Take the train to Naples and I suggest having a driver take you to Positano. I rented a car only because I wanted to drive the Amalfi Coast, but once we arrived, I had to pay to park it in a garage 1 mile away, where it Sat for 2 weeks. You can take a bus, but you'll likely get car sick because they drive those tour buses like fiats. A driver might cost you 75 Euro but will save you money and can take you to the entrance to the villas. Get dropped off in front of Cafe Positano and you literally walk down 325 steps into paradise along the cliffs. the driver will carry your bags for 10 Euro per bag. The ferry to Capri is directly down 200 more steps to the marina.

"This was a private apartment rental not a hotel. There are beautiful views from the balcony."
