The Bull Aubarge has captured the hearts of guests, who often commend the inviting atmosphere of its rooms, underscored by soft beds and a serene environment, albeit with a few nods to the decor's vintage charm. The cleanliness of the hotel garners consistent applause, with rooms described as immaculate. Service at the Auberge is another highlight, with personalized attention that leaves a lasting impression. While the rooms earn rave reviews for their comfort and tidiness, and the food and service provide excellent value, some visitors note the range of amenities could be broader.

We have had the good fortune of visiting this little gem ‘restaurant with rooms’ 3 times. Jake & Katie are so welcoming and now feel like friends. The food is AMAZING, fine dining, easily comparable to far more expensive places with famous executive chefs who shall not be named! I like to try something I’ve never had before because I know it will be cooked to perfection. The rooms are lovely, the beds are the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in and breakfast is delicious. This is the perfect place to go to relax & recharge your batteries. We can’t wait to go back.

Room Tip: Plenty of parking. Nice places to go for a stroll. Pretty thatched church a short walk away.

My wife and I had a fantastic one night stay here. We had a great room and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful especially when contacting them regarding taxi services. I thought it was great value for money and including a brilliant custom made breakfast the following morning. We shall definitely be back! Thanks.

We stayed here for my birthday. The room was so beautifully decorated, the huge bed was comfortable and the bathroom had the biggest, best shower we have ever seen, and we have seen many in prestigious Hotels around the word!
Our rate included a three course dinner. This was so well cooked and presented. We enjoyed very mouthfull. So did the rest of the dining room , which was full. I didn`t see one plate go back that wasn`t empty. Breakfast was delicious, with locally sourced ingredients. We didn`t eat for the rest of the day.
The owners of this hotel and restaurant are lovely people, intent on giving a good product, whether it be the room or food.
If you want good accommodation, food at a very reasonable rate ,you will be delighted with this lovely venue.
We will certainly go there again.

We originally booked for our wedding anniversary but unfortunately one of us was ill on the day. We asked to rebook and they were refreshingly accommodating, arranging another date for our stay without quibble. The room was spotlessly clean, well equipped (amazing shower) and tastefully decorated. We loved the food, the menu was original and the daily specials provided some exciting and genuinely enticing options. The service was outstanding, I recommend arriving 40 mins early for your meal, as the bar provides a charmingly intimate opportunity to chat with the staff (owners) and enjoy a perfectly prepared Gin & Tonic. Breakfast was, well, perfect. Looking forward to our next visit.

Went here for the second time for my fiancé’s birthday. Katie, Jake and Lee all remembered us and made us feel so special. We were welcomed with a coffee on the house while our room was double-checked and then relaxed in our beautiful four-poster bed, perfectly clean room for the afternoon before dinner of a free amuse bouche of beef carpaccio for Steve and onion bhagee for me and freshly-baked bread rolls with cream cheese and chives and olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Then the Birthday Boy had the rack of lamb and I had the vegetarian option of gnocchi for the first time. Then they surprised us with a free Birthday Dessert and we were just blown away. Steve said it was a wonderful birthday and we still had the amazing cooked breakfast to look forward to the next morning with vegetarian sausages especially for me.
We really love this place, everything is perfect and everyone is so kind and attentive you just feel really special. If we didn’t have our camper van in which to drive home we would have floated home. Many compliments to the Chef and we can honestly recommend a stay, you won’t regret it. We shall be back as soon as possible, with love from Soo and Steve xx

We stayed overnight for our anniversary, we had a beautiful deluxe double with 4 poster bed, Nespresso machine was a welcome touch. We enjoyed a few drinks from the well stocked bar when we arrived made all the better for the glorious weather in the garden area.
Room was comfortable, well stocked toiletries, and although on quite a busy road we couldn’t hear anything in our room.
Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Would highly recommend!

Dear Kristina, Was our pleasure to host you for your anniversary and it always fills us with joy when our guests are able to experience everything we truly have to offer here at The Bull Auberge, from the rooms, to the outdoor space and an evening in the restaurant. It is always very deceiving how we very quickly become hidden from the road and we pride ourselves on a comfortable night stay. Until next time, Jake and Katy

From the moment we arrived we felt at home and relaxed. Everyone we came across at The Auberge had a smile and gave great service. The breakfast was possibly the best I have had - everything piping hot and freshly cooked. Could not fault it. We had 2 evening meals which were also excellent. Great choice of local and homegrown food. I’d love to say this was a rubbish stay, so that it stayed a best kept secret! We will definitely be returning, if they’ll have us! (We also took our 2 yr old dog who had an equally fabulous time.! Lovely morning walk up the lane!). If you’re wondering whether to book, press yes now!

We (husband and I) have had a fantastic albeit relaxing five nights at the Auberge staying in a family room with our 5yo. Everyone at the Auberge was friendly, welcoming and attentive. It is family friendly for children (they even let our Daughter pick some veggies from their patch for her dinner). I honestly cannot fault them, room was clean, luxurious and spacious. Breakfast and evening meals were delicious with a great wine selection. It is definitely on our list of “planning to come back”. We left feeling part of the Auberge family, just the break we needed. Thank you all at the Auberge for such a lovely stay.

What a wonderful place, beautiful bedrooms, we had the four poster room. Spacious and not a cheeky bed frame as some can be. All amenities were there. Bathroom provided re-fillerable bottles so very good on no plastic waste. Loved the restaurant, absolutely outstanding meal and breakfast. Excellent to see the vegetables grown on site by them and seeing the chef out picking fresh fruit and veg for the days menu . Would definitely recommend even just for a meal. The staff, Lee and Jake were very friendly and accommodating taking the time to chat. Loved it . We’ll be back

We enjoyed an amazing meal
at this lovely little restaurant with friends. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Jake, the owner, who was happy to share his and his wife’s culinary journey to their new venture. All our (mostly
home grown) food was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented and every plate was cleaned by our hungry party. The wine list is small but perfectly formed. Highly recommended by 4 fussy diners!!!
