I really enjoyed this holiday. A beautiful place set in acres of vineyards and olive grows with a lovely pool and quaint old stone house. The fam is located fifteen minutes drive from the beautiful town of Orvieto and is well placed for trips outwards. We visited both Rome (1.25 hours train) and Florence (1 hour drive) during our visit. Assisi was also nice. Hosts were very good. It is a little, but this was an attraction for us.

Arriving to this agritourism was like coming to paradise. At the end of a small road, La Chiusetta opens up with its meadows, old houses, olive groves and vineyards. It is a true haven for someone looking for peace and beauty. The owner, Signor Paolo, was very kind and offered us to taste his own wine. Unfortunately we did not have the possibility to dine in the agritourism, but Sig. Paolo recommended us a very nice trattoria in Orvieto. Our room was clean and well equipped. This is truly a place to return to, and to recommend to all friends and family! Next time, we will make sure that we stay for dinner made by Paolo!

Towards the end of 3 weeks of touring northern Italy, we returned to the Orvieto area without reservations and chanced upon the traditional sign for an "agritourismo". Trusting our luck, we followed the signs for La Chiusetta, down a twisting one track lane that made us wonder if we'd made a mistake. What a wonderful surprise when it came into view. This organic farm and its proprietor, Paolo, will make you feel immediately at home and wanting to stay even longer than you intended. Set on 13 hectares or about 35 acres, it offers the perfect respite in an idyllic, pastoral setting. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well appointed. Breakfast is about as good as Italian breakfasts can be and the coffee is deliciously strong. Paolo will take the time to introduce you to the area and offer recommendations for walks and and local restaurants. He will also invite you to make yourself at home and to ramble about the property. Row upon row of olives, and grapevines await as do the chickens and ducks. There is a boccie court, children's play area and a sparkling pool but the best part are the many lovely sitting areas with fabulous vistas of Orvieto, distant and dramatic rock formations or the private castle on a nearby hillside. Only ten minutes removed from the tourist bustle, you will feel like it's all a million miles away. Arrange for Paolo to cook one of his traditional, dare I say, gourmet dinners. It will be perfect down to the after-dinner grappa. La Chiusetta offers all of this and more for a remarkable bargain. Bring friends or children or just come alone for a romantic getaway. I promise you won't regret it!!

This place should be avoided if you are traveling with kids. The owner watches children like a hawk. My 8 year old was playing on a dilapidated soccer table with the grand daughter of the owner. When he tried to retrieve the ball per the little girls instructions. it fell over and fell apart. When we left he ranted that my son was ill mannered and wanted me to pay $100 for the dsmage. When I told him that the machine should be thrown away, he went off on a threatening tirade. I ultimately gave him what he wanted to keep it from escalating. Avoid this place if you have active kids. Furthermore, the breakfasts are meager and they serve the same stale cakes each day. The room was tiny and could barely fit the three of us stacking our luggage. It is a nice location if only adults are reserving. but given the cheap breakfast and rude unappreciative behavior, there are many better options.

The hosted ( Paulo) is not welcomed at all ! It seems that he don't want to run this house any more. Every thing we asked ( heater which didn't work) his reactions was uncomfortable to us.
The house located far away from the city and nothing to do around the house , not even a closed restaurants.
When they cleaned the room , we left some charger inside the electric power, the lady that was cleaning the room decided to brake the charger and leave it on the floor !!

We were very disappointed and also the price is not worth it ! You can find better placed for less .

Beautiful location. Quiet, with good pool and excellent access to Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio. Good breakfast. They Make dinner ocassionally - good quality. We had very tasty mixed starter, excellent veal roullade, chewy chicken and good but slightøy sweet tiramisu. Nice house wine. Bedrooms are traditional.

We visited Orvieto and La Chiusetta for 2 nights in mid November 2015.
When we arrived we were delighted with such a beautiful setting with medieval farmhouses.
We had a lovely home cooked dinner here with local wines and were the only guests eating here that night.
It is quite close to Orvieta and Civita both equally beautiful towns in very different ways. The Duomo in Orvieto is splendid and is a must!!
During our stay here we became quite disappointed.
The beds and pillows were so uncomfortable that we had 2 very bad nights sleep whilst here. The second night the heating did not work properly and the room was cold.
We would suggest looking at alternative Agriturismos in the area if at all possible.

We loved everything but we do recommend checking with the host for very precise directions as this property is extremely challenging to find. Please don't let that dissuade you as it's WELL worth the effort ! We hope to return again within a year. The rural charm, the enchanting countryside, the very warm welcome by a charming & well-traveled host, the proximity to Orvieto struck us immediately. In addition, the rustic nature of this property is balanced by the taste of the hosts. The decor is simple yet refined. The beds are comfortable and the apartment is furnished with everything we needed, including wifi and a fireplace with a roaring fire! (We were here in early spring). We had a delicious, home-cooked dinner and a plentiful breakfast. The location of the property near lovely little Orvieto (and other sites worth a visit) is simply perfection.

Wonderful agriturismo with beatiful landscape, nice and quiet rooms and great prices. The owner Paolo is very friendly and is a great cooker. We had one of the best meals of our trip there, for about $20,00 per person , including wine, first and second courses and dessert (for dinner, need to book first)
The acess to the agriturismo is not so easy, through a really narrow unpaved road (about 2 km) , from the SS71, distant about 10km from Orvieto.
Internet acess is not good and only works at the main house.
These are the only problems but we strongly recommend it.

Had a peaceful, authentic stay at this Agriturismo; location is 10-15 mins outside of Orvieto up a hill and in quiet rural area; beautiful grounds and views of Orvieto including vineyards and olive trees; walking trails from the property; nice breakfast and also had one of our best dinners at the hotel restaurant; nice pool area for relaxing; this agriturismo had a laid-back and peaceful vibe. Thank you to Sara and team!

Cordiali saluti
