This site is at the top end of my three star rating, but I felt I couldn’t give it a four because it doesn’t offer a pool and other extras many families like, or a well stocked supermarket, more choice in food etc. However, it is set in a lovely, wooded area and our site was spacious and shady, and well set back from the road so we had none of the noise issues others mentioned. In fact, it was really quiet and we slept very well. The amenities are a little dated but they are really clean. The only negative was the price they charge for the washing machine. At €7 a wash, this was the most expensive we’ve paid on our road trip over the last 6 weeks. If you’re visiting Tours, the bus stop is about 500 metres from the site and takes about 25 minutes. The river is about a kilometre away from the park. We had a very pleasant stay.

Thank Modam for taking time to leave us a nice comment. You have said almost everything. The campsite is situated only less than 2km from a large supermarket and a gas station. On place we have a large selection of pitches suny one, shady one, away from the road so that everyone has the chance to find the right place. If the reservation is made in advance, people can ask for the perfect pitch for them and we are always happy to respect the request. the washing-machine can clean 10kg of clothes so usually, we recommand people to have a lot of clothes to use it. We are happy you had a good time with us and we hope to welcome you again very soon.

I stayed in Les Acacias with my 3years old daughter, and that was the perfect place to rest (quiet, not overloaded, all this in a lovely park) while being close to Tours & the Loire Valley castles. The area is also well known for its wines, and the owners (a lovely couple in their 30's) could give you some tips if you want to visit a "bodega". :)

When we arrived we both got bad feelings about the site but thought we should give it a chance as we had paid for three nights. The first night the music was playing until around 11.00 pm which we thought was acceptable. On the second night the music was playing loudly until at least 2.30am which is definitely not acceptable. The male showers we in a poor state of repair with one shower out of use one in a poor state of repair and one ok. We left after two nights loosing our money for the third night. Next time we will follow our instincts.

Pretty rubbish really, pitches muddy, toilet block no path to building, steep steps with no handrail and no basins with mirrors to shave except in disabled toilet/shower. Only two hot water sinks for washing up.. Site not lighted well, good luck finding the toilet block as no signage. Disabled toilet very long distance from pitches behind bar/restaurent along with cassette waste point. Drinking water points not working.
This site is only suitable for one night stopover going on somewhere else. Gone downhill and really moving towards static provision with campers coming last.

We broke up our round from Calais to Biarritz at Les Acacias and we were made very welcome by Charlotte and Frederic! Late evening pizza and beer revived us on arrival and then waking in such a peaceful place really got our holiday off to a good start. When we returned on our way home we were greeted like old friends and they helped us to find a campsite near Calais for the following night, Charlotte even rang the site and booked us in which was above and beyond! We had pre-ordered bread for the morning which we were very grateful for. The site is clean and well cared for, there is plenty of space and we took a nice walk over the road to the banks of the Loire. Would definately stay here again.

Stopped here on our trip up north, having visited the area we will definitely stay in Vouvray next time. The site was very average as was the greeting, we had to wait for them to finish lunch even though we arrived at 2pm which was the opening time. There was lots of choice of pitch but we were "allocated" a pitch close to the noisy road. As we were end of season there was nowhere open to eat within walking distance. We had a very pleasant walk in the woodland. As previously, Vouvray for us next time, closer to the A10 and looks much more interesting.

All my reviews are based on genuine first hand experience, if this has been helpful to you please give me a helpful vote, thank you 😊

Hello, we are really sorry to hear that you didn't liked your stay here! In any case, next time, you can choose your pitch based on availability. In that way we suggest you to book, even your prefered pitch, because many people really like our peacefull and quiet place, perhaps for the heated sanitary, the hot showers, the wifi, the great location or as we are open all year long... Tha Acacias team also provide you a on site restaurant with local products from april to september, hope to see you there!

We arrived at this site at 1.40 p.m. after 4 days of travelling. There was a queue to get in and when we asked what the problem was we were told they didn't open for admissions until 2 p.m. (we had not been informed of this). By the time they opened the road was completely full of vans and motor homes, and there were irate people trying to get into their homes. We were only allowed in once we'd booked in and when we did get in the site was an absolute mess. We were given an end pitch because we had dogs 'in case they made a noise', which was laughable as we were right by a main road. There was nowhere to eat, but thankfully we always keep emergency supplies in and managed to make a meal. We got very little sleep and to say the least we were glad to get away from the place in the morning. We won't be returning.

Response from malditana, Responsable réception at Camping Tours Les Acacias
Responded 13 Nov 2017
Good evening, We are sorry you had to wait outside for 20 minutes but the reception opens everyday, all year round, from 2pm to 7 pm for admissions. Anyway, we would be pleased to welcome you again at "Les Acacias", and among availability, you would be able to choose a pitch opposite from the road, in the forrest, for a quieter night. And don't worry, Dogs are very welcome on the site. About Food & beverage, we are building a new restaurant that should open in March 2018 (sorry about the mess). We hope that you won't have to use your emergency supplies next time you visit us. If you need any other information, feel free to contact us. The reception is open everyday from 2pm to 7pm. Kind regards

My wife and I stayed for three nights here in our camper van. Friendly reception – they keep your ACSI card until you leave. We had an excellent pitch (no. 34) situated at the end of the site in a large grassy field with no pitches directly in front of us. Many of the other pitches are perhaps a little cramped and overlooked by other vehicles. Trees and small hedges separate pitches. Very good facilities, although a bit of a walk from our pitch, and there was only one facility bloc, not really enough for a relatively large site, particularly if the site is full; however, plenty of toilets and showers (not unisex) and washbasins (two privacy cubicles in the men’s). The showers are hot and offer plenty of space for showering and hanging clothes. There is only one chemical disposal situated at the camper van service area – again a bit of a walk. Wifi is free but we had difficulty getting a signal were we where and had to go closer to the reception area. Some road noise apparent, particularly on a weekday morning. There is a small bar/restaurant that provides a limited menu but does include some very good pizzas. The site is very close to the Loire cycle trail. It is possible to cycle into Tours, around 5 miles along the river path. Overall, a very good site with good cycling and within easy distance of Tours - well worth visiting with its very impressive cathedral.

Stayed here for 2 nights in a pinch at the far end of the site and well away from the road. Advantage was it was very quiet slight disadvantage is that it's a long walk to the toilets and no shade should it be hot. However when we were there it was fine. Shady pitches are mer the road. Facilities are clean And the lady on reception is efficient and helpful.
