There is a review saying 'be aware' which is justified. This is not a villagio for people expecting 5 star treatment or services. It is however, a wonderful resort village with lovely people running it. OK maybe it is a little tired but so what. The grounds are lovely. The apartments are a little old and the windows don't close properly. There isn't air conditioning as standard, but there is a beautiful piece of countryside outside the complex. There is a beach, admittedly in need of tidying up but still lovely, The restaurant serves a standard meal menu but try asking for something else and they do their best. The pizzas are wonderful by the way, as well as anything fish related (most of the menu). The house red wine is more like a Lambrusco - slightly frizzante rarther than a full bodied red. The animation team Peter Pan are delightful and they try to make your stay worthwhile. some of them speak very good English - Asja in particular who is a delightful girl.. Sviat on reception is... We have just returned from a week at the Club Residence Capopiccolo and found the experience and the area hugely disappointing.

Of course we were there at the end of September into October so we expected it to be quiet , but the area and the resort was absolutely dead - nearly everything was closed and it was difficult to even find a restaurant that was open. Not having crowds around can be a relief but in this case it made for a very lonely time. Most locals speak no English - we knew that in advance and it was part of the experience and fun but you should be aware of it .

The Residence closed for the season on the day we left and we were two of a handful of people there, and were put right in accomodation on theoutskirts of the resort (along with a young couple, who were equally disappointed). It was like the opening scenes of I Am Legend and very unsettling. The main member of staff we dealt with was fine. the Club did want to charge us 50E each for basic...

“Ask for a room that either overlooks the central garden area with a balcony or else for one on the ground floor that has a veranda. Don't let them give you a room in the corner with only a courtyard for an outside space. You need to ask for rooms with a P after the number e.g. C8P There is a C* but this has a virtually covered small patio, C8P is above it and has a good sized patio.”
