Lovely and clean, we had a room at the back so able to get a good sleep every night. No wifi in rooms, some of our messages actually came through from TUI 11 hours after they were sent. staff a little surly. Difficult trying to work out what food we could have on menu, although the food was very good. not explained by tui. We also found no notice boards for TUI customers in the reception if we wanted to talk to a rep.

Hotel was in perfect location. Walk out of entrance directly into square overlooking the lake. We booked two rooms one having accommodation for three people. I would say some more shelving in wardrobe area with extra coat hangers and shelving or hooks needed in bathroom. Bedroom nice and clean. We had rooms in the back of hotel which wasn’t a problem for us. Staff very pleasant. Breakfast was self service food to good standard. Evening meals you could choose from restaurant menu. Plenty of selection and good quality. The only thing I would suggest is for staff to explain clearly what is available as people have been confused on what to have. We had a 3 course meal no problem within the deal.

Brilliant location for getting out and about on Lake Garda - few steps to the ferry and not far from bus stop. Room was clean and basic with great air con. Advertising on Tui and hotel says free WiFi in rooms which is not true. Wi-Fi near reception downstairs only. We stayed half board with Tui - breakfast is self serve - good continental breakfast but avoid bacon - it was like cellophane - no idea how they cooked it, it was inedible. Evening meal was good but service was hit and miss - serving staff seem to concentrate on ‘paying customers’ outside. Tui customers have to sit inside and service is random. Thoroughly recommend Riva del Garda but not necessarily at this hotel.

Enjoyed our week's stay beginning of July. A friendly welcome when we checked in would have been a good start. First impressions are always important and, after a long journey, we don't expect a frosty reception. None of the staff on reception were welcoming. Hotel is in a wonderful location, but we knew this being repeat guests from a few years ago. Travelled with TUI on a half board package. Refurbished room was a nice surprise. Booked a lake view room and were very lucky to have a high floor room with a Juliette balcony. No room for furniture on the balcony but it was great nonetheless. Storage in the room was very good. Good A/C. Don't normally use but it was definitely needed! Extremely good walk in shower, always appreciated. Hotel is just a brilliant base to explore Melcesine, Limone and Torbole. Enjoyed the ferries and exploring the area. Definitely recommend the Ponale path from Riva for breathtaking views. We must add our thoughts regarding the restaurant staff. A massive 'Thank You' to Oleg, our waiter in the evenings. We remembered him from our previous stay. Such a lovely and helpful guy!! The chef used to come out of the kitchen in quieter moments and was very friendly. The food was always very good. Some of the other waiting staff need to learn how to smile!! Overall, very good holiday.

I am writing this review to vent some of the frustrations we felt. The hotel was spotless rooms etc. However, we felt totally isolated as guests of Tui. We were made to sit in a separate dining room inside away from other guests at the hotel. The first night we made a mistake and sat outside with the other holidaymakers but were told that as we were seated then we could stay there but were warned that every other meal had to be inside as we were with Tui. The staff were extremely rude to us and made us feel very unwelcome. We have been to lake garda previously at another hotel and really enjoyed it.

Stayed here for 7 days as part of a Raildiscoveries tour. Staff very welcoming and friendly but as one of 3 single travellers we were given smaller twin rooms on the noisier street side of the hotel. Room was comfortable and clean but noise from street, bar and reception below meant it was impossible to open the door onto balcony/ window or get to sleep withour earplugs. Asked for a quieter room but not possible. Couples had nice quiter rooms overlooking gardens. Otherwise food was good and location for walking around Garda good but I wouldn't recommend it for single travellers.

This hotel was chosen as a base by the tour company I was with on a trip to the passion play in Oberammergau preceded by time in Northern italy. The rooms were comfortable enough although the air conditioning was inefficient . The hotel staff especially the waiters were extremely rude and treated us like poor relations insisting that we kept to the same table to eat each night. The food was appalling...akin to school dinners. Reception was never properly staffed and we had to queue for long periods at times just to get the keys to our room and on the whole they were most unhelpful. The room was noisy...I suppose this was the price we paid for centrality as we looked out onto the main square where there was loud entertainment most nights. You couldn't keep the rooms cool as the shutters didn't work...they were just for show. I won't book this hotel again.

The Centrale Hotel with its position right next to the Lake Garda is an accomodation for price-conscious travellers. The check-in process was done without any problem. The staff on the reception was helpful and enjoyable. One fact which was a bit uncommen is, that you only get one key for a double room. The rooms are spacious and bright. The tidiness is good. The equipment and the furniture is a bit ageing. Maybe you may say our room was a wonder in pink. :D The beds are okay. We felt relaxed after the night. The most outstanding fact are the bathrooms. These are spacious to, but also much more modern and decent than the rest of the accomodation. If you get a room with balcony you may enjoy a great view no only of Lake Garda, but also the sorrounding mountains and the centre of Riva del Garda. The breakfast was average. You'll find everythin you need to start your day, without any specials. The staff is zealous to keep the buffett assembled. Due to the fact, that the Centrale Hotel is within a pedestrian area you'll have to park your car car park just two minutes away by foot.

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel special. All the staff were amazing and would do anything to make your stay enjoyable. We had a room on the back for three nights which was ideal for us. We then got moved to a suite overlooking the lake as Newmarket had messed us around, the hotel felt bad for us and decided to upgrade us at no cost. The bed was huge and the bathroom was sheer luxury with a hydro tub and rainfall shower, heaven. A special mention to Daniela Rodella on reception who is an absolute legend. Her smiling face was the first we saw at the resort and she always asked "where have you been", "did you have a nice time". A truly remarkable woman. This is a 4 star hotel serving 5 star quality food. There is an open style buffet salad to start, which changes daily, then you have three choices for starters, mains and pudding. I would find it hard to believe that people couldn't find one choice per course to enjoy. We've stayed in a lot of hotels but this has to be my absolute favourite. If your going to visit Lake Garda, don't stay in any other hotel than this one in the resort of Riva. It's a 5 minute walk to the lake for a swim(optional). It's a picturesque 20 min lakeside stroll in to town. The aea is clean and tidy.

The only thing going for this hotel is the position. Right on the edge of the lake. Nothing else good about it. Staff are rude and dont care about anything. The food is terrible. Booked for 3 nights but eat out one night even though we had paid for it. Paid extra for a room with a view which was 60Euros. At least we could look out towards the lake which was very nice. Noise at night was terrible. Not a place to stay with children. Plenty better places to stay than this.
