We stayed at this lovely hotel for 3 nights in a standard room unfortunately we booked late and all other rooms were unavailable. It was a little noisy as it fronts the street and people are always walking by. That said we were exhausted by...More
Room was magnificent: large room with a balcony overlooking the sea. The view was stunning. Staff extremely helpful, especially Francesca. Breakfast buffet had everything you could want. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Great place to stay.

I am waffling between a 3 & 4 on this hotel. The staff is great and did all they could to resolve my disappointment when we checked in. Initially I booked the suite ( of which they have 2) for 650 euros per night ....More
This is a decent hotel that is made exponentially better by Francesca at the front desk.
We stayed in one of the rooms with the jacuzzi on the balcony, which is on the second floor. The room itself wasn't bad, but it was definitely dated,...More
I can't recommend the Punta Regina any higher. The hotel is outstanding from top to bottom.
The staff is exceptionally outgoing, warm and friendly. They clearly take notes, as each staff member seemed to know about things we had inquired about with other employees. For...More
The Punta Regina is a charming and romantic hotel with 18 rooms in the heart of Positano.Originally a private villa it has been carefully restored, combining original characteristic charm with the best of …Morecontemporary features. The building lies on Via Pasitea, the main street in town, and is easily accessible.Built on four levels, the Hotel has a breath-taking view of the Mediterranean waters, that has made Positano famous. While relaxing from your terrace, not only will you enjoy the sight of "Li Galli" island and the tower "Clavel", but also the many boats sailing in the blue colored waters. We did a similar trip, Rome to Naples on the frecciarossa(fast train) then got on the circumvesuviana to Pompeii. Left our luggage in a secure storage while we were exploring and then got a private driver to the hotel. The first train was great, the second was probably one of the worst experiences we have had. There was standing room only and very packed, and very hot. The driver to Punta Regina was booked by Francesca at the hotel, and they were very professional and friendly. The drive was amazing and definitely worth it - convenience and view! For reference it was €110. Frecciarossa from Rome to Naples was €22.5 each and the train to Pompeii cost €2.8 each.

Yes, you will be able to walk to the hotel. The hotel is way up on the hill--you can walk the windy streets or find the steps that wind their way up. An option is to have the hotel send down people (they are not associated with hotel) to bring your suitcases bags up to the hotel so that you can walk more easily (steps not great for rolling suitcases!), pay for that, have your suitcases meet you there. I have to say I was a bit nervous until we actually got the bags, some time after we were checked in. But all was well and very typically what folks do when they are checking in and out. It's not a quick walk, but a cool one and not a problem if you like to walk in general. I'm so jealous that you're going! I would go back in a minute!!
