First time in Lake Garda and Riva. All as I expected and hoped for at this northern end of the lake, surrounded by mountains and a beautiful view down the lake. Plenty to do, trips on the ferries to other towns on the lake walking along the old road up the side of the mountain and we hired a car with a fantastic day circumnavigating the lake in a day ,stopping off several times on the way.

I was a bit put of with the transfer 1.5hrs but take my word back it was well worth it we got to see some stunning views on our way to our hotel Lots of nice places to eat out quirky little side street with hidden gems then Grand Hotel Riva What a location nice rooms located central to everything The best bit for me was the view from top floor restaurant The view over the lake amazing

Just wanted to give you some feedback on our stay with you last week. The hotel a perfectly located with easy access to the town, restaurants and ferry port. We were pleasantly surprised by our room with a balcony and beautiful view of the lake, albeit a restricted view by trees. We were a little surprised that there was no kettle I. The rooms for hot drinks and that the bottled water in the fridge (which was turned off) was charged for, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was plentiful but the hot drinks were disappointing as one of the coffee machines only poured hot frothy milk and the other machine half a cup that was not hot. There was no English breakfast tea available which I particularly missed. The infinity pool is amazing although on one of the two occasions we went there were young children jumping from the sides, causing mayhem by jumping into the pool which was a bit nerve wracking. The views from the pool is spectacular! The staff all seems to be friendly, the property is clean. We would definately recommend and would stay there again.…

Friendly staff, clean rooms, good value for money. Have stayed there 3 times now and enjoyed each visit. Last twice with a balcony view over the lake - Perfecto! Good location in Riva with lots of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel too

Very clean comfortable and quiet room. Spa with Jacuzzi on floor nine with massage available. Restaurant/bar down stairs not expensive. Pleasant helpful date and an outdoor pool upstairs. Loads of cafes, restaurants and shops in area. Ask about the beach!

This is undoubtedly the worst holiday hotel I have ever visited ! We chose it through the Tour Company who organised our trip, having visited Riva before and knowing it's central location. The hotel itself is so in need of upgrading, the staff are unhelpful, uninterested to the point of rudeness. The only exception was the very nice lady who looked after our room. Breakfast was passable, but the evening dinner experience was nothing short of appaling. Being given a menu sheet each night to choose your meal for the following evening is simply unacceptable, it would take to long to list my grievances regarding the standard of the food. Never in it's wildest dreams is this a 4 Star establishment. Going to Riva - avoid this hotel at all cost, it will spoil your holiday.

Perfect venue in centre of Riva del Garda. Very comfy room with large wet room and balcony, fridge and safe AND a large screen TV. Delicious breakfasts, lots of fruit, croissants, pastries, meats and cheese and lots more. Help yourself style. The only let down was the pool. Small and dangerous. No support to get in and out and very slippery metal steps. Very disappointing as I love to swim. Pool looks much bigger in pictures too.

It’s a shame this hotel is being reviewed for the food. We were b&b so only had breakfast which was continental and had everything we wanted with wonderful views on the 5th floor. We spent 10 nights here and it was perfect for us. I emailed the hotel before arriving to ask for a lake view. Although we were on the second floor, we could just see the lake from our balcony. The room was spacious, well equipped and had a comfy bed and great shower. Plenty of plug sockets and wardrobe space and a mini fridge that had water replenished daily. The pool is smaller than it looks on the pics but we had a day on the roof soaking up the rays and it was lovely to go for a dip. We spent more time at the beach where you could hire sun beds. The hotel is in a perfect location with fabulous views and flat walking to hundreds of cafes and restaurants. Riva is wonderful. We loved the vibe, the food and the people. Highly recommend the yellow speedy boat to Limone and Malcesine (€23 pp) it allowed us to see these beautiful areas in a day.…
