#3 of 26 B&Bs / Inns in Abondance
Our boutique style eco-chalet is run as a luxury catered chalet over the ski season with gourmet cuisine and possible chauffeur service. During the rest of the year we offer a relaxing B&B retreat with the same high standard of personal service. We can help you organize summer activities such as mountain biking, white water rafting, and paragliding or suggest gentle walks or picturesque landscapes for painters and photographers. We offer a choice of four B&B bedrooms during spring, summer and autumn, each with a different atmosphere and decorated in soft colours and rich fabrics. Prices are from €80-€150 depending on time of year and which room you choose. Breakfast includes fruit juice, croissants, bread and homemade jams, homemade granola, fresh fruit salad, local Abondance cheese, cold meats, fresh organic coffee and a range of teas along with different specials such as homemade muffins. On request a delicious three-course evening meal can be provided, including specially selected wine, for 30€ per adult with vegetarian and special diet options. We cook with organic ingredients and fresh local and home produce.Bonnevaux is a quiet, authentic mountain village set in stunning surroundings. The chalet is on the edge of the village with a kids' playground close by. The garden behind the chalet is blissfully private with open panoramic mountain views. We are just over an hour from GENEVA airport, 20 minutes from EVIAN and Lac Geneva and 20 minutes from MORZINE and CHATEL respectively. So you can enjoy a breezy sail on the lake in the morning and take in the breathtaking Alpine sunset from the mountaintops in the evening. We built Chalet Chatelet ecologically with natural building materials and insulation and with solar panels creating hot water and electricity. The Tulikivi super-efficient log-burning stove with its bread oven radiates heat 24/7 during winter months and is situated in the centre of the large living room with a state of the art home cinema, comfy sofas and six place dining table. For large numbers, we serve the evening meal in the dining room on the ground floor where you also have access to an infrared sauna with jet shower. Outside we have a large garden set back off the road, surrounded by agricultural land, with an outdoor hot tub for the ski season, table tennis and table football. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us and we hope to see you very soon!

We stayed four nights and could not have had a better yoga/snow vacation. Adorable B&B with tons of charm and detail. Suzie and Pascal were so helpful with their recommendations and made us feel so welcome. Nina is the best yoga teacher!

We arrived at Chalet Chatelet after an amazing drive through the mountains and were warmly welcomed by Suzie. The cow bells were donging on the mountain opposite, the sun was shining and the views were stunning - heaven. Our room was fantastic, with a huge shower in the bathroom and the most comfortable bed. Suzie’s breakfasts were delicious, the local Abondance cheese was so yummy as was the homemade granola. We only wishes we could have stayed longer and have promised ourselves another trip soon. A great location for winter or summer breaks.

Chalet Chatelet is an amazing place to unwind and appreciate the best that this region of France has to offer. From mountain trails, to local wines and cheeses, to first-class skiing, there is something for everyone. Our hosts, Suzie and Pascal, were lovely, offering genuine hospitality and charming conversation. We were four ladies having a "weekend getaway". We wanted a place where we could forget about career stress and the busyness of Geneva. We found it! :-) The chalet is impeccable; not a speck of dust anywhere! The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. We loved the modern fireplace in the evenings, and the bain nordique (wooden hot tub) at 40 degrees Celcius. We will never forget one evening where we soaked in the hot tub underneath the stars, with a gentle snow falling around us. Simply magical. Perhaps the best part was Suzie's homemade cooking. She managed to please our picky group (two vegetarians, one vegan and one gluten-free omnivore) with delicious and innovative dinners, complete with dessert and paired wine. The portions were very generous. All in all, a 5-star experience. I highly recommend this place!

Just had a wonderful week with Suzie and Pascal. The chalet is lovely and beautifully presented and sits in the lovely quite village of Bonnevaux. We went fully catered and Suzie's menu for the week was superb. Absolutely fabulous. The only little thing we missed were boot warmers to help dry the insides of damp boots and gloves. Maybe something to consider. The skiing was good. We were about 15/20 mins away from the main Chapelle De Abondance bubble lift but it didn't matter too much. Pascal took us each morning to the lift and he was always available to pick up, usually from the Le Fer Rouge, Chapelle. A great pub and a gem of a place. A must if visiting the area. We went into the Porte Du Soleil on a couple of occasions which was very straight forward. There were quite a few button lifts to take to get back to Chapelle, so a little tricky and it made it a little hard work but all in all the skiing excellent. All in all a great week. Thank you. Fiona, family and friends

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for us Fiona, and we very much appreciate your comments and advice. Normally our radiator does an adequate job on the ski boots and gloves, but we will start saving up to provide a boot warmer! Glad you enjoyed the Fer Rouge and watching the rugby at our local cafe, the Franco Suisse in Abondance as well! We too had a great week. Our best wishes to you all from us both, Suzie and Pascal

We stayed in Chalet Chatelet for 7 nights, and loved it! The Chalet is in a beautiful village called Bonnevaux which is 10 minutes drive from our ski station in la Chapelle-d’Abondance. The Chalet is beautifully decorated with fine and elegant taste. The landscape around the Chalet is just amazing, the kids loved playing with the snow and with the dogs of our hosts. Suzie and Pascal were very welcoming and quickly made us feel like home. Pascal loves his Chalet and is passionate about the fire place which is built with volcanic stone! He was very helpful every time we needed him, we enjoyed his stories and all the information he shared with us about the region. Suzie delighted us every night with delicious meals made with love. We can not recommend Chalet Chatelet enough, we enjoyed every day of our stay. Thank you Suzie and Pascal, wishing you all the best...

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. It was a great pleasure to meet you all and we greatly enjoyed being part of your first family ski holiday. We always try to recommend an appropriate ski resort in the Abondance Valley for the level of skiing of our guests, and based on the weather during the past two years in March, felt that Crêt Béni would suit your needs, as it has good snow on the lower slopes. However this year with the fantastic snow all over the Alps, you could have equally gone to our local resort of Abondance, which is just 5 km from the chalet and is also quiet and very beautiful, and has lots of exciting extra activities. You all did so well, no doubt you will soon benefit from the whole of the vast Portes du Soleil! We very much hope to see you and your lovely family on another occasion and send our best wishes to you all too.
