We got married in September, but wanted to travel to Italy for the honeymoon and decided to do it over the winter season and have a white Christmas as well. The weather didnt play with, and there was only a few little speckles of snow visible, non the less, this didnt stop us from having a great time. Domina Home... More

The hotel is a classic skiing hotel in the middle of Cortina. The front desk staff was very friendly, and the room with balcony was big with a lovely view of the town and the mountains. Good value for money.

We reserved via booking.com on the same day just a few hours before we arrived. What we did not know is that checkin for booking.com is later than usual - between 3-4pm. Staff at the reception was not so helpful. We had a room on the top floor and we had a small balcony with a good view to the... More

We had booked for 2 nights stayed one! No air conditioning. Dated furniture, broken hairdryer, mould in shower, hard bed, smelt musty. Yellow tiles in bathroom and orange carpet. Felt dirty. Breakfast boring. Got stuck in lift for 10 mins door wouldn't open. Don't book here there are better places around.

A group of 4 of us stayed here for a night during a European banger rally. The price was very reasonable, and the 4 person room was clean and well equipped. The balcony views were very good of the mountains on either side, but strangely it only had 1 plastic chair, which for a room for 4 is a little... More

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was Victorian, the bathroom from the 50's with a plastic shower curtain - yuk! Breakfast was a joke, the coffee was awful, the croissant as hard as nails. On speaking to the restaurant staff I was told that they were supposed to be like that. Wi-fi was only... More

Lovely located hotel, not a good hotel if traveling with friends as the hotel does not have single beds in any rooms .our room had a double and a really cheap uncomfortable sofa bed.when asked the manager just kept saying that the booking advert was incorrect that it stated it had single bed option

This hotel couldn't be in a more convenient location. A 2 min walk from the city centre, 3 min walk from the bus stazione, and close to all the central restaurants & osterias. We visited in the summer, and were pleasantly surprised at the incredible value. Rooms are huge and essentially suites with a bedroom, balcony with chairs, as well... More

Good centrally located hotel with very spacious and room with balcony and view of the mountains. Breakfast was great with loads of choice and we didnt feel rushed. We booked the Alaska as it advertised itself as accepting dogs. When we arrived we were told that if we wanted our two spaniels in the room it would cost us another 48 euros A NIGHT!! And for that we still couldn't have them with us at the bar or any public areas of the hotel. AND we were told... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Alaska is synonymous with relaxation and worldliness, a hotel in the heart of Cortina d'Ampezzo , worthy to its location, which is one of the most renowned in the Dolomites. It is strategically situated, within a few steps of those services one should not renounce during a stay in the mountains, such as a ski and mountaineering school, an old church and the historic streets of shopping in Cortina. The gorgeous scenery of the Dolomites stretches all around as far as the eye can see. From the solarium terrace of the hotel the panorama is of indescribable, a generous witness of the majestic beauty of nature beauty. The spacious and bright rooms are warm and comfortable. A refined simplicity inspired by the characteristic alpine style, where wood is predominating and where comfort and wellness are essential factors. From the balconies of these full comfort rooms, you can enjoy moments of absolute peace by admiring the enchanting mountain peaks. Hotel Alaska's cuisine offers its best, with proposals that can satisfy even the most discerning palates. From the morning to the evening sitting at the table will be a pleasure. Mountaineering , alpine and cross country skiing, free ride, snowboard, ice Hockey, the only Italian resort among the 12 destinations of the Best of the Alps to impose itself with a wide range of activities "active profile" and "slow profile", that distinguish themselves by richness and variety, and by a series of great international events. ... more   less
