As others have mentioned in the reviews, the hotel is a bit expensive for what they offer. Note that the spa and indoor pool is closed from early October. The shuttle to the private beach is also not working. As such, I felt I wasn't able to fully experience the hotel. The room was very nice and I didn't have any issues with the shower, but another group I came with did have problems with their shower. The pool was nice, but pretty cold. It's also a bit of a walk to the beach (approx. 20 minutes). The stores nearby were all closed too so so if you need immediate things like bottled water or sunscreen, you'll have to drive a ways out if you come during off season. The weather was very nice, so I couldn't understand why almost 75% of the city shuts down.

Staff delightful at this well organised hotel. The Golf Course was stunning and a challenge. The Beach Club was fun and the Spa treatments good. Punta Ala is delightful- we ate at the Marina, a few other Beach Clubs and enjoyed an evening at the Polo Club.

A wonderful time with a hotel full of great staff and in an amazing place . We booked because we wanted to play golf in Punta ala golf club ( breathtaking) and be near the beach ! They have a continuous minivan taking people up and down from 8,30 until 19 ! The beach was amazing with all sports ( at a small cost) ! A mini club for kids and quizzes etc after dinner ! The restaurant was having one or two problems so we only tried once but there was an amazing restaurant/pizzeria with a stunning view of the setting sun at 19,45 every evening and also great food at great prices ! We will come and visit both hotel, golf and local restaurant ! Rooms are modern, clean and lots of space ! Chiara as a part of the mini club was amazing with everyone and will have a Stella career with whatever she tries ! Thanks to all !

The Hotel Suite was very specious but unfortunately offered no privacy despite having a patio at the back. Mold smell is the first and last thing that you will brief once you step in or out of the suite, the last day improved, not sure if it got better or I got use to it. Housekeeping offers room for improvement, and we had spiders nets with spiders included next to the TV cabinet for the entire duration of the vacation, plus the patio is not well maintained. Those tiles floors in the suite give you a feeling of freshness, however they must be kept clean at all times. The bathroom linen were new and felted great, however there is no hook in the bathrooms to hang your bathrobes. Limited internet coverage, every time we asked, we were told that is due to the location, but Beach offered great coverage. Breakfast offers a large variety of sweets but to order an egg benedict, you have to order from the a la carte menu and pay extra?! Lots of trainees in the service and not really guided by the senior personal which results and shows in confusion. Lunch offered around the pool give you a healthy and fresh selection. However, dinner is not allowed and you must eat in the restaurant indoor. At the same time if you are not HB (half-board) there is no a la carte menu and you are offered with a selection which is a mix of dishes from the buffet or cooked a la minute, however prices are out of the ordinary for the offer. Be aware that there is no service around the pool which is a shame considering the heavy usage on in-house guests/families. The team dedicated to the kids activities goes out of their way to ensure the kids/children’s have a good time and consequentially the parents. The Beach is nice, very nice but those umbrellas are positioned way to close to each other considering the current situation. Plus, when you are assigned with an umbrella, it may lead in disappointment. On the first day and for the rest of the stay, they give us an umbrella near a large group from “abroad” and it didn’t start the vacation well. Overall the staff is courteous, genuine and friendly which helps with the journey. However, the property requires an upgrade and attention to opportunities and details.

A few days ago we left Golf Hotel Punta Ala with a bit of sadness in our Hearts after having spent 3 weeks there. My 9 and 11yrs old children and I went without my husband who stayed behind for work and at first I wondered how the kids would enjoy themselves whilst I would carve some time off for myself to read and relax. Well, no need to worry there! Golf Hotel staff were the most attentive and welcoming from the moment we set foot in the reception. In fact, the amazing Bianca in the reservation team set the tone so professionally and helpfully way before we arrived. There would be too many people to mention who stood out for professionalism, competence, kindness and for going beyond the duty of their role. I shall highlight some: The Kids club team led by “Paolone” (big Paolo - as self appointed) was beyond outstanding. So much so that both my children decided to join in either daily or on and off. And that was in itself quite a new thing for them. All of them deserve a special mention. Roberto: pool life guard maestro! Always ready to help, to keep the pool area spotless and also a great swimming teacher. He gave my kids lessons and considering they are both in swimming clubs in London we have seen our fair share of teaching methods! He had them work super hard but yet kept it fun. He’s a water polo instructor during winter and so mature for his age! Also, able to tackle promptly small emergencies with care and professionalism. Arianna, Chiara and Cecilia kept the younger children and also adults entertained and in check with stretching/fitness (Arianna) twice a day. Arts and crafts, dance, fun in the pool, fun at the beach daily.....endless amounts of fun and care!! Paolo and the rest would take over the kids evening with an unmissable (for my daughter especially!!) dance session. Energy, fun and care in abundance!! Thank you so much!! Reception and waiters were the most professional and helpful at ALL times. With a few of them standing out. Tennis lessons are held on the beautiful on site tennis courts led by the incredibly professional and amazing teacher Eurialo. A little pricey even for London standards but very deserving. Driving us back and forth with the navetta service was Raffaele - discreet, friendly and again, so professional! Our rooms (219) were 2 interconnected very large doubles with 2 separate bathrooms with large and powerful showers, massive amount of storage and balconies overlooking the pool. Perfect for a family of 4! The barman at the hotel created some amazing non alcoholic drinks for the kids and myself! The beach staff and management under Elena kept the beach and its toilets and restaurants super clean (!!) and working well for all. We have been around the world and Italy extensively and would normally visit a 5* hotel which is where we are now and to us Golf Hotel Punta Ala deservedly matches a 5* standard. We very highly recommend a visit at Golf Hotel Punta Ala. We are definitely going to go back in 2021!!

Spacious family suite with two large attached rooms and two bathrooms and two balconies. Most closet space I’ve ever seen in Italy. Nice pool and van service takes you to and from the beach with never more than a five minute wait. Hotel has a functional gym and well-priced spa services. The restaurant buffet was good and always had adequate choices to satisfy everyone’s needs. What makes this hotel excellent was the service. The staff were all exceptional with special mention to Alessandro, the maitre d’. He went out of his way to be accommodating, personable, and welcoming. Grazie per tutto Alessandro!

The rooms were comfortable, we enjoyed a nice evening in the bar and restaurant and lovely sunset from the beach. In the morning we woke to no water in the room or anywhere in the hotel. These things happen and not necessarily the hotels fault. However, the way they dealt with the situation was appalling. No apology, no offer of bottled water or suggestions as to where to shower. And no sign of the manager. Consequently we were unable to use any of the Hotel facilities which we had looked forward to. To add insult to injury on check out I was asked to pay for the small bottles of water we used from the mini bar. This was begrudgingly waivered at my request but no other compensation offered. Disappointing to say the least. Will be interested in the managers response?

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay at Golf Hotel Punta Ala. I am sorry if your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest regret. At Golf Hotel Punta Ala, we continuously strive to meet your needs and expectations; therefore your feedback is crucial to us. We are glad to know you enjoyed our wonderful location and the beauty of sunset that our exclusive Beach Club is able to give away. Unfortunately last Wednesday there was a technical failure with the water, which was solved in about 3 hours. We apologized several times for this inconvenience at check-out time, not requiring the payment of bottles of water from the minibar and offering drinks ordered at the Bar. We truly hope that you will re-consider the chance to visit us once again as our honored guest regaining your trust in our service. Best Regards

We stayed for four nights as part of a 12 day trip to northern Italy. We had read mixed reviews so we booked directly with the hotel by telephone. My girlfriend explained that she was anxious about the cleanliness of the room. We spoke to an incredibly helpful person in the sales department who gave us a room upgrade and daily sunlounger/beach chairs at the private beach (5mins away by regular shuttle bus - we never waited more than 5 minutes) included in the half board price. Our initial impression as we first drove up was that the hotel was in need of renovation. However from within all of the areas which we experienced have been recently renovated to a very high standard. Our room was on the first floor (at the back of the building), which is the main entrance/reception level as you enter the hotel. The bar, spa and pool area are all one floor down from the reception and look out towards the rear of the hotel. Our room was very newly renovated, spotlessly clean and decorated simply in a modern style (white and grey). There was a large "wet-room" style bathroom with walk in shower, toilet and a separate intermediate room containing his and hers washbasins and mirror. We had a shaded balcony with table and chairs overlooking the pool area so that we could hear the relaxing live music from the bar in the evening. We also had air con. Overall we couldn't have been more pleased with the room. Food: We had half board, which at €12.50 per person per night (€100 for 4 nights) was a bargain. Breakfast was buffet style with pretty much everything you could wish for (coffee, fruit, continental options, scrambled, egg, bacon, sausage, tomato etc.). Poached eggs, smoked salmon and various other options available as paid upgrades. Dinner was a mixture of buffet antipasta (phenomenally good) and dessert with waiter served first and second courses. The food was excellent. Water and wine were extra. Lunch was available from the beach bar and/or restaurant. Ca. €14 for a salad (very good and generous portions), €10-12 for a pizza + various snack/ice cream options. The beach area is a beautiful long white sandy beach with clear calm blue water which remains shallow enough to stand for at least 30-40m. Deep enough to swim from about 15-20m out. The beach is divided into various sections belonging to different hotels. There was an extremely helpful "Local Coach" who was present in the mornings and afternoon/evenings in the hotel reception area to give advice about the area and help arrange excursions and activities. We followed her advice to visit Cala Violina, voted one of Italy's most beautiful beaches and to arrange tennis. Several other options were available, including sailing and motor boat trips, horse riding, bike hire, wine tour etc. Cala Violina is about 45 minutes away (15minute drive + 30minute walk from the car park to the beach). The beach is located in a protected area of natural beauty, so it is not possible to park closer. The walk is about 2km and is a bit hilly. If you plan to visit this beach we recommend you take water and a maybe parasol to give you some sun protection on the beach when you get there. The beach was fairly busy when we arrived, but we still found enough space to relax and it was an enjoyable trip. There were two tennis courts within the hotel grounds. One hard court and one artificial grass court. Court hire was €20 per hour and was booked via the Tennis Coach. The spa facilities and gym were free to use for hotel guests. The spa was excellent with steam rooms, sauna, jacuzzi pool. Various beauty treatments, massages and yoga classes were available, but we didn't take advantage of any of these options. Initially we were slightly put off by the outward appearance of the hotel. However, once we were inside were very impressed with the overall facilities and the room was superb. We were most impressed by the incredibly helpful staff. Very relaxing enjoyable holiday.

Positive aspects: very good food, especially the Tuscan Buffet, excellent. The Spa is beautiful but the girls are too insistent, they dismiss the customers rather than attract them. The location is quiet, even too much, them around there is nothing, without a car you are lost. The garden and the outdoor pool are beautiful and not overcrowded, the cleanliness of the rooms and the facility are great. Less positive aspects: the rooms are spacious but really outdated, the bathrooms need a few more hooks, some areas of the Hotel need renovation. The worst thing is without any doubt the beach, the sun loungers and the umbrellas are so sticky that it seems to sit at the cinema, elbow to elbow. Crazy, I've never seen a thing like this before. From the third row, you can't even see the sea....

Stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding. The place claims to be a 4 star hotel, and prices match - we paid 465 Euro per night for a Deluxe Suite. In reality, the place is rather run down and tired looking - the driveway to the reception is rutted and poor - do not take a sports car there ! We arrived at 3:00 pm but there were no rooms ready. The lady at the reception was kind enough to offer us lunch at the restaurant, which unfortunately was closed ! They did rush getting the room ready, but when we entered, it was clearly not the deluxe suite I had booked and was shown on the their web site. Upon returning to the reception, I was informed that their web site was "old". It took some pushing, but finally the suite I had booked magically materialized - however be warned - it was nowhere near as nice looking as the hotel web site shows. It was basically a bedroom, with a small, windowless anteroom between the bedroom and bathroom. The hotel is clearly very popular with families - in early July, the place was crowded, and noisy. The breakfast area was like sitting in Grand Central Station On the positive side, the staff are rather nice - but don't expect them to all speak English Overall - avoid if you are looking for a modern, efficient, well run, 4 star hotel

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking your time to share with us your feedback on your stay at the Golf Hotel Punta Ala. We are pleased for your positive note underlining the passion and dedication of our staff committed every day to make the stay of our guest a pleasant and relaxing experience. However, we can’t confirm that the assigned room was in conflict with your reservation. At your arrival we thought we had done something pleasant with a free upgrade in a Prestige room, recently renovated and equipped with valuable contemporary furnishings. We have promptly accepted your request to change room according to your necessity to get a larger space to work; our Receptionist immediately had showed a Deluxe Suite, where you have choosen to spend your stay. We hope that these impressions do not preclude the possibility to choose again the Golf Hotel Punta Ala!
