us due to how filthy the cabin was and they didn’t even offer to replace it. I said I didn’t want the cupboard bits either and they brought it up to our lodge regardless so I threw it away. We will never ever go back. It was an awful place and the only thing I enjoyed was being able to spend some time with my family, just wish it could have been somewhere much nicer.

We stayed at the Deer Park Forest Holidays in Cornwall last September and had such a great time we decided to stay at another Forest Holidays, this time in beautiful Hampshire. The Blackwood Forest was a stunning location, and it was brilliant to be surrounded by trees and nature (especially after lockdown). The cabin facilities and hot tub were great, and the bed was so comfortable! The staff are also super friendly. There are a ton of great walking & cycling routes close by, and we had a great afternoon at the Bombay Distillery. We would definitely recommend Forest Holidays to our friends and family. I’m sure we’ll be back! Thanks again for a great stay.

Stayed in a golden oak cabin Mon-fri, I felt it was good value for money as it was a 3 bedroom cabin. Very warm and cosy and clean. Hot tub was lovely and serviced each day. You need to bring with you bin bags as there is only 1 inside a very small bin (a cabin of 6 people would fill this quickly) Very small fridge/freezer for 6 person cabin WiFi is shocking, £15 per day if you want to purchase(which you will need to, no phone service) Also there is no logs for the log burner in the cabin which is disappointing? Overall very quiet and peaceful Could be improved by.. a list of things to do locally, local restaurants, attractions, takeaways ect. I asked a member of staff in the shop for something to do, who was less than helpful, reverted to trip adviser! Overall I would recommend and would return if I want something quiet and very very remote. No pubs/restaurants within walking distance
