This hotel is centrally located just near the entrance to the old walled city. The rooms were spacious and a beautiful breakfast was included. They were very helpful with luggage and storage. Also the location is on the main street which runs up to the entrance to the old part of town.

For the money we paid it's great value. Great location just in the old town with parking outside or in the main car park at the bottom of the hill. Breakfast is ok not great but nice scrambled eggs could do with some fresh fruit but seems to be fairly typical of B and Bs in Umbria/ Tuscany. The owners... More

The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was large, clean and quiet with a comfortable bed, modern bathroom and hot shower. There was no AC but the fan was fine and the town seemed to cool down quite a bit in the evening even in early July. Free Wi-Fi in room works very well. We did... More

We found it accidentally and on check in they offerd to park our car in front of hotel. It would not be something special if the hotel is not in the pure center of the city. Stuff is very guest oriented and willing to assist. In all areas of hotel you can see that some time ago this hotel was... More

For our wedding anniversary we found exactly what we enjoy in this hotel straight from another era with its old charms and vintage aura. It’s at the bottom of the Via di Gracciano nel Corso, the walking street up though the town and we had a lovely view over the valley to the Lago Trasimeno.

I booked a room here based on TA reviews, and, in all the years I have been using this site, this is the most disappointed I have ever been with my selection. My experience did not match ANY of the good reviews on here, and - on the contrary - I found the hotel less than satisfactory. I booked directly... More

The pluses. It was clean and well-located. The breakfast was nice and they will make scrambled eggs for you. The wifi works well. The minuses. The rooms are quite small. You have to walk up one floor with your suitcases just to get to the hotel, and then you have to walk up further to get to your room. We... More

We were a family of three traveling in Italy. This hotel was very well situated and equipped. Comfy beds, very clean and friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was fabulous in the dining room. Ask for a room with a view. Parking closeby. Used this as our base for touring the Tuscany area during the day and enjoyed coming home and... More

Good location for the bus station when leaving, no dragging cases over too many cobbles. It was quite cold when we stayed and the heating was on without having to ask. Our room was good, great shower with plenty of hot water and with a large outside terrace, unfortunately had a busy road below. Mostly, it was too cold to... More

Charming room decorations. Room had a very large, private terrace with vines. The view of the countryside was lovely. Formal dining room with an excellent breakfast included. Clean, comfortable bed, linens and chairs. Modern bathroom.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Behind the Medicean column there is the Hotel Il Marzocco, the oldest in town. It was built in 1500 as a farm of the nearby convent. In 1860 it became a hotel and since the early 1900s it has been run by the same family. The hotel looks like a large house where the atmosphere of the old times is still kept. Its bedrooms open on wide lounges that, like the reading room and the sitting room, are furnished with genuine XIX century pieces. Some bedrooms have balconies or terraces with a view on the valleys, other ones have their windows over the Renaissance houses of the old town. The hotel has had important guests like actors, writers, politicians, all of whom are fond of the great view from its terraces. A free parking area is available, as well as comfortable relaxing spaces and a wide dining room where breakfast is served from a rich buffet with home-made bread and cakes, jams and pies. Among the roses of the garden, the Canada creeper climbs until the terraces and creates a pergola up to the roof, at first green in summer, than all red in September and yellow during the autumn. Red geraniums at the windows, together with the old lace curtains, add to the building a perfectly romantic touch. Wi-Fi Connection. We accept pets. Free Indoor garage for motorbikes and bicycles. ... more   less
