We visited the restaurant of the hotel La Bastide du Calalou for dinner on 19 September 2016. Situated near the Gorge de Verdon in Provence the cuisine is typical of the area. Simple Mediterranean cooking with local produce. Very tasty and good value. Excellent service in a nice airy room. SamLeigh London

Although many of our friends were staying here we were down the road in a Bastide, all coming together for a wedding in Moissac. The family members who stayed here related that it was good. However my family and I had two experiences of the restaurant and we were seriously disappointed. We had a large booking for the families to...

I have a very mixed feeling about this place: some things are great and some are terrible so will try to separate the two. Positive: location is great especially if you want to explore les Gorges du Verdon. The garder is beautiful, comfy chairs everywhere to lounge about under the olive trees. Beautiful heated pool overlooking the valley: we had...

I recommend the hotel: it is located close to a beautiful little village, you have a fantastic view over the Alpes maritimes, the style of the hotel is classic, the rooms are cosy (at least our room), the hotel is well cleaned, the pool is large enough and has sufficient sun chairs and the owners are friendly and apparently trying...

We stayed here for 2 nights this week and found the hotel to be very special. The location is beautiful and the view from our bedroom window stunning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The decor of the hotel is classic, but it is very comfortable, big sinking sofas in the bar area. A gorgeous outside terrace enjoying the...

We had the pleasure of having our wedding at Hotel la Bastide du Calalou. We could not have chosen a better place to celebrate our marriage! The hotel itself is beautiful surrounded by olive trees, herbs and cherry trees. We had the hotel for a whole weekend and we got to know the staff, the manager and the owners. They...

Stayed there for two nights on our trip to explore winter in Provence and enjoy black truffles. We had a phenomenal time! The nearby town Aups is famed for its black truffle market on Thursday mornings. The hotel offers great views and was warmly decorated for Christmas. The stuff was helpful, polite and suggested a nice cafe for lunch on...

I stayed for three days in August at this lovely, out-of-the-way four-star hotel near Moissac-Bellevue and almost didn't find it (even with GPS!) as it's a little off the beaten path. This place is a great base to explore Verdon and it was perfect for sights like the Gorges du Verdon. The basic comfort room was clean and airy, with...
