This wonderful hotel is on one of the most beautiful (and secret) islands we have ever visited - Ponza. The hotel was a bit dated while remaining beautiful and warm. The staff was so genuine and lovely and the morning breakfast was a perfect start to the day. Our room had a shared terrace that had unbelievable views of the... More

If you visit Ponza - which is a beautiful Island - then you must stay here. The hotel is lovely and the staff so friendly and helpful. We have just recently returned from our 2nd stay and cannot wait to go again - Mario Junior made me some lovely cocktails - just fruit and the odd boozey one too -... More

If you live in Rome and would like a weekend getaway adventure, take the train to Anzio, taxi to aliscafi, and you are in Ponza, nice hotel near the port, nice restaurant but no view or gym. and your Italian must be good, as not much English spoken or understood. To get to a beach there is a boat from... More

I had a lovely stay. The staff was not rude, as warned by some previous foreign guests. This is a small island left back in time and not internationally sophisticated. The apparent carelessness and rudeness is more a reflection of shyness. Speaking in Italian I always had great responses. The location is easy (although without views), right in town but... More

Ponza is a lovely but simple island. No luxury hotels, restaurants or boutiques which is actually quite charming. The "Gran Hotel Santa Domitilla" is one of the two "upscale" hotels on the island.  Its decor and charm are very 80s.  Rooms are tiny; our room was approx 10 sqm which is completely ridiculous - we could hardly walk around the bed.... It is the best place in Ponza. The design, decor is siimple, authentic, Italian, with small and unique details. The rooms are comfortable and offer all the amenities that one might need on holidays. The restaurant is beyond what you would expect. The menu is traditional but with a special twist to every single dish. The food served is incredibly... More

I use to spend 100 nights or so in 5* hotels and I have to say that I was positively impressed by this hotel. The location is superb as it's 5 mins walk from the centre but not so central to be crowded and noisy. The hotel is very close to small shops where you can get water and some... More

I'm writing this review in a global point of view so maybe it's skewed, but I paid more than 1100 dollars for three nights only for the room, and it was only to the standard of an hotel room which should cost only 100 dollars a night. It was probably very expensive due to the high season and exchange rate,... More

The food at this hotel was amazing, but the room was a bit small for my taste. The pool area was nice and quiet. Overall a good experience. It was a relaxing and quiet accomodation, just the room was a bit small.
