Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We came to Imola to visit friends who graciously put us up in hotel Zio for one night! Hotel Zio is ldeally located within walking minutes to the historic town of Imola where there are wonderful shops and restaurants. Also, the hotel provides bikes, if you prefer to bike to the town.

The staff were very gracious and helped us with our bags since there are no elevators to the second level. The room was very clean and the airconditioner was a bonus since Imola can be very hot and humid in the summer. The beds were very comfortable which was a bonus!

Breakfast was very good with fresh fruit, eggs, meats, cheeses and a variety of cereals. Also, there is a grand espresso maker to accommodate your needs!

Every year, when I visit Bologna for business, I stay in nearby, and beautiful pictoresque Imola at the hotel Zio. I have stayed there five times now.
The hotel Zio is a GREAT hotel within 10-15 minuters walk from the trainstation.
The service is superfriendly, the rooms are clean and nicely decorated and the roomprice is very reasonable. That includes a very nice breakfast. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel Zio has been my home for 2 months due to a professional training in Imola.
I've been changing four rooms during this period and slept comfortably in all of them, though I find the top floor ones are the cutest (attic-like).
Personnell always very friendly and kind since the first day I arrived.
City center, supermarket, pharmacy etc. all within easy-walking distance (train station at 30' walking distance).
Good breakfast and cleanliness.

my husband and myself stayed at the hotel for the world superbike weekend. The hotel is around 15 mins walk from the race track so is an ideal base. The young lady fredricka had an excellent command of English and was charming and helpful with any questions we had. There is a supermarket just across the road and the charming town centre a short walk away with plenty of places to eat and drink. The hotel is clean and quiet the breakfast was good. We were surprised that nothing was 'going on' in the town after the racing it was as if nothing had happened ! but don't let that put bike fans off!!! we would recommend hotel zio and hope to return.

Very nice hotel, staff was extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful in making sure you were comfortable. Frederica made my stay in Imola more than pleasant I will never forget how accomodating she was to me. Coming from USA and speaking very little Italian, her English was outstanding. Because of her I had an enjoyable stay in Italy and at Hotel Zio

Along with some friends I stayed for 3 nights when visiting the motor racing circuit. The owner and his charming daughter are very hospitable and have many tales of the days when GP stars stayed there in the 80s.
The hotel is within walking distance of the station and the circuit and is even close to the historic centre of town. There is a bar and a supermarket just around the corner, so the location could not be better.
We slept well, which is always a bonus in Italy.

This is a very nice Hotel. We had an quiet and interesting room, with a marital bed upstairs on a gallery. Had a good sleep there!

Contra:
no moskito nets in the windows

BUT

Pro:
nice, attentive personnel
Properly working air condition
2 TV sets in the room
Free bikes
Supermarket 50m away
Limited parking space
Lovely historic city center. 5 minutes by foot

I would choose this Hotel again anytime!

The Zio is not too far from the station and only a short walk into the historic centre, where there are many restaurants etc. We found the staff very friendly and communication by e-mail was always promply replied to.

I stayed for a few nights in this hotel, and rather enjoyed myself there. It was comfortable enough, if a bit small, and my only real complaint was that there was no elevator, and the staircase was quite steep. Thankfully, my room was right by the staircase, so I did not have to haul my abysmal amount of luggage too far, but it was still quite a hindrance, and definitely not worth the price we paid. The breakfast was simple but delicious, and the hotel itself is located very near the city centre, and surrounded by an array of interesting shops beside, as well as providing free parking, but I would try my luck at another hotel if I ever wander back through Imola.

I've stayed here twice for two weeks each time since it's close to my daughter's apartment in the center of town. Within two days the staff gets to know you and your morning coffee preference. The only oddity is that the newer half of the hotel is across the street and must be accessed through a tunnel! Rooms are OK, but the shower is pretty tight. All rooms smell a bit of smoke.
