We visited this hotel before Covid-19 and all the lockdown misery. We enjoyed our stay and especially the room, the staff and the food was great. In fact we arranged and booked and payed a deposit to stay another period but because of Covid-19 everything was cancelled. We helped the family by leaving our deposit with them and hoped for the best. After 2 1/2 year we planned our trip BUT this time my husband got rather sick and was not able to travel at all. All my compliments to the family Piccolruaz: they gave us a refund so when my husband is feeling better and able to travel, we still have our voucher. I think this is such a very nice way how to make your customers happy!

We stayed here for the Christmas week, like we also did last year. The location is ideal, in a sunny position above Ortisei. The room and the structure as a whole are really nice. But most important of all is the kind family who run this hotel and also the other employees. We will be back.

This year we spent the Christmas Week in this hotel. And we were very satisfied! The location is beautiful. While the centre of Ortisei was in the shadow, we had sun most of the day at this lovely spot. The family was so kind and professional. The hotel is small enough to be familiar and cosy, but big enough to provide delicious food, a pool and other amenities. Their dinners were of a high level and the waitress serving breakfast and dinner added atmosphere to the hotel.

My first visit to Val Gardena, with excellent skiing experience, which probably influences and improve my review about hotel. Small hotel a bit away from center of Ortisei, up in the mountain, around 2 kilometars from the center with steep road. However, we were in coldest period with a lot of snow and road was clean, plus there is a ski bus with bus stop right in front of the hotel. Check carefully the schedule. Hotel has its own covered garage which is excellent in winter conditions. Room clean, big enough more than average, decent bathroom , clean, change towels every day. Best impression about hotel is kitchen, Hotel offer HB option for 10 e plus, take it no doubts. Breakfast and especially dinner is awesome. This option will limited your visit to Ortisei, which is nice but for one night is enough to visit. Be aware the drinks during dinner are more expensive then average so check the price. Sauna and turkish bath are clean and in good condition. Now what could be better. Pool is small and full with small kids screaming and jumping in, without surveillance from hotel staff who should make an order in the pool and sauna area. Kids are entering in the sauna area dressed with pants as well as their parents staring the people using sauna making very uncomfortable feeling for real sauna users.. Our complaints to owner was inefficient and useless, he did not make any effort regulate the pool and sauna rules. Wi fi is with very weak signal, and more you have to pay 5 e for 7 days. There was no hot water in rooms after skiing, due to some defect.

We loved this hotel so much the last time we visited. Usually, we try to visit new places where we haven't been before, but our experience was so wonderful that we came back and stayed even longer! The setting is so spectacular that you feel renewed. But the genuine warmth and gracious hospitality of Markus and his sister Andrea are what make this such a special place. The breakfasts and dinners are fantastic, and all of the staff are so kind and accommodating. Our room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, with a view to make your heart skip a beat. Beautiful trails begin outside the door, or you can find endless options very close by. I did a lot of research on the best hikes in the Dolomites, but I've decided that the best hike is the one you are on at the moment! I don't think there is a hike that isn't spectacular. The Dolomites are so stunningly beautiful. My husband loved the experience of going with Markus as he guided the group on a beautiful hike in the Alpe di Siusi. We loved the beautiful pool and the sauna/relaxing area after a big day of hiking. It is a gift to discover the Val Gardena, and an even better one to discover a truly special, charming hotel like the Jacoberhof!

I love hotels. I love to find unique and wonderful hotels in spectacular places. Our experience at the Jakoberhof will be hard to top! It is located on the outskirts of Ortisei, up the mountain just a few minutes. I'll never forget the moment we drove up to the hotel. As we came around the last bend, we were stunned to see a majestic view of the Dolomites unfold before our eyes. Our jaws dropped, and both my husband and I gasped. My husband asked, "How did you ever find this place?" But things only got better from there. We were warmly greeted by Markus, the owner (and heart and soul) of the hotel. Although it was past the lunch hour, he kindly offered to have the restaurant make us some lunch. Olga, one of the staff members, and a total sweetheart, took our order. She speaks English, German, Russian, Italian, and probably other languages as well. We had a delicious lunch on the terrace, marvelling at the incredible view. Our room was large and comfortable, decorated with Tyrollean flair. The view from our balcony was spectacular! Amazing hiking trails begin outside the door. Half board is included in the cost of the room. Dining in the beautiful dining room was a special treat. The dinners were five courses-- each one delicious!! Breakfasts were also absolutely wonderful. All of the staff members were kind, sweet, friendly, and accommodating. The warmth of Markus and his wife spills over to all of the staff. Beautiful wood carvings created by Markus' father decorate the hotel, including the beautiful pool area. Several times a week, Markus leads guests on hikes through the incomparable Dolomites. He even lent me his walking sticks when I mentioned that my knees are not the best. The only problem? We hadn't booked enough nights at this very special place! One note of warning: don't go to the Jakoberhof if you're not a nice person! If you are a demanding or entitled customer, it would break the spell, the aura that rests over this place. We noticed that all of the guests seemed to be kind and lovely people. We really enjoyed meeting and talking with some of the other guests. We hope to have the opportunity to return again. It was a memorable, magical time for us.

Nice and comfortable hotel with a great service assured from a young couple. Top cuisine with lot of choices every day. Nice rooms and very quiet as well. Perfectly furnished. Only two little remarks: • The temperature of the swimming pool water could be 2 or 3 degrees higher. • WIFI should be free. 7 euros for a week is ridiculous. The hotel would afford it.•

Dear Goldblanchen, thank you very much for your stay at our hotel and for the positive review. We'll think about your remarks. One thing though: We charge 5€ for 1 week internet and it's for 2 devices. So you really pay 2,50€ for 1 week internet per device.... we don't think it's too much. But as said, we'll think about it. kind regards, Family Piccolruaz

This hotel is wonderful! We cannot recommend it enough! This mountainous area is for tourists- skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer, yet the Ansitz Jacoberhof, second to none in amenities, is family run and very warm and welcoming. We stayed for three nights and would have liked to stay longer. Our spacious room was very comfortable and exceptionally clean. We had a room with a balcony that had a table and two chairs which was a pleasant way to enjoy the dramatic Dolomite Mountain scenery. The Piccolruaz Family speaks English very well which was of great help. We arrived mid afternoon after driving all day and even though the kitchen was closed, Andrea prepared a tasty ham and cheese sandwich for us. We ate outside on the patio overlooking the Dolomites. From the cornfields of the midwest this was quite an impression! Andrea and her brother (whose family owns the hotel) were amazing and very willing to answer questions, explain customs and did whatever they could to ensure our comfort and make us feel welcome. We enjoyed an extensive breakfast buffet each morning but on request the chef would prepare hot foods (bacon and eggs for example). We were able to make our own selections for our 5 course meal each evening which was prepared by a master chef. The food was just spectacular!. Our waitress spoke English and was so friendly and accommodating! We enjoyed visiting with her each day. There is also a full bar area with comfortable booths for relaxing. The lower level of the hotel has a rec room that has a pool table, ping pong table, selection of books (not many in English though so I left mine there instead of bringing it home) and a great play area for children. The pool/sauna area looked inviting- immaculately clean. There is an underground parking area for hotel guests. Be sure you pack your walking sticks! They will come in handy as you trek around the alpine meadows. And be sure you take the path behind the hotel up to the little church. I won't spoil the surprise of what you will find up there! This hotel was a great find and we hope to return! Thank you Family Piccolruaz!
