We are three female friends in our mid sixties. We choose Hotel Gritti in a hurry after our first choice of hotel cancelled our booking ( they discontinued their arrangement with TUI )
The hotel was in a perfect position on the lake, the gardens were very well kept and the very long pool, outdoor bar and terrace were lovely. The free use of the ( immaculately kept) Mirabello lido was a big plus for us, a relaxing area to watch the activities and wildlife on the lake. The service was excellent, the mojitos sublime and the sunsets absolutely stunning.
Taking into account mask wearing and language differences, the reception we received when we arrived, tired and hungry, was probably one of the worst greetings we had encountered during our many travels. The whole set up seemed unnecessarily involved, we were given a flimsy piece of paper to be presented whenever we ordered Drinks, food etc. only one per room ! Finding the luggage room was another challenge Beware there are no porters and steps leading up to hotel and lifts, we couldn’t find a ramp. Also make sure you have your little piece of paper stamped cashless and give you credit card details.
The bedroom was basic, clean and quiet. The three of us were in one room, minor niggles included only two cups, glasses, balcony chairs, slippers . We were aware that an additional put up bed would be in the room, but we did expect to be treated like the full paying guest we were. It’s annoying to be constantly asking for items. The housekeeping staff were very pleasant and helpful. Perhaps they could give some tips to the receptionist who met us.
The breakfast was good in the quieter restaurant, large groups were catered for in the Cipriani restaurant. Evening meal was ok a little uninspiring and lacked imagination or any sort of flair. We didn’t have any issues with the restaurant manager that some reviewers have commented on. We were however good girls and did as we were told unlike an unfortunate couple who chose their own table and were told unceremoniously to pick up their plates and move mid meal!
All other staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful,
Would we stay here again ? Yes with some caveats B & B only and choose your receptionist wisely.

Spent a week in Bardolino and we chose a hotel close to the waterfront and with a decent-sized pool. Clearly a building from the eighties, enormous and with pretty gardens inside the hotel complex. Reception staff ok (with one glaring exception), rooms small and bathrooms dated. We stayed in a standard room since they are the only ones that can accommodate an extra bed. Breakfast surprisingly good for an Italian hotel, but we quickly realized why: 99% of the guests are elderly Germans, and I suppose they take breakfast seriously.
Housekeeping managed to think ahead and provide our room with glasses, towels and robes for all three of us without us having to ask. Only two chairs on the balcony though, but a third chair was quickly delivered. The pool bar staff was friendly but the selection of foods quite limited. Avoid their pizza Margherita at all costs, and be aware that the drinks/spritzes are severely watered down.

We first stayed in this hotel on our first trip to Bardolino back in 2011, we have been back twice since, September 2019 and again in July 2022. The hotel has undergone some renovations over the past few years, mainly updating the rooms, which is a lovely improvement making the rooms feel more modern and fresh. Like some of the other reviews, we also did not find the hotel restaurant for evening meals very pleasant. Meals were very repetitive and bland. But, there are plentiful restaurants in town, and we ate there every night. Breakfast was adequate and a good selection, but I’m surprised there still is no option for fresh cooked, like omelette or eggs. The pool bar, is more than adequate for lunch, and be warned, the pizzas are HUGE!. We would order 1 pizza to share, and they would slice it in half and serve on two plates, which was very accommodating. This with a side order of fries, we found very filling until evening meal. Staff are very polite and helpful also. The pool is a fair size, and there are more than enough sun loungers to go around. The main attraction for us staying at this hotel, is it’s location to Bardolino town, especially if you use the side gate by the pool. A very pleasant 10 minute walk along the lake into Bardolino town. In my view, best hotel location in Bardolino. We have also noticed, this hotel gets booked up very quickly. Guess that speaks for itself!

My wife and I booked our stay for a “couple escape” several months ago. The hotel located in optimal atea for access to beaches and Bardolino pedestrian area, where there’s plenty of good restaurants to choose from.
The hotel rooms are nice and clean, but unfortunately that is where the positives stop.
My wife and I wanted to have a massage, but the hotel “SpA” is running half service due to COVID-19, with only one person working there, with service only between 9.00 to 17.00. Also, for the same reason, the gym could be accessed, not the indoor pool, sauna or any other indoor area which should have been available for “leisure activities” at the hotel.
(Which is why my wife and I went for a day at the nearby Aqualux Spa, which instead was running at full service, and where we had a great experience).
Also, breakfast was less than a thrilling experience. The buffet was very basic to say the least, with no much to chose from (you could not even have an freshly made omelette or toast, nor there was a cheese board or fruit bowl to take an apple from, or nuts to put in a yogurt) and quite low quality (“sweaty” cooked ham slices and plasticky sliced cheese to choose from...).
I am a seasoned traveller, and I understand the difficulties of delivering a great experience under the current COVID restrictions, but I have to say that I was not impressed by hotel Gritti efforts and results. This is even more true considering the fact that we were charged the full (pre Covid-19) price, with no discount offered, despite the hotel now making available a fraction of the services and facilities that the original price was meant to buy us...

Stayed here last week after coming here for several times over the last 17 years.if you are over 75 and german you will love it . When we arrived we were given a room with so much overgrown trees etc the room was actually dark ( pictures attached ) so we went back to reception to request another room and was told the only room available would be an extra £210 euros !!!! We paid it as didnt want our holiday spoiling . The staff we encountered were rude and unprofessional and reception staff constantly mutter under their breath to each other which made us uncomfortable. Requested an iron to be told £30 euro deposit which we paid only to come in on the next day to find a note on our bed requesting it back !
The breakfast is served in 2 rooms one shuts at 10 and one at 11 . We were in the one that shuts at 10 and we’re eating breakfast and went to get orange juice and the ignorant waiter had turned everything off and when i ssked for juice he told me CLOSED …. Go next door !!!!! Did he actually expect me to take my plate and finish my breakfast next door … incredulous!!
We booked half board but didnt eat in the evening once as the food looked terrible …
Im afraid this hotel hasnt moved with the times and the restaurant staff uniform looks like they should be working on the Titanic.
On a final note will we return ?
Not a chance !
Should be remamed as Parc Hotel Grotty !!

Arrived at this Hotel to find our twin room that was booked was actually a double. Reception staff very unhelpful but did find us a twin which we rejected as looked out onto a brick wall. We had no choice but to accept a very substandard superior room at an extra cost per night. This so called superior room came with a lot of health and safety problems such as no door on the shower, no grab rail and the hand held shower had no riser pole (photos attached). The water ended up on the bathroom floor and flowed out of the door causing the paint work to flack off. The room was completely inadequate regarding mirrors and lighting and the bedside cabinets were a joke. We booked bed, breakfast and evening meal and the food was of a very poor quality with over cooked meat, soft cold vegetables, not a lot of choice almost the same thing every day. The only good thing about this Hotel is it’s proximity to the Lake and town. The gardens, pool and pool bar were very good as was our Maid who made sure we had everything we needed. With regards to the maintenance of the Hotel there were many hazards such was very dark areas with light bulbs missing. Would definitely not stay or recommend anyone else to book this hotel.

Really cannot find anything to complain about with this hotel. The rooms are cleaned every day unless you don't want it, tea, coffee and milk provided in rooms with little kettle. Not much to find on TV apart from BBC news. Brown bath towels provided in room for you to use by the pool. There are more than enough sunbeds for everyone, around the pool and in the gardens. The food is delicious with lots of choice. Only had two singers on during the ten days we were there, but both were excellent. Bar staff efficient and pleasant. Maybe just a small complaint was the Wellness spa etc wasn't in-hotel, you had to book at Reception to get a massage, but as we weren't that nothered, it didn't really matter. The inside pool etc looked nice. The hotel is dog friendly. It is ideally situated on the lakeside, and just a short stroll into the cafe/shops areas. Would definitely come back.

After having numerous holidays cancelled and plans changed we were just glad to get to Bardolino. Check in was efficient and staff were lovely and friendly. We booked a privilege room which was great, super clean, balcony overlooking the courtyard, mini bar etc. Housekeeping were excellent, room was spotless, clean towels every day. Air con was perfect and nicely quiet so could sleep with it on.
Breakfast is nice enough, yes freshly cooked eggs and a variety would be better but this isn’t really done in Italy (at least not where I’ve stayed). Covid has reduced the ability to provide things like open cereals, nuts, toast and we just have to accept that.
The hotel is in an excellent location with easy walks to the promenade and into town.
I don’t get why swimming hats are necessary? Put me off going in so just sat on side.
Massage was really good, thank you

This hotel really is in a Great location the staff I found are all very friendly and helpful... BUT the food is average and lacks inspiration, the  evening meal was not an enjoyable experience .. meal time is 6.30 to 8.30 by 8.15 you feel staff hovering to take your plates and bang on the dot without fail 8.30 the manager opens the double doors gives the signal,  out come the trolleys and the food taken away in 3 mins flat , one evening it took 4 mins so don't know what happened there ? ( yes I timed them each evening)
You can opt to use the grill bar open 7 till 9 pm but you have to book a table for 7 o'clock we wanted to go at 8 o'clock but was told it has to be 7 o'clock or its not possible?? Even thou its supposed to be open until 9 o'clock?? Not sure what the logic is there obviously just nor convenient for them
Don't expect to have a nice relaxing evening meal they are setting up for breakfast around you by 8 o'clock and make you feel very rushed they want you in and out by 8.30 no exceptions ..
if you do go to this hotel I would be interested if they ever beat clearing the food away quicker than 3 mins it really is poetry in motion and very annoying !
Would I go to this hotel again ... No

The Parc Gritti is well situated just a short walk from the centre of Bardolino. The rooms are comfortable, spacious & clean. We had daily housekeeping and clean towels.
The POOL would be our main concern when on holiday off season. My husband can swim, but isn’t a strong swimmer. He entered the pool by the steps at the far side facing the pool bar. When he pushed off from the last step and then went to put his feet on the bottom he realised he was actually in the deep end. He got into difficulty but there were no obvious floatation devises at the poolside to throw. If it wasn’t for me and 2 other holidaymakers he could have drown. The hotel has advised there is a life guard in peak season and that there is lifesaving equipment on the hut. There was certainly a defibrillator on the side of the hut but no floats or a pole that could have helped rescue him. I feel the hotel could improve on its safety for off peak holidaymakers by having more accessible equipment if someone is in difficulty and also clearer indication of the depth of the pool as most people going down steps would expect to be able to put their feet down on entering the pool.
The receptionists had some English, but not all had a good understanding. We had asked our Rep for bus timetables, which he agreed to leave but when I called at reception I was told they weren’t left. It was only on checkout that we were given them, so I can only assume it was a misunderstanding.
We had half board at the hotel. We had no problem getting seated but men be warned LONG trousers are required for dining at night. We like many other diners were caught out. I feel it’s a bit draconian as most men who presented in shorts were smartly dressed. The food was pleasant but after a week it was starting to feel the same. You can swap your evening meal for a lunch which we did on a few days and the food at the pool restaurant was very good.
On the whole we had a nice holiday as Bardolino is a beautiful place.
Parc Gritti is a nice hotel and perhaps if their arrival sheet had a bit more information on it we would have been better prepared.

A taxi would cost around €70. We got the bus from Bardolino to Verona station and then then aerobics to the airport. We had a three day bus pass that cost €20 per person.
