Booked 6 nights National holidays-Rome and a taste of Italy. Day 1 So set off at 3am Sunday morning picked up at Bolton bus station , travelled down to Dover to get ferry ⛴ into France 🇫🇷. Got to the hotel in france at 11.45 pm late. important point if your going ,packs over night stop bag so your not having to unload your suitcase from the bus. Hotel was ok as best clean but very small bed hard not the great. Breakfast was of a continental nature, bread 🥖 and a cold coffee . Note 📝 travelling to this point was 20 hours 3 breaks , I must tell you all I did not realise it was going to be tale long. Coach was full I’d not Advise any old people to take this holiday . For the few elderly couples it was to much at this point and we still had 13 hours to go that was just to reach the hotel . Day 2 Set of at 9am took till 10 pm to reach the Hotel Byron. Few point pack a few bits for the trip down or buy in France , Switzerland 🇨🇭 stop was shockingly pricey. £40 for x 2 burger 🍔 kings. At this point we just wanted bed 🛌 and yes it was a cheap hotel 🏨 but I’ve got to tell it as I see it. Shocking beds they was almost impossible to sleep in and no hot water 🚿 and pressure in the shower . Tiny room and just scummy really. Not expecting 5 star but I’d have shut the place down. Booked a hotel 🏨 a few minutes away on travel. Com , much better basic 3 star cheap but clean and beds super comfy . Day 3 Up at 8am for breakfast away at 9am to get to Florence for about 10am . Only good things to say about the place good food 🥘 loads to do. We visited Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence, Florence, Italy. where is michelangelo buried 8 euros to get in good few hours looking around excellent. Day 4 Rome lol They tell you it’s a extended day in Rome well what’s extended it the travelling . It’s 4 hours 30 minutes to get the the Vatican fro the hotel . So up at 3am to set off at 4am to land at the Vatican fur around 9am if your lucky . Great day loads to do just a shame the travelling wipes you out. So the colosseum , the Vatican and the fountain ⛲️. Set of back at 4pm got back to hotel around 8 pm no stop . 5 course meal in the hotel we abandoned, was surprisingly ok , as in eatable. Only had it this night other nights eat out. Day 5 Pisa set of at 11am to get the around dinner time. Only 1 hour drive. Excellent day loads to see and do so relaxing and it was needed with all the travelling. Day 6 home 🏠 same as day 1 and day 2 nightmare on the bus for day. Summary I understand it’s a bus holiday I booked it lol 😂 but it was to much , trust me get on booking . Com and fly in you times worth more. The hotel was just bad and I’m not speaking about it’s a cheap hotel what did you expect. We booked one minutes away and abandoned this hotel the first night . It was 3 star cheap but excellent as in clean and a good bed that’s what I expected. Id not come on this trip again but for sure Italy 🇮🇹 is brilliant and I’m coming back so much to see and do. Hope it helps a few people this weight up , all the guys on the bus and people we met kinda made the bus ride bearable

I have to say that I was expecting the worst after reading previous reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. We had no problems with the staff and didn't find any of them rude. Unfortunately we saw some of the guests being rude to staff so is this why they found the staff to be rude in return? Yes, the food was basic but we found it more than adequate, in fact we quite enjoyed it. No, there wasn't a great selection for breakfast but it was advertised as continental and that's what we got. Some on the trip were complaining that there was no bacon or eggs but you very rarely get that with continental. No, there were no drinks facilities in the rooms but the hotel does not advertise that it does. Yes, the travelling was extensive but when you book you know that's what you're getting so you can hardly complain, the itinerary is well laid out for you! For the price paid we thought it was fantastic value for money. It has also got to be said that the drivers Michael and John were fantastic.

We asked the young man for a iron he came out with a Knife waving it at us we then questioned him he got aggressive and angry we put a complaint in customer service is poor.. breakfast repetitive and simple o really hoilday was good except the hotel.

The trip was called Rome and a taste of italy and we travelled on a seven day tour with national lcoaches We first stayed overnight in France at a basic but reasonable hotel in Metz called hotel modern.before traveling through Switzerland stopping off for a toilet break and were given 20mins to freshen up then on to Italy where we stayed at the hotel Byron in monticatini possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in ,the staff were arrogant to the point of being rude ,the meals were poorly cooked and largely inedible .The coach trips were long sometimes we were traveling up to six hours to our destinations setting off at 5.00am with 20 minutes breaks not nearly long enough for a coffee and to use the toilets before rushing back to the bus.,we were given the option of tour guides at our destinations for 20 euros but were a total waste of time because the older people could hardly keep up with them.although the tour was for seven days four of them were spent on the bus.

I stayed here as part of the Rome and a taste of Italy with National Holidays. The external part of the building looked sad & tired however the internal reception areas were clean and bright and welcoming (but felt like I was transported back to the 1980’s). The hotel room was very basic but it was clean, the decor was tired and out dated. It seemed that there had been an attempt to modernise this hotel but they didn’t quite get it right. If you are looking for average or basic then this is the place to stay. The breakfast was a standard continental which was fine by me and expected, however as always with the English the rest of the coach trippers complained that it wasn’t a full English, really fellow brits you are not on holiday in good old Blighty they are not going to serve you a full English!! The evening meal was edible but basic I read other reviews before going so expected the worse. I ate out on the final day as I wanted more choice and to eat a better quality meal, there are lots of restaurants near by to eat in. The Italian lady on reception was very pleasant, welcoming & polite, the dining area attendant thought she was running the breakfast/dinning room with military precision bossing everyone around but unfortunately very clueless and disorganised. Overall go with the expectation that this is an average hotel with basic facilities and food and you won’t be disappointed, having higher expectations than this and you will be left feeling let down.

First impression of Byron Hotel , nice and clean . Staff on arrival not particularly inviting , lift inadequate size. Room very clean . Lovely white linen and towels. Strange shower with half door sort of fixed and spasmodic hot water which needed to be dodged periodically. Continental Breakfast OK as there isn't much you can spoil there. Two evening meals very basic and not very well cooked, service very erratic . Faulty Towers came to mind quite often. Our toilet gushed water out of the pipe when flushed and it took two days to get it repaired. The chamber maid(who did a brilliant job) had her work cut out replacing soaking wet towels used to lag the pipe. The staff were quite miserable looking and not very friendly apart from Paola who welcomed us into reception on our last day . I thought I had walked into the wrong place. It's an alright place fir a bed and breakfast base but not if you are looking for a pleasant and relaxing holiday experience.

Me and my partner stayed here as part of the Rome and a taste of Italy tour. The room itself was ok, good air con, comfy bed, shower room ok apart from the occasional burst of boiling water whilst having a shower. Very dated and could do with a make over. The breakfast wasn't too bad, juice tasteless but good for hydration. Coffee machine was very good with various choices. The evening food was not very good. The starter of leek and potato soup was nice, the main however, was disgusting. A small piece of pork with chips that didn't looked cooked and a portion of peas, each pea looked a different shade of green and some sort of sauce. A lot of people were not happy with the main. Pudding was apicot tart that was fairly nice. We were due to have another evening meal at the hotel but went out instead. Staff were mostly pleasent. I would probably stay at another hotel if I was to return to the area.

We stayed as part of a National holiday tour using this hotel as a base for our tour,on first impression the hotel looked from the outside like a proper Italian building with shutters on the windows and spread over four floors with a small enclosed veranda around the front and one side of the building.inside it has a large seating area with a small reception and a small bar area to the side. There was a small lift to all floors and a marble staircase which also went to all floors. We had a double room with en suite bathroom which had a shower cubicle toilet and bidet, the shower head leaked and spread outside the cubicle and wet the floor, the toilet was close to the wall and the seat was loose however the water was nice and hot and there was a hair dryer and adequate lighting in the bathroom. The beds were two singles pushed together but they were huge in size and were very comfortable. The room furniture was blue with reddy orange curtains there was a safe but we did not use it so I do not know how much it cost to use ir. The air conditioning was set underneath the window and was cold when running but was a bit noisy at night. There was a tv in the room with a few English language channels which I watched (mainly movies) the rooms were high ceilings and the Windows were massive we were on the third floor so had a view overlooking the town the hotel has free wifi but could be a bit hit and miss owing to the large number of people using it.The hotel is in an area where there are lots more hotels servicing the area it is close to a coach dropping point so coaches were dropping off at all times of the night so it could be noisy at times during the night. The room did not have tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The breakfast was continental style which included ham cheese cereals fruit and marmalade and jams with locally sourced bread and pastries the tea, coffee and fruit juice machines available in the large dining room. Bar prices are average with house wines and spirits prices were on a par with what we pay in England although the spirits were poured in generous quantities 5 Euros for what looked like a treble beer price was 3.5 euros for a bottle.the hotel is 300 yards down a moderate hill into that town centre where there were bars restaurants supermarkets and some high end shops too.up the hill from the hotel a two minute walk is a small market selling trinkets clothing and all manner of stuff across the road were more small restaurants too.there was a children's amusement park at the side of the market but with us not having kids with us I did not know the prices for entry. We did get mosquito bites during our stay so you do need to prepare for this. There isn't a swimming pool in the hotel but there is an outdoor lido pool close by which costs seven euros to go in. Overall I would recommend this hotel as a base for a touring holiday but it is a budget hotel so don't expect miracles I thought it was very nice and had more good points than bad I would go back should I wish to return to this area of Tuscany.
