Absolutely perfect treat, back where we had our wedding reception just over 26 years ago. The snow made the setting even more magical, yet the castle was cosy and welcoming. We paid extra to upgrade to a four poster suite but the the winter warmer deal was still great value. The evening meal and breakfast were both excellent. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Stayed at the Hotel this week. On arrival there was a blackout across the whole area - including the Hotel. This left them with emergency lighting in the public areas only, no WiFi, no cooking facilities, no lights in the rooms etc. Not the Hotel’s fault and the staff handled it brilliantly. Attentive, helpful, offering cold foods as an alternative (the power came back in after about 90 minutes as did the kitchen anyway). The staff were brilliant through, as was the food I ordered after they were back up and running. The WiFi remained off however and as it is a Castle (not designed for mobile phone signal coverage at the time of the build a few centuries ago), it was a little frustrating in terms of doing some work. The WiFi when on wasn’t brilliant in my room and the lack of phone signal means I can’t really recommend for a business stay if you have work to do. But……. I would not hesitate to return for leisure or if I didn’t have any work to complete as the ambience, the staff and the overall feel and style of the Hotel were lovely. Hope this is a fair reflection - I bear them no responsibility for the power outage (handled brilliantly) or the WiFi. Stay and you won’t be disappointed…..…

Usually we have a pretty good internet signal, especially as we are a 12th century castle and many local business use us with no issues at all. We stayed for one night on the 18th of November for our one year anniversary, we originally booked a double room in the west wing, for £89 it was a bargain, however I am self confessed Karen and I wanted the whole castle experience which meant I decided to upgrade to room 16 in the main castle building. Nicola on reception could not have been more helpful, and welcoming I genuinely felt the love she has for her guests, her smile and the way in which she welcomed us really but a bench mark on our whole stay. The general manager and his wife also made us feel welcome, chatting and sharing their stories and experiences with us, was personable and made us feel like we stepped into their home. Room 16 gave us an experience to never forget, the robes, the bed, the views, even the jacuzzi bath. The room was clean, and gave us the wow factor! The bed was large, although slightly hard for me, but my partner slept incredibly well. The meals, OH MY GOSH! Best roast dinner my partner has ever had (thanks chef you’ve now made me nervous to cook a roast dinner) and the castle burger was incredible. Breakfast was fresh, cooked to order and the coffee, do you do intravenous drips of that coffee? Starbucks has been put to shame! The whole experience was incredible and we left knowing that Walworth is where we will tie the knot! All the staff we spoke to, thank you for making our one night stay incredible, as a gay couple we felt safe and comfortable and treat in a way in which is so rarely hard to find.…

We very much enjoyed our stay. The building was nice, the lounge and restaurant area were cosy and comfortable and looked nice. The food was lovely, the staff were lovely and the value for money was excellent. Our room was large and clean. The only negative were that our pillows were quite thin, I would have to take my own pillows next time but I would absolutely return.

The perfect venue for our wedding. Fabulous from the minute we booked to the day itself. The wonderful team at Walworth went out of their way to make sure we had the best day. The hotel rooms and all the meals were excellent and the wedding day itself was just perfect. We can’t thank everyone enough for giving us such a beautiful day to remember. We will definitely visit the hotel again as will our family and friends.

A group of 23 people, all with different needs from dietary to mobility, and we were all looked after well. Our workshops took place in Cardinals Court and we had evening meals in the Ballroom. Some claimed to have put on pounds due to the hotel’s cuisine! Drinks in the lounge bar at the end of the day and lots and lots of chat, what more could you want? As the organiser of this event, I was pleased with the venue in terms of cleanliness, the staff, and the overall quirkiness of the castle. We had a bracing walk around the grounds; the surrounding landscape is beautiful. There were those who had minor issues but they were resolved swiftly. I'd stay there again.

Had a lovely roast lunch here. Opted for the pork, my husband had the beef, and my other family members had the vegetarian options. Good cane out quick and hot, and I love it when the veg is separate to help yourself with and an extra jug of gravy! Disappointing not to have crackling with the pork though. The dessert menu looked good, but unfortunately it took too long for us to see a member of staff after we ate to order … we’re we sat in a room off the main restaurant which may had added to this. Would still recommend and return.

Lovely hotel free parking staff excellent very friendly and polite our room in annexe very clean the only thing I would say bathroom quite small and wasn't really not an issue as only one night stay but the space was taken up by a huge sink but if that's the only issue we certainly had no complaints on our stay . Food in restaurant very good, the best belly pork with crackling I have had in years and Dan who served us was very attentive friendly and polite , lovely breakfasts plenty variety and great cup of tea . Great stay and will definitely return again

We stayed at Walworth Castle 4th & 5th November 2023 and attended a murder mystery night on the 4th which was utterly fabulous. From the moment we arrived we felt at home, the attentiveness of the staff was amazing as was their engagement and interest. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Check In was quick and informative. We asked if there was any possibility of changing rooms to one with a bath, within minutes we were moved to another fabulous room with a bath and over bath shower. The food is to die for. A varied menu, big portions and so tasty. Very well priced as well. This was our first stay here but will certainly not be our last. A huge thank you to the manager, his wife and all the staff at Walworth who made our stay one of the best stays in a hotel we have ever had. Hope to see you all again very soon. Davie & Sheena…
