The location is superb. A little difficult to find but high in the vineyard areas east of Alba. Fabulous views. Room was good. First class bathroom/shower. Good firm bed. Quiet ... there is nothing else around. We dined in the restaurant. The food was good but crazy expensive. And it was that "chef trying to get some Michelin stars" kind...

Located in the Piedmont area about 15 minutes outside of Alba and sitting on hilltop location, the elegant boutique hotel contains old (not quite antiques) furniture and fixtures. The 360 degree view is well worth the drive to the location and an overnite stay. The rooms are large and well maintained. Staff is fantastic in the Michelin tradition (restaurant on...

We selected this Michelin one-star restaurant for our first white truffle tasting experience in Alba and we are delighted to report it exceeded all our expectations. We chose the homage to the truffle menu which looks deceptively like a few simple courses. Little did we know we were in for a truly gastronomic meal from start to finish. The impressive...

Arriving at Locanda Del Pilone is kind of like a dream come true for a wine & food lover. The view is almost 360 degrees from a hilltop with some of the greatest wine ranks in Piedmont. The hotel is like a mansion, very small and with a Michelin star restaurant. We stayed for three days, and the stay was...

We used to come to the Loanda since 4 last years several times, it is always a wonderful moment. We feel like home. The place is very beautiful, the staffs are really kind, but very professional. It is really a palace service in the middle of vines. The restaurant is just impressing, a real sensorial experience that I definitely recommend.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in early October at the start of the white truffle season. This was the second time we've returned to the hotel. A wonderful family style hotel. This time we stayed in the room in the middle of the vineyard rather than the main house. A bit less convenient but the views in...

Charming small hotel (6 rooms) above an excellent restaurant. Stay there only for the latter of course although the views are simply amazing. Restaurant service is very good, wines are fantastic. We think the lodging is quite expensive for what's offered but the restaurant prices are more than fair.

Thought it was a great shame that there was mismatch between such delicacies of the food and in contrast rather careless service. The foods were good - from "surprises from the chef" to main menus (I had veal which was excellent). I would not recommend this to my friends though because the services were disappointing. The team on the floor...

Firstly, I must say that the staff at this hotel are almost all really excellent. The quality of service and training rivals any top hotel in London, New York or Paris. However, I felt that a few things let this hotel down: Firstly, value for money. While being very clean and simple, the rate for the rooms does not reflect...

We have only stayed one night in this gem, located on the hill in the middle of wineyards, but we have enjoyed every minute. Rooms are spacious, full of thoughtful details and beautiful decorations. On arrival we have mentioned that we will be leaving early morning, going to the airport. By the time we have finished our dinner, there was...
