We only stayed one night, so take that into consideration when reading this review. This traditional hotel had some charming features from years past that must have been the utmost modern conveniences in their day, such as intercoms. Now they are a charming curiosity. The location was central and convenient. The staff was accommodating. The bathroom was spacious, if a... More

This hotel is very well positioned for exploring this overlooked city. A short walk from a public car park, and less than 200yards from the main square. The rooms are of good size and there is a pleasant breakfast room, but no proper lounge and no dining room. However, there are a number of first rate restaurants near by. This area of... More

The location was perfect for visiting Grosseto and the neighbouring cities, Siena, Rome, Florence as the hotel is close to the railway station. The staff was very helpful , the room clean and the breakfast wonderful.

We spent three nights here on a coach tour and didn't know what to expect as some travel guides don't rate grosseto very highly.Lovely hotel in a great position within the old city walls nice bedroom, nice breakfast, ideal for exploring the old city with bars and restaurants on your doorstep. Loved Grosseto what ever the travel guides say.

We had an excellent stay at the Bastiani in July 2015. The hotel is small and probably the nicest in the old town. Traditional and impeccably clean. The beds are large and the linen soft. Modern bathroom. Air conditioning! Breakfast is generous continental with small fees (3 euros) for eggs/omelettes. Wifi worked well and unlike someone else wrote, it does... More

Grossetto is a interesting city off the tourist trail with a charming ambiance. We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel at the start of an escorted tour. The hotel is in a very favourable location within the city walls and is an easy stroll away from all the interesting places. Our 3rd floor room was quite compact and was tastefully... More

This was our first hotel on a tour of Tuscany. It is a lovely building with well-proportioned public and private rooms. The service from all the staff - cleaners, breakfast staff, reception staff was excellent. It's location is brilliant, being within the city walls and within easy walking distance of anywhere you might want to visit. A short distance after... More

The Grand Hotel Bastiani is in a very good location, within the city walls and close to the centre of town. The rooms and interior are dated but I had a pleasant stay. The bathroom was very good and the breakfast was nice.

Great hotel inside historic wall. High ceilings, beautiful decor and furnishings. Friendly reception staff. Cold buffet breakfast but we knew this beforehand. Still put on a nice spread. Walking distance to restaurants and shops.
