We've stayed in about 10 of these privately owned cottage venues over the years and Broomhill beats them all hands down. In fact, it's the only one we have re-booked before even leaving. The facilities are simply incredible - and on first arriving and seeing all the play areas scattered throughout the grounds, I called it 'a child's heaven'. With both indoor and outdoor things to do, we had a lovely holiday despite being unlucky with the weather. From the horse riding to swimming, tennis, trampolining, pool, ping pong, gym workouts, football and the under 6 playroom - there were good things for all of us to enjoy when it was too cold or wet to go to the beach. But the thing that really makes Broomhill stand out is the atmosphere that Philip and Louise have created - fostering an environment where the kids can easily make friends. My kids are naturally shy and struggle to make friends on holiday but bar night (held 3 times a week) was a highlight for them as it got them socialising. While the adults all relax over a drink, the kids all hang out and go off to play independently. By our last bar night, they were popping in and out of each other's cottages and confidently exploring the whole site - loving their independence, while we loved the time off knowing they were safe and happy. Throughout our stay Philip and Louise were always available, helpful and friendly. They are natural hosts and very relaxed. Philip even left the pool open late for us one night when our kids wanted to go for an evening swim. The only downside about Broomhill Manor was that our particular cottage (Fulmar) was a little 'tired'. It was perfectly clean and comfortable, with all the facilities we needed (including super fast Wifi) but could have done with a bit of sprucing up and modernising. That wouldn't have stopped us re-booking but we later discovered that a lot of the other cottages have been updated recently so are super excited about next year when we'll have the facilities, the atmosphere and a simply gorgeous cottage!

Just back from a week with husband, son (age 8), and grandparent. Despite typical British summer weather fabulous time had by all. Fantastic welcome by hosts Philip and Louise who couldn’t do enough all week to ensure we had a fabulous time. We stayed in house cottage which was comfortable for the 4 of us and clean. Styling is in character for the property so don’t expect modern. No issues other than we would have liked a firmer mattress but personal preference. Grounds are gorgeous. Facilities are great with plenty to do - indoor and outdoor pools, tennis, boules, snooker, pool, table tennis. On site riding stables is a nice extra. Heated outdoor pool was lovely and warm. Bar evenings (3 per week) were great - welcoming and relaxed with opportunity for children to make friends, enjoy a bit of freedom but still see what they’re up to. Lovely walks from the doorstep. 20-30min walk to Bude. Great pub 15min walk. Would recommend and hope to return soon.

From the moment you arrive at Broomhill Manor you know that you have come to the right place. The welcome from the owners Philip & Louise is warm and personal and the delicious homemade scones in your cottage are a lovely touch. We stayed for a week with our two teenage children and there is plenty to keep them occupied from the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, to the tennis courts, riding stables and games room. The three times a week onsite bar is a great touch allowing parents to have a drink and relax whilst children of all ages can run around in a very safe environment. Bude itself is a short walk down a country lane with a large beach and range of shops and restaurants but if all you want to do is stay put and relax, Broomhill is ideal for that - the cottage was very comfortable and the beds were very good. Any problem is no problem - we had a couple of small issues and they were fixed within the hour. We had a week of fabulous coastal walks, lovely meals and a relaxing comfortable place to stay - wonderful! Thank you!

We have just returned home from an incredibly relaxing last minute holiday at Broomhill Manor. The homemade and delicious scones with clotted cream and jam were a lovely welcome after a long drive in the rain. The cottages are really cosy with lovely hot showers, very comfortable beds and a kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need for a week long family holiday. The indoor and outdoor pools are both heated to the perfect temperature. Also on site are tennis courts, spa, games room and horse riding. My husband booked a massage which he said was excellent. Louise and Philip are always on hand to help when needed. Bar Nights (Sun, Tues & Thurs) are not to be missed with children running around with new made friends and adults enjoying the Cocktail Menu. It’s a real hidden gem. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Stayed for 7 nights w/c 1st July at Sandpiper Cottage with my wife and two sons 20 & 17. Had a wonderful week in a beautifully peaceful location. Bude and beaches just two miles away. Freshly made scones on arrival with jam & clotted cream. Cottage was clean, spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, microwave, gas hob, oven and fridge freezer. Little things included such as black bags, tea towels, dishwasher tablets etc so no need to take any with us. Our cottage also came with hot tub and gas barbecue. There was a six seater outdoor table and chairs for outdoor dining. Lots of towels provided in the cottage along with hoover, hairdryers, alarm clock radio's etc. Philip, the joint proprietor was there to meet us on arrival and direct us to our cottage. He would come each morning to check the hot tub and ensure the chemicals were at the right levels and check everything was ok. Nothing was too much trouble. We organised a delivery from Asda for just after our arrival. Ensure you give them the correct postcode for the site as advised when you book as it took the driver a while to find us. The site itself comprises approx 20 cottages and includes indoor and outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The outdoor pool was very clean, well heated and was great for kids and adults alike with lots of loungers, tables and chairs. There are lots of facilities on site which are great for the kids young and old - sand pit, pool table, table tennis, outdoor tennis court (racquets and balls provided). There is also an excellent fully equipped full size snooker table which my eldest son and I played on a number of times. There is also a gym comprising treadmill, rower, cross trainer and bike. The terrace bar is open on a Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday for a wide variety of drinks and quite excellent freshly made cocktails in a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere. This is manned by Philip and Louise, our hosts, who worked extremely hard and do an excellent job. The grounds are beautifully maintained and offer the opportunity for peaceful walks. There are horse stables on site and my wife and I went on a novices ride for an hour. This was wonderfully peaceful as we were guided round the Manor grounds by Jo (the stable manager) and Kiki. Again, worth booking in advance as rides take place quite regularly. We ate out at Elements restaurant in Bude one evening. We booked a month in advance as advised in the Broomhill brochure and were glad we did as the restaurant was full by 7.30pm, and this was on a Wednesday night. Food and service was excellent but not cheap. We ventured into Bude on a number of occasions. The sea pool is well worth a visit and the beach at Summerleaze is excellent for surfing. There are also excellent places for walkers. Overall we had a brilliant time, very relaxing and I could happily still be there now. Philip and Louise should be commended for the excellent job that they do. They could easily employ others to look after the site and take a back seat but they work very hard and add that personal touch to ensure that you have the best holiday possible. It didn't disappoint.

We during the first week of July 2023 and it was quite simply a fantastic place to relax and it will exceed your expectations. The facilities, particularly the two swimming pools, are superb. The cottages are well kitted out, immaculately clean and Philip and Louise are always on hand to provide practical advice on where to go and what to do. From someone who has stayed in a lot of self catering cottages over the years Broomhill Manor is up there with the best of them.

We visited this place the same week last year as it falls during my wife’s birthday We had such an amazing time, that we felt it would be just as much fun, if not more, if we brought along our closest friends and their family Booked ourselves into the same cottage (Puffin) and our friends were next door in Chough The Trotter’s were certainly busy during that year in between New paving/stones on the pathways, larger and improved sandpit and an additional solar farm to re-enhance their environment message Nice to see the small touches remain - the welcome scones with jam and cream, the cocktail evenings at the terrace bar and their overall wholesome friendliness It was great to see how other people react to the place Our friend’s children were already asking if they could come back next year on Day One! They were spoilt with an indoor and outdoor pool as well as use of the hot tub - which was a real bonus I can, hand on heart, state - due to all the facilities on site, the location to Bude and surrounding beaches of N Cornwall and Devon….this is a highly recommended place for couples, families (of all ages) and even if you’re on your own Will we come back again….no doubt

Stayed here the first week in July in the Round House. First time staying in Cornwall and we could not have chosen a better place than here. The Round House was a delightful and quaint little cottage maintained to a high standard and contained all that you could possibly need. The kitchen was well equipped, the bath a generous size and the property had bucketsful of charm and period features. The views from the windows are envious and the beds are very comfortable. The pillows must get a special mention as they were heavenly! The towels provided were also very soft and fluffy. Upon arrival, you are greeted by Philip who meets you at your cottage and gives you all the important info, there are also some delicious scones waiting in the cottage for you with clotted cream and jam. In the kitchen, there are some tea bags and coffee along with sugar and some milk in the fridge which is most appreciated after a long drive! Being a period property the ceilings are quite low and if you are above 5ft 5 or 6 you will need to duck under the door frames, something my partner often forgot! The garden was also delightful, very cosy and pretty with the pink flowers trailing around the fencing, a picnic bench to sit on and a BBQ which we did not use. Broomhill Manor is a very beautiful place in a very beautiful location, it is very quiet and peaceful and ideal for families, couples or friends. The owners are very polite and friendly and were very accommodating and understanding when it came to our daughter's fear of dogs! The pools are exceptional, very warm and clean as are all of the facilities. The bar nights on the terrace are good fun and the cocktails are lovely. The tuck shop was handy and fairly priced and the games room and children's play areas were fantastic. A very laid-back atmosphere which we appreciated and plenty of information in the reception regarding things to do which we found very useful. The horse riding is good, the horses are wonderful, very well cared for and very well behaved. The stable team are lovely and very good at what they do, and very good with SEN children also. The only negative is that the hacking route is a bit disappointing but this is not the staff's fault. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, we would definitely stay again and we highly recommend it.

Thank you Philip and Louise for the most fantastic week at Broomhill. We stayed in the Cormorant cottage and couldn't have felt more comfortable and relaxed. The grounds are beautiful and we all loved the swimming pools and especially our own hot tub. Private garden and surrounding country lanes were perfect for the dog too. The kids loved the games room and we loved our evenings at the bar- cocktails were fantastic! Thoroughly recommend this wonderful place!

I am tempted to keep this wonderful place a secret because it’s too good to share but that wouldn’t be fair to the most warm and welcoming owners! We had the most amazing stay at Broomhill Manor. The Setting is stunning. As we drove down the lane to the main house we felt like we were arriving at the perfect English summer location. The children didn't know where to begin. The sandpit, swimming pool, trampoline, playground or games room. Then of course there was the added bonus of horse riding. The private houses were quipped with everything you need. A home from home vibe although our home doesn't have a private hottub in the garden like this one does! I can't recommend Broomhill Manor enough. We will be back!
