We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel La Genzianella. I chose it originally because it was top rated by Trip Advisor and was still thrilled that it passed expectations.

The hotel has been newly renovated in lovely alpine style. The entry and bar area are welcoming and a great location for evening drinks or a cup of the delicious herbal tea on offer. Rooms are clean, functional and were serviced beautifully each day.

The multi-generations of the family who operate the hotel ensure it is run to perfection - all staff were friendly, unfailingly helpful and an absolute pleasure to deal with.

We loved our healthy breakfasts, which included local butters and jams as well as just about anything else you could possibly want. Dinners in the dining room were also great value for excellent three courses.

We felt so lucky we chose to stay at this hotel. An easy 200m walk to the main gondola in the morning, with (the future) Olympic downhill bringing you up home in the afternoon, it was also well located. A highlight for us was doing the short day trip to Santa Caterina for excellent skiing on uncrowded slopes finished by an afternoon trip up to the thermal Roman baths. All recommended and booked for us by hotel staff.

We would definitely recommend this hotel.

We came as two avid cyclist who were immediately and warming welcomed and shown the secure bike room, which was video monitored and stocked with all the tools and stands necessary to clean and attend to our bikes.
Our room was a roomy and exceptionally comfortable junior suite that was very clean and appointed with various baskets and closet space that made organizing and storing our gear easy.
As nice as the physical accommodations were, the meals were even better! The five course dinner that was part of our half board package, could not have been exceeded. All ingredients were fresh and exceptionally well prepared. In addition the service was also outstanding!
If i had to list any negatives, it would have to be the weak WIFI signal which made communications for work in the states difficult.
We definitely plan to return to this warm and welcoming hotel that is family run and centrally located in the middle of cycling paradise.

We booked at La Genzianella because it was recommended to us by Megan from Bella Vita Travels and it certainly did not disappoint.

Firstly, the hotel is well located in the centre of Bormio and importantly, the rooms and public spaces are kept exceptionally clean with very stylish touches. We loved our room (travelling with 2 adullts, 2 kids plus another family) as we had separate bedrooms and a lovely big modern bathroom.

The highlight of our stay was the food. It was exceptional. We had booked "mezza pensione" (breakfast and dinner included) and every single night at dinner, and then every single morning at breakfast, we would comment on how amazing the food was. Quality food (think 5 star PLUS PLUS PLUS), wonderful service and they catered to families brilliantly. Our kids also participated in the local mountain bike school campus which was great.

The hotel is well set-up for cyclists, with a large an secure bicycle storage area, facilities for bike wash and maintenance, a great selection of cereals, breads, eggs, coffee and pastries at breakfast, 'cyclists sized' portions at dinner, and even the option of an 'afternoon snack' when you return from those big days in the saddle. Free kit wash daily is another nice touch. Would be nice to have the option to wash your own 'civilian clothes' rather than pay the hotel by the piece. Rooms aren't large but you are only sleeping there anyway, and have a small balcony which is nice on warmer days.

Absolutely the best hotel experience ever! Family-owned and operated, made us feel like family from the moment we walked in. Prior to our stay, reservations and email communications were prompt, warm, and accommodating. Facility is incredible, never seen anything like it for bicyclists: Secure storage room, tools and stands on site, overnight kit laundering. The rooms are beautifully designed and decorated, not huge, but very comfortable. Sparkling clean, well serviced. The breakfasts are lavish, anything and everything you could want. The on-site restaurant for dinner is truly "fine dining," but casual, relaxed, great service, affordable wines. There are excellent bike rental shops short walking distance (I used Spot-On Bike Shop which was superior). Right out the door to wide variety of Alpine or valley road rides. I didn't do any mountain biking, but I understand there are great trails her as well.

Hotel La Genzianella is an excellent family run hotel in Bormio. Any advice I sought both before booking and whilst at the hotel was extremely helpful and freely given. It was clear that the family cared for their patrons and staff and took pride in their hotel. My husband utilized the bike package which was helpful as his cycling gear was returned freshly laundered first thing each morning. He could also have an afternoon snack on his return from cycling and he could safely store his bike in the bike room. The food at the hotel was excellent as were the rooms. There is so much to do in Bormio. It's not just cycling. There are many beautiful walks which the family shared with us and were only too happy to print out maps showing the suggested route. One thing to note was the excellent hairdryers in each of the rooms - such a rarity these days even at many 5 star hotels! (We had our 3 daughters with us) The only criticism I have is that there were no ironing facilities in the room and whilst there was one iron downstairs in the laundry area for guests to use, it was not very good nor convenient. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to family and friends and cannot wait to return myself.

We chose this hotel for the Bormio part of our two week cycling trip in Europe so we could ride the Stelvio and the Gavia. I have stayed in a large number of hotels in Europe on many cycling vacations and the Genzianella is one of my two favorites. The actual hotel in terms of rooms and facilities is fantastic. The service service was exemplary and I particularly love the incredible breakfast spread. As an avid cyclist I especially love the bike room with everything you could want to clean and service your bike. None of the hotels I have stayed in come anywhere close to a bike room like this. They also wash your cycling clothes every night!

I traveled to Bormio on a multi-city stop through Italy and Switzerland to bike some of the classic routes in the Dolomites and Alps. La Genzianella was a perfect hotel for us. As with many European hotels, the rooms and bathrooms were a bit small. Definitely comfortable for 1, a bit cozier for 2. But beyond that, everything was fantastic. For bike travelers, the hotel has a secure (locked, and alarmed at night) bike storage area. Outside of this there's a basic bit shop with a variety of full size tools, cleaners, towels, work stands, etc. Made minor adjustments (disc brake pad replacement in my case) extremely easy. The hotel offers a kit laundry as part of their service - drop off your bag of riding clothes in the evening and you get it back in the morning (hopefully you have more than one kit though). The hotel also has a full service spa, where the sports massage provided welcome relief in the middle of my trip. And of course a coffee machine with about 10 different options from espresso to hot chocolate. Finally, the hotel has its own restaurant (separate from the breakfast area) with excellent meals, plus a full service bar off the lobby, If you're not a bike traveler you might not use the storage area and shop, but this hotel would be perfect for people visiting Bormio for any other reason. It's a very short walk from the center of town, where we also found a few excellent restaurants.

We had an awesome stay at La Genzianella. Bormio is an excellent starting point for various MTB adventures, and the hotel is perfectly suited for bikers. Each day began with a delicious and extensive breakfast. After returning from our tours, we could clean our bikes and store them in a dedicated bike room. The relaxing sauna afterwards was a real treat, and the dinner was fabulous—just great Italian food. Above all, the very friendly and always helpful family running the place made our stay exceptional. I would definitely stay there again.

We booked this resort in order to enjoy the amazing cycling in Bormio. The hotel is perfectly located to enjoy every aspect of Bormio. The rooms are large, well appointed, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. We booked a junior suite which was located in one of the corners of the building and quite spacious. We also took advantage of their cycling package which included a secure bike room with all the tools and supplies needed; daily laundry; and a wonderful snack mid afternoon for the hungry cyclist. We also really enjoyed the half board package where we enjoyed 5 course gourmet meals and impecable service, This our second time staying in this beautiful hotel and we plan on coming back soon.

Buongiorno. Volevo sapere se nella Vostra struttura, sono ben accetti gli animali. Grazie!
Answer from Hotel Genzianella
Bormio, Italy
Perdoni il ritardo! Vogliamo bene agli animali.
