The hotel is nicely situated in the center of lovely Norcia, but the rooms are a bit outdated. It is a very old building. ask for a room with a big bathroom. Breakfast is average. The restaurant of the hotel is very, very good!

It was six years since we visited this hotel. It remains basically a restaurant/restaurants with rooms. The owner and the staff can not be more helpful the food is wholesome rather than fine dining. However almost always the soup and the pasta dishes are a joy. It is amazing how they deal with the numbers of people so efficiently. It... More

Stayed here as part of an HF Holidays walking group. We found the hotel clean & comfortable. The staff were very helpful & we would have rated the Grotta Azzura very good but for a couple of points. Although the breakfast buffet was plentiful it was very unimaginative. The same choice for 7 days was not what we expected. The... More

We stayed here for one night on our travels around Italy and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our rooms were on the top floor which had tiny balconies that opened up to the roof line of the building - really cute! The staff are friendly, the rooms adequate and the hotel includes an elevator! We had drinks and olives at the bar,... More

I am confused by the 3, 4 and 5 star reviews of this hotel. We were booked to stay in this hotel for 2 nights as part of a group tour through Umbria and Le Marche. After the first night here, we and another couple in the group paid to move to a different hotel (to the Palazzo Seneca which... More

So glad we booked this particular hotel in Norcia. Everything from the welcome to the location & cleanliness of the hotel made it perfect for our short stay. Breakfast was also excellent & plenty of it too! Will definitely be back & look forward to it :) Keep up the good work!

We were so beautifully treated in this hotel. No request unanswered, with generosity: "do you need this dish without chili? here it is"; "may I show you how to light your hallway?"; "shall I copy this for you?" Over and over and over. The food was generous too, and much of it more than excellent. Our room was gorgeous, spotless... More

Norcia is not very full of hotels, so choice is limited. This particular hotel is fine for a few nights. It is clean, the staff are very good. The hotel does fill up with coach parties, and the breakfast area can get crowded. It is centrally located in the Norcia old town. The decor is a bit old, but the... More

This hotel could not be better situated, right in the heart of the town, only seconds from the main square and the main shopping street. I do not know how old the building was but it had a very old feel to it: barrel vaulting in the restaurant areas, marble floors and with appropriate decor such as tapestries and artifacts... More

We were in the annexe to the Grotto Azzurra - the Palazzo Seneca -apparently Seneca lived here for a time. There are lots of public rooms for comfortable conversation etc and, at the back of the hotel, a small garden and the breakfast room. The breakfasts were magnificent and the best I have had in Italy. The service was friendly... More
