Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have stayed at this excellent hotel many times before, but July 2023 was very very hot, 35-40 degrees C, In addition to the very clean, quiet room, good shower, excellent breakfast and superb staff, this time I appreciated the really effective air con, especially in our room.

What a fantastic hotel in the heart of imola, location is spot on ,the rooms are spotlessly clean, fantastic shower ,the breakfast was great plenty of choices of cold meats, cheese bread, fruit cereal ,and cakes but the biggest asset to this hotel is the fantastic staff they have ,the people behind the desk, the waitresses, to the cleaning staff, I would definitely recommend this hotel ,and I will be staying there again next year super friendly

I only slept here for one night. The bead sheets were clean, there was hot water all day and night. They don’t have a elevator, the furnish is oldish’, is like a time portal so when you enter you feel in the ‘90s. The rooms are located in two different buildings and if you are not lucky you get the ground floor room, so you can here the traffic that is on the street at 5am. Otherwise the food at the breakfast was good and the staff is really friendly.

Convenient location, spotlessly clean, good breakfast. The staff were fantastic! I wish every hotel had staff that friendly and helpful. We booked directly through the hotel's website without any porblems.

We stayed for 2 nights in August whilst visiting family. The hotel was easy to find and we were able to get free parking outside. The hotel staff were fantastic - really helpful, friendly and accommodating. The room was quite basic in style but was super clean, had excellent air-con and a fridge. No kettle for tea making, which would have been welcome and no view but that wasn't really expected anyway. The bathroom was small but spotlessly clean and full of fluffy towels with a very good shower! The breakfast was very generous, loads of choice and available until 10.30! They also provide bikes for free which were great to use as Imola is very bike friendly. We though it excellent value for money and would very happily recommend!

Driving from airport managed to get toll card left over (not meant to happen) hotel staff sorted it out for us telling us exactly what to do on the way out. Found hotel with no trouble (had sat nav) Some parking spaces out the front free parking and also some to pay for. All free over night (from 7pm till 8am I think). The hotel does have a small parking area which is locked up securely. The reception girls spoke excellent English and couldn’t have been more helpful throughout are stay. The room was very clean, locker easy to use, TV (didn’t use) and a fridge (in the cupboard, leave the door open fridge works better with ventilation) Only two issues 1; only one plug available to use and 2; no kettle or mugs for making hot drinks. Bathroom; good size shower cubicle with excellent water pressure. Sink positioned over mirror with light and a hairdryer. The location couldn’t have been better across the road from the castle and a 5 to 10 minute walk leisurely to the square passing many cafes and ice cream/cake shops. The tourists information building is near the square also. The race track was about 25 minutes leisurely walk. Lovely breakfast not cooked all fruit, cereal, biscuits, bread with choice of honey/jam, ham, cheese, yogurt and juice available. Not forgetting the fabulous coffee available thought the day. In the afternoons snacks available with drinks (crisps, nuts and olives) all very nice. Can’t impress enough how great hotel and it staff was. Many thanks for a great holiday.

I stayed at Hotel Zio in December 2017; my first visit ever to the city and region. The hotel was easy to find, even at night when I arrived, and is within walking distance to both local scenery (like the castle) and the town center. The hotel itself is nothing special; looks nice, feels clean and well-maintained, and comes across as a 3-star in every way. The staff, however, is absolutely fantastic. During my three-day stay there were at least four different people behind the counter, and every single one spoke English fluently, made every effort to make my stay top notch, was very helpful when it came to arrangements, guidance and tips, and every one was always smiling. It was a true delight. I would definitely recommend the Zio for anyone coming to Imola on a budget and depending on local pointers to get around. Many other hotels should take note.

Hotel Zio has been my home for 2 months due to a professional training in Imola. I've been changing four rooms during this period and slept comfortably in all of them, though I find the top floor ones are the cutest (attic-like). Personnell always very friendly and kind since the first day I arrived. City center, supermarket, pharmacy etc. all within easy-walking distance (train station at 30' walking distance). Good breakfast and cleanliness.

We booked Hotel Zio last minute due to its location. It's the American equivalent of a much cleaner Comfort Inn. The women at the front desk were helpful and happy. Our room was standard European size small which was fine because we were only staying a night. The bathroom was equally as small but everything was clean and their was plenty of hot water.
