We stayed at the Chateau de Codignac on our trip. It hasn't been the first time we stayed there. We had a wonderful room on the first floor. Dinner was superb. We had the menu 'terre et mer' which was amazing. Also the service was exceptionally good and attentive. The food was delicious and the wine we had been recommended... More

Booked in the hotrel on my return from the Minis to Monte event and I needed a place to rest, relax and be pampered. I wasnt disappointed. The room , and particularly the bed were just fabulous. The sheets were silky soft and the room "weird" because of all the old pictures, but it was a restful room. There was... More

What is lovely little gem in Auvergne. One of those small luxury places. Very good staff, friendly and a very good Michelin Star restaurant. The chateau is very well maintained although the rooms are typically French with a bit "overdone French interior". Would love to come back in near future.

We flew here from California for our anniversary as we had been here last year at this elegant, elegant property. Dinner was spectacular as usual in a beautiful setting. Their cuisine is impeccable. Unfortunately, a couple brought an infant to the tiny dining room. That infant cried for virtually the entire two hours we were present. It was obvious from... More

We had a wonderful stay at the chateau. The wine was excellent, and I would advise referring to the sommelier who was great. The staff is excellent as well. The medieval theme was a bit overdone in my opinion for interior decor.

We stayed here on our way back north. It is an impressive place with stunning views but in desperate need of some modernisation. The pool was adequate. No real pool side service to speak of. I managed to flag down a rather tired looking waitress as she reluctantly deposited some drinks with other guests. The bedroom was up several flights... More

Beautiful fairytale castle with gorgeous garden & heated swimming pools and tennis court. Our stay was in the cottage in the grounds perfect for us with our own private terrace. Not cheap but worth it for a special treat. The food is especially fabulous. A great start to our holiday.

This chateau and its surrounding property is exactly what I think of when I picture a French chateau! It is gorgeous, with all of the trimmings. It has been somewhat brought up to date (plumbing, air conditioning, etc) but has some drawbacks (no elevator, and all sleeping rooms are on the upper floors with some very steep and curvy staircases... The staff here are very good, friendly, fun and knowledgable. The rooms are OK, but not great. No showers ? The dreaded shower in the bath must be banned from proper hotels ! The restaurant was quite good, and one night they allowed us to order something completely different - which is nice if you are restricted to only one... More

We stayed here for one night en route to the S.E corner of France given we were keen to try one of the Relais & Chateaux hotels. We were not disappointed. The chateau itself is picturesque and is set in its own grounds in beautiful countryside. The room we had though dark was very atmospheric while the four poster bed... More
