I had an absolutely lovely two night stay at Razza del Casalone last summer. I'm just reviewing now the properties I could not get out of my mind and this was one. The property maintained the charm of an old farmhouse, but was updated just enough to be comfortable. The room was clean and had the basic amenities for for...

This is a lovely property with spacious rooms, a lovely pool and barbecue area, and close to good beaches (if you have a vehicle). There was a nasty smell in a couple of the toilets, and we were bitten very badly by mosquitoes (apparently this is a common problem in Italy, so bring repellent). However, the problem that really spoilt...

My husband and I had a beautiful romantic stay at Razza del Casalone. Wonderful reception, facilities, and location. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking. There was plenty of space outside where you can grill and to eat at one of the many tables. The pool was great for an afternoon swim and...

First the good. The building is in great shape inside and out. The furniture is nice. The grounds are vast, so there's lots of room for kids to run around. The swimming pool is clean and of a decent size. The staff are helpful and polite. Now for the bad. 1. There were quite a lot of mosquitos. 2. Our...

After nearly 3 weeks in Europe in crowded noisy small accomodations, Razza del Casalone was a real treat. You can easily take a taxi from the train station, but you would be better off with a car here. We are used to walking everywhere so it wasn't a huge deal, but it's a kilometer to anything else. They have bikes,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Razza del Casalone is an elegant farm house with a swimming pool and a 2 hectare garden in the heart of the Maremma Toscana. The estate consists of a XVIII century building with five apartments (most without air conditioning) and also seven identical apartments (all with air conditioning) in what were once the stalls of the ancient Razza del Casalone horse breeding farm. On the ground floor, a large and comfortable arched hall of about 150 m2, with an original brick floor, a fireplace and reading corner is at our guest's disposal and can accomodate groups for meals. ... more   less
