Six self-catering holiday cottages. Traditional old stone farm outbuildings lovingly converted into accommodation of a high standard, retaining the Olde Worlde feel, but with all mod cons.Cwmiar is a tranquil place and our guests frequently describe it as unique; situated in its own secluded valley on the slope of Llanllwni mountain, adjacent to beautiful moorland which is common land, with sheep, cattle and horses roaming free; where guests can ramble and enjoy panoramic views, all the way round from the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains to the North East round to the Priscelis in the South West.Children love feeding and helping to take care of the many and various animals on the farm and can spend as much or as little time with us as they would like to. There are also several play areas to keep them amused, including a playground especially for toddlers and a clubhouse with skittles, snooker, darts and loads more for all ages, including a wide screen TV, so that the youngsters can all sit and watch films or programmes together. The whole family will have a wonderful holiday at Cwmiar - see our reviews.

We visited as a large family group and rented out 3 houses. The houses are old and full of character. Kay, the owner, is friendly and welcoming. Every morning you can feed the animals with her from 9am - pigs, ducks, geese, cows, sheep, chickens. She even offers tractor rides for the kids. Lovely location about 40 mins from some very beautiful beaches like Tresaith. Definitely going again!

Second time we have stayed, had a wonderful time again, cottages are spotlessly clean and full of character, Kay makes the whole experience amazing she is so good with the children who loved feeding the animals with her, she is a kind and welcoming host and her love for her animals shines through, plenty to do, lovely walks a great games room, playground for little ones and zip wire for the big kids, all this and if it's a clear night the stars you can see from there are breathtaking, highly recommended once you've been you'll want to go again

A perfect retreat in a pocket of Wales which feels a million miles from the rush of modern life. Wake, help around the animals (if you wish), wander around the endless countryside, cycle for hours covering stunning uninterrupted miles or simply lose yourself in the surroundings. The cottages are well equipped, clean and beautifully cosy. Kay is a wonderful host who always went above and beyond to cater to our needs. We will be back without hesitation *****.

A very warm welcome from Kay and a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend. The cottages are located in wonderful scenery on a working farm. Eight of us stayed in the converted water mill, which provides plenty of room to get together to eat and relax. The bedrooms are large and comfortable with en suite bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped, which is not always the case in other places we have stayed in. If you want to feed the animals, Kay is more than happy to take you round to see the cows, sheep, pig, chickens, goats etc. A great place to stay.

Stayed here during half Term. Our Daughter and her family plus other family stayed in a large cottage whilst myself and my wife stayed in an adjacent smaller property. It was just right for a lovely break...As a group we went on walks on the hills and the kids loved helping Kay to feed the animals which they loved. They also went Pony treking on a nearby farm which they really loved. Cottages were very welcoming and comfortable and we are all looking at going back again next year.

This is our 2nd time back to the farm - another amazing time. there were 5 Adults and 5 children aged between 4 and 11. This was the first time our 11 year old granddaughter had been but like the rest wants to go back. Kay the owner is really a very special person and so kind. Our children in there 30's helped deliver calfs and look for cows who were lost and was as happy as our grandchildren away from the mad world of computers. If you go also go to Poppits Bay very child friendly. Thank you again Kay it was a very special time for us all. Sandra

This was our 3rd time staying at Cwmair. I simply cannot leave and not leave a review. We rented out 3 cottages for 5 families. This was our best time yet - various ages of children from 2-14 and absolutely something for everyone to enjoy and experience. The views are breathtaking and the cottages are always clean, cosy and well maintained. You are able to fully immerse yourself into farm life. From feeding the pigs, chickens and sheep to collecting eggs, helping Kay to count the sheep and cows each day and some old school fun playing in the farm stream. We even got to help to rescue a baby calf that had been separated from its mum. Kay truly values every single life on her farm and really does do an incredible job of allowing the kids and adults to see first hand what goes in to looking after animals with love and care. Both adults and children have made memories here that we simply wouldn’t get anywhere else. Honestly if you want to enjoy everything that nature and farm-life has to offer then you simply must make a trip here. We always see families that have returned time and time again (our children have made new friends each time). Our trips here will always be a huge part of our children’s childhood memories and I will always be thankful to Kay and Gamal for what they have created and allowed us to experience. Jody, Chris, Taylor and Jayden Xx

Cwmiar Farm is such a magical place to stay, especially if you have children. Kay is an amazing host and will take you around each day, getting you involved in feeding the pigs, chickens, ducks, horses, geese and sheep. There is also a well-equipped games room and more than one play area with some excellent equipment. All the shops you need are within a short drive and there is plenty to do and see locally including a very nice restaurant just 10 minutes walk away. In all, we had a great stay. Cwmiar Farm is an incredible value and a great bolt-hole from the crazy of everyday life - thank you, Kay, for all of your efforts to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We will definitely be back.

We stayed one whole month at Cwmiar Farm in sunset view cottage. This is a lovely sweet cottage. Nice living room/kitchen which had all the kitchen items one needs. No light pollution and such dark skies gave us such great calm sleeps amazing. The views across the farm land are great and scenery changes with the light and time of day so nice to watch that. Kay the owner is wonderful and very friendly. Our son enjoyed spending time with her and loved wondering around the farm with her. Feeding ducks, chickens, geese, pigs, sheep and the horses. Out in all weather going up and down the lane with kay in her tractor to check up on the animals daily. Our son can be keen sometimes over keen! Kay took all this on board and gave him a true experience he will never forget. So if you love the outdoor beautiful countryside and have an out door child this is the place for you. 😍😍.

Cwmair Farm was recommended by close friends of ours, as soon as we pulled up the lane to the farm we instantly felt relaxed. We had our two autistic sons with us aged 3 and 2 and I have to say this is the first family holiday where our boys could run around, play and splash in the puddles and not be judged. Kay was amazing with our boys making sure she included them when we went to help feed the animals. The playgrounds were perfect for our boys as they could run around and play until there hearts content. Even around the farm the boys would run and us as parents felt completely at ease it’s the first holiday where we have all felt totally relaxed and at ease with our surroundings. We stayed in Sunset View and it was lovely and comfortable, the perfect size for us 4 and the views in the morning and on the evening were breath taking. The cottage was lovely and warm even with a frost outside. We also had a garden the boys could run around and play in. We have loved our stay so much we have booked again for May 2019 and will be booking for October 2019. We would like to thank Kay from the bottom of our hearts for making our family holiday the best we have had yet with two autistic sons it’s not easy finding places to go where they feel relaxed and comfortable and Cwmair did that and we are truly grateful. We were looking for a regular place to holiday with the boys and we have absolutely found that with Cwmair.
