Wolfen mill is set in a lovely part of the English countryside, surrounded by hills, streams, wood blocks and of course animals. This is a Dog friendly enviroment and something you pay a small charge for.

Not to far from the small village of chipping which has everything from a few pubs to local shops and a lovely farm shop. There is also a great day out at bowland wild boar park.

The Mill itself is lovely and well kept the grounds are amazing, faultless in fact.
We stayed in the tweedy room again spotless and faultless, Tweedy is one of the smaller rooms as the rest was sold out but it served a purpose. All rooms have Netflix & Amazon aswell as normal TV. Free WIFI is availble as there is minimul phone service there which i found perfect as it was a break from work and stress at home.

The downsides to wolfen mill is you can only check in at 1600hrs and must check out at 1030hrs to me this feels as if you have lost a day of your holiday.

They have a hottub but it wasnt available to use for the 3 days we was there guessing this was down to covid 19 but again this was an attraction to booking wolfen mill and not to be told it wasnt available was a slap in the face. The hot tub did get filled up the morning we was leaving again which rubbed salt into the wounds so to say.

Regardless of the downsides we will be a returning guest for many years to come.

A very clever concept perhaps based on a ski chalet style accommodation. Each apartment has a comfortable bedroom,en-suite lounge and kitchenette.Tv’s in bedroom and lounge which includes amazon and Netflix. All rooms have key code locks .
Nestled in a valley approximately 1mile from Chipping Wolfen Mill offers good and safe parking, a enclosed courtyard plus gardens and access to areas around the Mill Pond .Take your swimmers for the hot tub, even though we had a grim week of weather a glass of champagne and a soak made up for it.
All the apartments are linked within the Mill so The large communal dining area on the ground floor(with communal kitchen)allows for great mealtimes from dawn till dusk and plenty of opportunity to be the chef, help laying the table or washing up.
Set over 3 floors all with a communal staircase the top floor has a huge comfortable lounge area with 4 settees and additional seating..Doors open onto the decking and Mill Pool with beautiful tranquil views.
A lot of walking on offer with walks ranging from easy to challenging.3 dog friendly apartments.Take your bikes but be prepared for Some hills. Eating out The Inn at Whitewell is highly recommend ,but book before you go.The local shops in Chipping offer basic provisions and the farm shop owned by a lovely lady Sharon who will deliver fresh bread, meat etc to the Mill on request.
Wolfen Mill is a great venue for any type of gathering, family,friends,etc..it is a place where you can spend quality time and at the same time have your own space.

After our holiday away to Mexico got cancelled we fancied a quiet trip away. Wolfen Mill was exactly what we wanted and more! It was very clean, tidy and the bed was super comfy!!

Amazing location too.

To make it even better you could supply a chopping board and oven gloves!

Thank you again for our stay - we will be back :)

We stayed in Sutton’s loft for 3 nights. Property is in a lovely location and is very picturesque. The apartment was just what we needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was very comfortable and bedding was lovely. It was really clean and well presented and overall our trip was fantastic. Two little things To mention - firstly the kitchen could have been better equipped with chopping board, utensils etc . Secondly and obviously not related to the property itself , the road from chipping to the property is a little precarious . Maybe it’s because we are city dwellers but we found alternative routes after the first journey

This place is amazing! It's huge! When we arrived we went from room to room exploring, and immediately got lost. There are so many self contained apartments within the main house, it's a very unique holiday home.
Everyone chose their rooms and we still had rooms spare.
Theres a lake outside the sitting room on the top floor, where we sat for hours and played games.
It rained every day we were there but with the hotub, Christmas and trips out shopping the time went so quickly
The kitchen was well stocked with every pot and pan you could need, they even provided a turkey tray for us.
The owners are nearby, and were very helpful when we needed anything. Our dogs loved the space, and local walks, and we saw lots of wildlife including a fox. We would highly recommend this house for big family reunions or group holidays. Its peaceful, safe and totally laid back, with plenty of space to do your own thing.

We are a group of friends who met at college over 50 years ago and still meet up every year. We normally stay in pubs or small hotels but this year decided to try a "big house rental". Wolfen Mill turned out to be the perfect location for us as we had the whole place to ourselves in a lovely rural location. The accommodation is all en suite, very well designed and spacious with all facilities. When we arrived it was spotlessly clean. The lounge on the top floor was great for meeting up and reminiscing; from there one of our group saw a kingfisher fly across the old mill dam. The dining area is huge where we all gathered round and one night we organised a local outside caterer, "The Lovely Cowshed" who provided delicious food. We had regular contact with the owners before and during our stay by email, phone and text and found them very friendly and easy to communicate with. We fully understand the need for a deposit in case of breakages etc and this was returned to us within a few hours of leaving. We have already recommended Wolfen to family and friends and hope to visit again soon.

Possibly the most awkward owners, we have ever dealt with.

Every year as a family of 18 we go away for a long weekend and have never had an issue until we met the owners of Wolfen Mill. It’s states dog friendly, however dogs are not allowed to wee/poo on the ONE lawn and have to be walked to use the toilet. (I’m not a dog whisperer and don’t know when my dog needs to go)

We were also threatened we were in jeopardy of losing our £500 deposit if the dogs bark and ‘there will be big trouble’.

Ridiculous rules with the hot tub, we were told not to use our own individual kitchens and use the main shared one.

Cameras all over the place, both inside and out so you can’t really enjoy yourself without feeling like you’re on big brother.

A family member also left a jacket at the property and tried to arrange collection, which the owner wanted £25 for my family member to get their own property back. (After we had paid over £4.2k for just 3 nights)

Would not recommend and would recommend everyone to steer clear from these money grabbers, unless you like being watched, threatened and hate having fun! Then go for it.

Absolutely fabulous house, spacious dinning room and large lounge also the courtyard ideal for our large family birthday party(combining all the birthday we missed this year through lock down) Each individual apartment is well furnished and supplied with everything you need we had all 9 apartments, you can do your own drinks and snack but come together for breakfast and dinner. We used a cater for Saturday evening meal.My grandson went finishing in the Mill pond and court a trout. We had such a fun time highly recommend this is best self catering place I have every rented and I am over 70 years. We were so lucky to have managed to get this in before the new group of 6 came in. This is a great place to celebrate when this awful Covid has passed

Excellent venue for family get together. 14 of us, 3 generations, thoroughly enjoyed a weekend. Superbly equipped apartments. All very clean and well maintained. All connected internally to main dining room and lounge as well as having outside doors for access to garden and hot tub.
Well equipped central kitchen. Lovely lounge overlooking mill pond.
Looked after very well by Michael who recommended shops and walks.
Chipping Farm shop very helpful.
Couldn't fault a thing.

Great place for friends to get together but have your own space too. The cottages are beautifully furnished and equipped and the communal lounge and dining area are great for getting together, eating and chatting. Lovely location with pubs a mile away though up and down hill!

Room Tip: The setting is lovely but it is a hilly walk to the nearest village and pubs!
