Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A nice hotel with lovely home cooked food , reasonable entertainment in the evenings, but the minus points are the rooms have TV’s that are far too small and very limited choice if channels The wifi performance is very poor Excellent coach drivers and the logistical arrangements is first class Do request a loch view room eg room 114 😊

My husband and I have just returned from our 3rd visit to Loch Awe hotel My favourite of the Lochs and Glens hotels. We travelled by coach our drivers Karin and Lizzie were excellent and informative All of the staff were great they all just couldn't do enough for us Food of very high quality With the trips out and entertainment these holidays are fantastic value This hotel was built in 1880 it has a Wonderful staircase and chandelier It has a railway station running just below the hotel and the most beautiful views across the Loch The rooms were good, very comfortable I have had 8 holidays with Lochs and Glens and hope to have lots more Yes it's long journey from Suffolk to Scotland but that is to be expected just sit back and enjoy

With Lochs & Glens. 5 day break. Travelled in past with L&G, first time to this hotel. As expected, up to the usual high standards in all departments. Journey good, Sandra as driver who again was top class and very helpful. Neall as excursion driver, excellent with a great sense of humour and very informative. Hotel staff friendly, helpful and cheery. Food good in choice and quality. Rooms clean, comfortable and spacious with great views. Entertainment very good (previously L&G entertainment was just average). Overall an excellent trip up to the high standards expected.

Went on this trip alone had a single room on the 2nd floor, lovely room with a view to the countryside could see the little cottage with the caravan and sheep in the garden. Room had bath and shower towels provided and a heated towel rail to warm them on. Tea and coffee facilities and tv in room and housekeeping came in daily, made the bed and cleaned and replenished coffee, milk and toilet rolls if needed. I had bed and breakfast and evening meal. Set menus and time allocated for meal times as guests are coming and going at different times. To be honest the portions of food are large and I didn't need to eat at lunchtime just breakfast and dinner the food is also piping hot which I really like water is provided at meal times and staff come around and take drinks orders and bring them to the table. Bar in hotel and bar staff friendly as are all staff. There was entertainment, singer and bingo, there are also lots of board games you can play so played dominos and a new game I hadn't played before, haven't played board games for years so it was very enjoyable. Met a couple of ladies also travelling on their own, they were with Lochs and Glens holidays and went on the coach trips which they said were fabulous. It was lovely to meet them and chat. the hotel is well managed by Jadine, who is very helpful and manages it well. I found the hotel beautiful to me it is a bit like a country home and been a fan of Agatha Christie, I admit I did imagine it was my home and was expecting guests,(strange I know). A real log fire was lit in the hall on my last evening, lovely. Some comments say the hotel is a bit jaded, I didn't think this at all, it is spotlessly clean and as I imagine with most hotels improvements and repairs are taking place when schedules permit. Book to go here, you wont regret it, it is such a beautiful area with waterfalls, ruined castles. I have been recommending it to people I have met on the train returning home. Would definitely love to return as do many people time and time again. Forgot to say if coming by train the train stop is right opposite the hotel and the train journey goes through spectacular scenery.

Staff at hotel were lovely so polite nothing was too much trouble for them. Not that we had any problems. Looking forward to going back!! Food was lovely the service was so precise.
