Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have been coming to this hotel for years, booking from year to year every year. We always enjoyed it, despite some flaws. This morning, however, there was an event that I did not like: practically all the customers of the hotel at 7.30 was waiting to go for breakfast, but the news this year is that it can be done from 8.00. When customers politely pointed out this disservice (the lifts open at 8.20) the MIStress railed with these words: “this is our home and we make the rules! The debate is closed.”
Lady beautiful I would just like to remind you that at your house hosts (for a fee) many people, who keep you going the shack, customers should treat themselves with gloves. I think it’s the first rule of the hotel business. It is not the way to respond, there is way and way. I can give you an example of education, and I do something else by trade, you could apologize and say that for your internal problems this year the breakfast time is postponed. Such a response would certainly have had a different impact on customers. Really sorry, because we have always passed over other shortcomings of the hotel, but on rudeness I do not compromise!
I would like to make a comment instead on the staff, who are very friendly and polite, although it is clear that they do not work in a harmonious atmosphere.

Well located hotel, approximately 500 m walk from the gondola, centrally located at the ski area. Equipped with a swimming pool and hot tub with a reasonable temperature (approximately 28 degrees)
Spacious rooms with good beds.
Excellent breakfast: Kaiser rolls, lots of cake, etc., 2 types of porridge, 1 type of juice from a carton, fresh (cut) fruit, cheese and 3 types of sausage, but no other types of bread.
Good dinner: salad buffet (only oil, no salad dressings); 3-choice menu in the 1st dish (usually quite large quantity, pasta; soup; etc.) and 2nd dish (somewhat smaller quantity but tasty, meat, fish or vegetarian); dessert (dish of the day and choice of ice cream, strudel or fruit salad every day)
Gluten-free food was also possible
The only disadvantage was a chaotic and stressful (main) waitress (especially on busy days). Examples: simply speaks in Italian instead of German or English if she (or we) do not understand something; just put the dishes on the table or we have to pass it on ourselves, 1 person was brought a 2nd dish while she was still eating the 1st dish; is not prepared to exchange the incorrect 1st dish for the dish ordered (in the morning). 5-10 minutes between 1st and last plate delivered per course.

We stay at Maso Weber, the annex of the Royal Hotel. The structure has just been renovated, the rooms are basic but spacious. The location is excellent, a stone's throw from the ski lifts. What really didn't work, in my opinion, is the catering (which is why I gave it this rating). Breakfast is taken at the farm, but for dinner you have to go to the Royal. Breakfast is rather poor, only one type of bread (total absence of the delicious local breads), little choice in savory foods (only cold cuts and one type of cheese), the quality of the food is not up to the local excellence. The same goes for dinner. The cuisine is subpar, the service completely disorganized, honestly of all the hotels I've frequented in Corvara this is the one where I ate worst. It's a shame because it would be enough to raise the level of service and food a little to make it an excellent establishment.

Excellent location, slightly outside the center and very close to the ski lifts, the Royal hotel offers us a 360° view of the mountains. The welcome from Anita and her mother is cordial and precise in informing us of the times of breakfast, dinner and the wellness center which with sauna, hydromassage and swimming pool, and towels available for guests, is a welcome optional, included in the price that other and more titled structures do not offer.
The room was spacious. with balcony and large, new bathroom, cleaned daily and towels changed.
Rich savory and sweet breakfast with homemade cakes and tarts.
The dinner also offers local cuisine which is always varied and plentiful. A large lounge to meet up after dinner, an equipped garden, private parking and a large porch complete the possibilities we had during our stay.
We like to remember the courtesy and availability, in the various tasks, of the girls on the staff: Isabella Cristina and Iola. After 23 years we returned to the Royal this summer finding the same education and professionalism of the Owners in a renovated, larger and more modern structure that has nothing to envy of more "entitled" structures
In short, 10 out of 10!

People is nice and friendly, Rooms are clean and restaurant is ok!
Do not count too much on the spa because you have to pay and it is under organized ( no towels, no slippers, etc.); forget about WiFi and internet because it is available (if it is) only within a few meters from the main reception desk (definitely not in rooms and restaurant); tv channels are invisible.

Response from Reinhard P, Proprietario at Royal Hotel

Dear guest, thank you for your feedback. We wish to clarify some details about your review. First of all, about the spa: inside the offers we send to customers is pretty clear that the spa is a paid service. You can find the towels directly in the relax area. About the wi-fi: it's a free service avaliable to all guests and you cand find it in public areas of the Hotel. This service guarantees access to the network to those who need it, and in the same time, the absence of a big repeater guarantees an useful "detoxification" by magnetic waves. We hope to have clarified these points and we would be really happy to have you back as a guest.

A friend and I stayed at the Hotel Royal dependance Maso Weber. We were there for 4 days due the Maratona dles Dolomites. The big cycling event in the Dolomites. We slept at the Maso Weber and had our breakfast and Dinner at the Hotel Royal. The rooms where good, clean and big enough to also store 2 racing bikes, although they also offer a locked room for the bikes. The breakfast was plenty and the dinner of a very high standard! The location of the Hotel is ideal for the Maratona, as the finishline is just across the road !

I would certainly recommend the Hotel again, and I will also book it again if I enter the Maratona again.

We stayed there in Feb 2019 as a family of 4 and had a great time. Just a few minutes walk up to the ski school (where we used the ski lockers, to avoid carrying skis for small kids). The room was spacious and very clean and with plenty of storage space for clothes for a week. Bathroom was good with a fairly big shower, plenty of towels changed daily and kept clean by the team. Breakfast was OK, could be more, but it's good enough. Dinner had a good selection of everyday dishes which kept everyone fed (kids especially, including Pasta, Schnitzel etc) and the daily specials kept it different, even if we didn't like the daily special sometimes. Food was nothing to write home about, but good enough. To be honest, after having a great lunch on the slopes we're not so hungry in the evening anyway.
Service was very friendly and the wine list wasn't overpriced.
Pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam were good - kids welcome, but it's not a place for jumping and playing in the pool - but very good to relax after a days ski. (and no extra charge for this)
There is also a games room downstairs with table tennis and table football, along with an other area suitable for playing card games, board games etc.
We've booked again already, as it's good value, excellent location and the team made us very welcome.

The hotel it's a very good mix from location, services, position in the valley, food and price point of view. From the back of the hotel you can immediately reach streams and woods and the hotel it's very good for disable people too.

Pros: location, ample free parking, spacious rooms, decent breakfast, dinner above average for a 3 star, waiters (Ariel and his cousin) friendly and kind!
Cons: SPA unusable due to the cold water (not lukewarm, really cold) of both the swimming pool and the hydromassage, sauna and Turkish bath at minimum power (if not even turned off), so much so that you don't even sweat.
But I gave the 2 votes less not so much for this (however serious) disservice, but for the absurd behavior of the owner, capable of generating a very bad climate of tension with the customer, which reverberated over the entire duration of the stay .
In fact, upon our request for clarification (given that their website describes the spa as a relaxing oasis thanks to the hot water of the hydromassage) he takes it very badly and, at first, refers to alleged and not credible "measures of the health authority which oblige keep the water cold to avoid the proliferation of bacteria" and then, when I ask him to show them to me, invite us, if we were not happy with how the hotel is managed, to leave the room within a few hours. From the series "in my house I decide and the customers must remain silent, silent and resigned". By the way, reading other reviews, it's not even the first time this has happened.
