A nice stylish hotel near the train station with very comfortable beds for two. The superior rooms are gorgeous and have a nice balcony where one can do yoga and a dog can accompany you. The breakfast spread is delicious and rich. If you wish the staff will pop open a bubbly. You are set for the day

Take your ear plugs as the railway line is less than 200 metres from the front of the hotel! This is a town located hotel not somewhere you would choose to chill but very good for a base if you are out seeing the sights. However, it is a perfect location for town - just pop down the path leading through the garden and you open the gate into the pedestrian area of the town. Rooms were average, staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a buffet with the usual selection of breads, meats and juices and fresh coffees and tea available on request. On our last morning breakfast was still being set up at 0730 when service starts so we did not get a full selection or our daily cappucinnos! Overall, it served a purpose for our type of holiday but would not go back there because of the noise from the railway line - the first night I thought the 0138 to Ancona was coming in through our window! Air conditioning not working the first night as Reception have to switch it on.

Recently used this hotel as part of a Pole Position Travel hotel/ticket package for recent Moto GP event. Great location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, hearty breakfasts and on a couple of days opened the breakfast room up early so we could all get up to the track nice and early. The train station did not bother us, could hardly hear it during the night. Just a little bit noisy if you were sat outside on an evening enjoying a drink with new found friends . On the last day of our stay the airport was on strike till 6.00pm and our flight was not till 10pm but the staff were happy to check out if our flight was still on time and allowed us to keep our room all day free of charge. Would definitely use this hotel again when go back to Riccione.

We found this hotel disappointing for a four star. While we had no complaints about the staff, the room did not match up to expectations.
When booking, we had requested a king sized bed and were notifed that the room type we had booked had garden views and a balcony. Upon arrival in the room it transpired that the bed was in fact two singles pushed together, there was no balcony, and although the view was of a garden, this was a neighbour's!
The bathroom was also below our expectations, consisting of an old shower unit with dirty doors and a sink and bidet from which the plugs had been removed. While perhaps not dirty, the worn nature of the bathroom in general didn't make it feel clean.
On the plus side, the breakfast provided a nice variety, and the staff were helpful when asked for information.

Do not let the proximity of the railway line put you off this great hotel. Beautifully renovated in 2011, we found the hotel beautifully located for the main pedestrian precinct and shopping areas with associated bars and restaurants. It's only a few meters from eth Congresss center and a short stroll to the beach. The rooms were well equipped (although the air con had a few teething troubles that were quickly overcome). the staff were super pleasant and super helpful. Hotel procing, food and drinks were also good and well priced.

Dirty, stained carpets in public areas and room, torn, dirty curtains. Entire hotel looks tired and in need of cleaning, non existent wifi in room and weak in public areas. Trains noisy, so are nearby nigh clubs. Charged 7 Euro a day for parking that was never overfull. Nothing good to say...

We stayed at Hotel de la Ville, Riccione with a group of people taking in the Moto GP in San Marino Sept. 1 - 6. The hotel is nicely appointed with very capable and friendly staff. We had breakfast everyday in the downstairs dining area and some lovely dinners with our group. Riccione itself has lots to offer - beaches and restaurants galore, shopping and lots to see. The best part of my review is that I left some jewellery in the safe in our room when we left and did not miss it till our return to Canada. E-mails exchanged and the hotel sent it Fed-ex to us, and I now have recovered my pearls. That says a lot about the integrity and management of the hotel. I would recommend it highly.

First, I am a tour operator and we use this hotel professionally. We have been doing so for five years without complaint; and this speaks volumes especially in light of our VIP clientele.

This review however reflects the stay of my family - myself, wife and 3yr old son.

One of the things you notice right away in all the Riviera de Rimini resort towns is how all the hotels are quite 'samey'. Hundreds of 3* and 4* hotels all packed together, modern architecture, and while they may be quite good, they lack a certain charm.

One look at the Hotel de la Ville and you can't help see how different it is. This is a proper 'villa' style hotel set in its own leafy surround yet only metres from the town, and an easy stroll to the beach. Yes, the train station is just behind it; but with the double glazed window closed and the blissful air con running, you barely notice.

Service is what really sets a hotel apart from others in its class; and this is where the hotel shines. Great recommendations for local food/drink. No matter what mad hour we came in at night, they were happy to open the bar. Any problems with transport (and there was a general strike in Italy the day we were supposed to fly out) and they will work to help you out. They even organised babysitting!

Yes, a more modern 4* might have slightly better rooms; a bigger pool (not that this one is bad!) or more amenities; but nothing will replace the instant sensation of tranquility you get when you return from the hot, bustling beach and open their gate stepping into this oasis in a sea of hotel conformity.

This appeared to be a lovely, plush and quiet boutique hotel and we never expected the horrendous experience that awaited us..
After a few tiring days in San Marino we drove to Riccione hoping to enjoy the remainder of our stay.
The residents’ parking area was very limited and had to be booked in advance. Since we had not been aware of this inconvenience we had to pay and park in a public parking area a small distance away. So if you do not have reserved parking, remember to unload your luggage before you go to park your car!
The hotel lobby, stairways and pool area are lovely but the rooms and toilet are very small and cramped. We did not like the location, ambience and food of the breakfast room.
On our third and final night we had an awful experience... right from midnight when we went to bed until 9 a.m. next morning there were terrible loud noises from the room exactly above us. Furniture being moved, things being dragged across and dropped on the floor, loud voices, loud footsteps...! We called reception several times to complain but nothing was done at all! Around 6 a.m. my husband finally went downstairs and complained to the member of staff at the reception but his reply was incredible and shocking! He informed my husband that there was a German crew doing a photo shoot in that particular room... and since they were Germans there was nothing he could do to interfere! The noise continued even after this and around 8 a.m. my husband went down and spoke to another member of staff and informed him that we would not be paying for the night’s stay as we had not slept a wink and since this was not a photo studio but a hotel, the residents of the room upstairs should be responsible for paying the bill. No one apologised, no one had one kind word to say... they were only afraid of the Germans !
Later after breakfast we spoke to the female manager who insisted that we should pay the full bill and that Booking.com would refund the last night back to us. I did not believe this story and in fact when we called Booking.com they told us that the hotel should refund the money back to us. We went to speak to the manager and there was a huge argument and after a lot of shouting and people staring, she realised that we could not be conned and was forced to refund the last night immediately.
She had hoped that we would not check with Booking.com and had hoped to get away with making us pay for sleeping in that hotel... when sleeping was the last thing that had been possible! Beware of this hotel... it appears to be quiet and secluded but it is totally the opposite. You can hear the trains passing on the railway track opposite and it’s too far from the beach. It would be wiser to choose something on the seafront.
