Just come back from a week at the Hotel Conca d’Oro & what a great hotel it is. Firstly the view from the rooms and the terrace I doubt can be rivalled. You wake up in the morning to the most spectacular view across the bay. Secondly the staff were super helpful and super friendly. Special praise goes to Genaro, Giuseppe and Luciano as well as the reception staff and the porters. Thirdly there’s a lovely little sun terrace which although only has 10 sunbeds, it was never busy. There is also a little jacuzzi tub and a great snack menu for lunch and drinks. Fourthly the rooms are clean, super comfy beds and lovely floor tiles. You do need to some fitness to you as it’s 100 steps up to the hotel from the main road. The walk however down from the hotel to the beach is really lovely. You follow the narrow, winding road all the way down and was just a lovely walk each day, especially with the views. If we come back to Positano which I’m sure we will, we will definitely be booking another stay at Hotel Conca d’Oro.…
We have just got back for the most amazing 6 days in Italy. Amazing hotel, the staff go above and beyond, perfect food and the location is really nice and quiet. The rooms were very clean and tidy and we got lots of recommendations about places to visits and the ferry time. I can not fault the hotel in anyway as myself and my children had an amazing time and got in some free gym time with the steps. I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely go back.
I’m a frequent traveller and very tolerant of most things, however I draw the line at dishonesty and deceit. They advertise the hotel as “free self parking on site” and lead us to believe any price of parking was included in the stay. We also asked to extend the parking for a few hours after checkout so we could enjoy the beach. They happily obliged saying it would cost in the region of “16 euro”. We were dismayed when we returned after a day at the beach and were presented with a bill for 150 euro - 50 euro a day. We called the hotel expecting them to be apologetic and explain the error - however their tone completely changed saying we should “read the small print” and also claimed they had stated the price on arrival - simply not true! They speak English very well and it was clear to us this was a scam between the car park and the hotel, and not a case of something being ‘lost in translation‘. The waiters and bar staff are attentive and very friendly, and you couldn’t criticise them in anyway. The accommodation was also clean and tidy. However, the staff on the front desk, while charming, were happy for the above to take place and complicit in the deceit. My partner speaks Italian and heard the car park attendants say “now let’s hit them with the surprise” - clearly a common occurrence for them. For this reason I advise not frequenting this hotel. Most things I can tolerate, outright dishonesty is not one of them. A disappointing end to our stay in Positano.…
We were scheduled to stay at the hotel the end of this month, they refused to give us any type of refund despite the fact that our country is not allowed to travel to Italy at this time, that is poor customer service.
This hotel is all about the view so you don’t need to spend any additional energy to get your holiday’s pictures. You will need it to walk the stairs down and up to the beach and city and enjoy all the water and trecking attractions.
