We had a wonderful stay at this property. The pool is beautifully located with amazing Tuscan views. The apartment is cosy and authentic. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming. Finally the location is wonderful with access to many small hilltop villages and also close to San Guimignano and Siena. We would thoroughly recommend staying here.
Go here! Rustic and natural. Every view from the Villa is breathtaking. A beautiful place to unwind in the heart of Tuscany. Lots of little day trips and then return to the Villa and your own beautiful pod and enjoy a beautiful evening of wine and memorable conversation with your companion(s).
Everything you dream a Tuscany Villa to be is Patrignone. Choosing a Villa when planning a trip for many people is stressful. You want the perfect place. It's not like you travel here everyday. Simon made the whole experience so easy. First choosing the place. Patrignone met all the criteria...enough rooms, private Bathrooms for every room, location to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, and our own little town of Castellina in Chianti. A very important part of my trip was the flexibility. I had to plan this before I knew how many people were coming. I guaranteed rooms and then the rest was flexible. I could not have asked for a more patient, accommodating and gracious host. Oh yes and Simon speaks English. That was definitely a bonus. Some perks with Patrignone, Verity (Simon's wife) is a wonderful chef and served us a tremendous Birthday dinner with cake for 21 of us. They also can serve Breakfast if desired and reserved, which we did and was perfect. Simon was invaluable in planning our wine tour and setting up those reservations. Also he helped us with reservations for dinner in Castellina in Chianti. One last thing. The property was absolutely magnificent. The views are breathtaking right from the terrace. The old character of the buildings and the rustic antique decor created the most beautiful setting for such a special occasion. Thank you Simon and Verity for everything!!…
It is a home stay in a farm.We were a group of 13, including children. The reasonable rules were clearly spelt out and we had a fun stay. The suites were comfortable and our common area was large with complete privacy. The view of the rolling countryside was grand, the swimming pool was good,The sunsets were gorgeous. The hosts Simon and Verity were friendly and helpful. AKSrivastava
We were recommended to stay here from friends and we were not let down. The country side and views were gorgeous. We stayed in the main villa with friends - 10 in total and it was very comfortable. The en-suites for each bathroom were great. The kitchen and outdoor areas were fantastic for spending time together and watching the sunset. Restaurants, wineries and towns close by - but you do need to drive everywhere (or book a driver). Verity’s meals were delicious! Thank you Simon and Verity for such a wonderful week!
We visited Tuscany 6 years ago and after a fantastic holiday staying at Podere Patrignone it seemed the natural place to choose again and we weren't disappointed. We love that you are staying in the heart of rural Tuscany, away from the stresses of life, but at the same time you can access all that Tuscany has to offer, Florence, Sienna, San Gimignano etc so easily by car. Then after a busy day site seeing you can relax on the terrace, drinking wine and eating nibbles, with the sun setting. Last time we spent some of our days relaxing by the pool. Sadly, this time the weather wasn’t as good (unusually wet/cool for May) but we could still admire the stunning views across to San Gimignano in the distance. The home cooked meal prepared by Verity, ably helped by Donna, is a must. A beautiful selection of Italian food with the benefit of only having to stumble back to your apartment! We would strongly recommend spending time reading Simon’s ‘Big Book’ as it contains invaluable information and excellent advice on days out. We did trip 1 - San Gimignano, Colle & Volterra - this time. We also tried parking and taking the tram to Florence as suggested in the book. We ate at the local restaurant Pestello, the food and service were excellent so we would highly recommend a visit. We left with our incredible tasting olive oil knowing we had had another fantastic holiday staying in an eco-friendly place (another great reason to stay!)…
Verity, Simon and their two wonderful sons were dream hosts. Amazingly helpful for any request and made us feel absolutely welcome. Verity is an outstanding chef so we highly recommend booking one of her private dinners and eating and drinking all the Chianti and olive oil they make on-site. The rooms are lushly decorated in classic style and the grounds are beautiful. The toys and outdoor space is more set-up for slightly older children who need less supervision (5+) but otherwise perfect for watched toddlers. This is less a comment about their homes, but most of Tuscany. Super delicious restaurants and small villages in short driving distance as well that the hosts can easily recommend.
Staying here was the highlight of our vacation in Tuscany. The moment we pulled in I was awed by the beauty of the landscape. Pictures do not do justice! It was unseasonably rainy during our time there yet everywhere you looked the landscape could be in a postcard. We are planning to go back. Also, the owners were so friendly and warm. They have thought of all the details. We were not able to stop at the store for food before our arrival and we were so hungry. At a time when you just want to absorb the beauty upon arrival we were so delighted to enjoy a fresh loaf of bread, the best olive oil I have ever had, and fresh fruit, along with a complimentary bottle of wine. It made for a perfect moment in time for four weary travelers.
We got to have our dream wedding in Italy all because of Podere Patrignone! For anyone thinking of visiting this magical place or even having your wedding there too, we can't recommend it enough! When we came across this villa online it definitely spoke to us as being a welcoming, laid back, and perfect location to have our destination wedding. When we first reached out, Simon was so organized and you could tell they have been doing this for years and we had very little to worry about. Over the course of a little less than a year, we had a couple of Skype sessions and laid out a plan for our week stay and of course the wedding day. Again, and I can't say this enough, Simon and Verity are so organized with timelines, payments, decorations, etc. that it made the entire process very easy! We ended up having 31 guests and filled up the entire villa so having the additional accommodation was perfect, especially with the different private cottages. From the moment we arrived with a beautiful sunset over the rolling hills and complimentary wine, cheese and freshly baked bread from Verity we knew this place was extra special. Throughout the week we had such a blast traveling to various local towns, renting e-bikes and doing a winery tour, and taking a day trip to the coast. All of these activities happened with the help of Simon and Verity and their recommendations and we were very grateful for their input! Simon even helped us arrange a movie night! Since our party was quite large we cooked twice in the number of kitchens and had wonderful pot-lucks all together. It ended up raining and being quite cold so we moved the wedding dinner and reception inside which was no problem at all and still so lovely! While all of our meals were spectacular by far the best was our wedding dinner cooked by Verity and Dawn and I am still dreaming of the stuffed endive leaves, warm olives, risotto, pasta, and roasted meats. And don't even get me started about the traditional wedding cake (YUM)!! Everything was seriously perfect and a dream come true for us and we can't wait to return!…
Podere Patrignone is a wonderful place, not just to stay at, but to use as a base to explore Tuscany. We stayed over Easter this year and Simon was waiting for us to show us to our accommodation-Stalle and to show us round. The personal touches were lovely, wine, fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, bread and Verity’s delicious marmalade! Their boys (Max and Sam) were very welcoming too and took our children off to explore, so we could start to properly unwind and relax. One of the nights Verity cooked a wonderful feast and all the guests ate together, which was so lovely as all the children really got on too. If ever Simon and Verity were around and we were sat on the veranda, they would have a chat and nothing was too much trouble for them. Their local recommendations for places to eat, things to do, wineries to visit, were so useful and we had such an entertaining afternoon with a local wine owner call Sandro, it really was an excellent and relaxing trip!…
