Rooms small, travellers wanting a single room get just that, a very tiny single bed in a room similar to students quarters! Some other rooms were off a corridor that appeared to be an after thought, no decor in the corridor, doors that looked as if they could be opened with a kick. Furniture looked as if made with MDF.... thanks for your opinion ...sorry but we think that our hotel is a very good 3 stars. It is normally that 4 or 5 stars hotel can offer more facilities but also prices are different Thanks a lot Paola More

Although only rated a three star hotel this hotel offers great rooms for its rating and really good food. The staff were fantastic especially Helena who acted as receptionist, bar lady and waitress. The rooms are basic but very comfortable and like many hotels in Italy they need to have tea and coffee making facilities.

Its a convent from around 1498 in a beautiful setting, clearly visible from the surrounding countryside. We were excited to be eating there and the wait service was excellent. Very old school traditional. The food was good, but no better than other places in the region. The desserts were a highlight and the setting is lovely.

It's first time we patronise the Santa Chiara in June, usually we spend a week in August here. Rooms, services and restaurant are quite good as usual. But this time, the mood at dinner is special: British, French, German and Italian groups enjoy their meal joking , talking together. Great as usual the personnel. Thank you Santa Chiara

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days in order to attend the above concert in his home town of Lajatico. The hotel was ideally situated to visit the Chianti wine regions and numerous hilltop villages. The hotel was excellent value, clean and the staff very helpful during our stay.

Arrived with a coach party. Room small no balcony, however some others in the group did get one and with views of the mountains. Food OK and they did provide free of charge a birthday cake for one of the party. Staff very friendly and i was told there was a good pool but did not use it myself. There... More

2 nights accommodation part of a tour group. Room was dirty, dust everywhere. Bathroom a mess, with toilet seat unfixed (repaired it myself), no soap trays in the shower, toilet roll holder missing and few towels. No air conditioning available, despite high temperatures for time of year. Restaurant staff helpful, but demanding that the hotel tax be paid in cash,... More

We stayed here as part of a tour, and for the most part everyone in our group hated this hotel. My chief complaints were an uncomfortable bed, mediocre food, dated decor and a geriatric atmosphere. The best thing about this hotel, though, is Helena, who works the front desk among other things. She made our stay, despite the fact that... More

We have just come back from the classic Italy Tour (13-20 Sept '14) and stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Enjoyed our stay here. Staff very helpful and cheerful. Very clean, food very good plenty of it. Better than hotel Danier in Sorrento. Maybe they need to come here for a few lessons. Rooms basic and clean showers need... More

Really nice hotel and staff were happy to go out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. As a Coeliac needing a gluten-free diet they were most accommodating. Thank you. If you get a chance visit the local Cantina for a Chianti wine-tasting.
