The real essence of hospitality! The restaurant is really excellent the staff all is peculiar and very good and the chalet is the answer to your mountain stay desire. My family and I spent there 2 nights and had two dinners in the fantastic restaurant and we really could not have asked for more.

We stopped here for coffee and a snack and it has to be said that everything about it was top class. The food and drinks, the service and the location were absolutely top class. There is a little area for kids to play in and the owners were really friendly and helpful especially when one of ours had a fall.

We stayed here for two nights in late July. The hotel is charming in an authentic alpine way, the staff very friendly and helpful, the kitchen great and the walks in the surrounding forest enchanting. On the downside, when we arrived, we were given a very small room without the balcony that we’d booked. At first, we were told that... More

Located just above Sauze d' Oulx and below Sportinia and denoted by a huge bear outside Il Capricorno is the most charming rustic style restaurant. Expect to be welcomed by smartly dressed, charming waiters who will deliver excellent service. The menu and wine list is extensive and offers fine dining and lighter dishes for a ski or mountain walking lunch.... More

Stayed for 5 nights with the family for a skiing holiday. The chalet is on the mountain, by the Clotes lift but we were phoned during the taxi journey to coordinate our arrival where we were met by the friendly Roberto, at the ski hire shop, and transferred by snowmobile to the beautiful hotel. We were given a very warm... More

For a romantic weekend get-away this is the best place ever. Traditional with burning fires, intimate atmosphere, amazing food, friendly service and hidden in the mountains, yet right on the ski-slopes. The hotel receptionist Chiara called twice in advance to make sure taxi transportation from Turin airport and connecting snowscooter from Sauze went flawlessly. We arrived at midnight to a... More

The food here is very good indeed, especially the pasta. However where the hotel is let down is by the staff: we arrived by taxi in Sauze ( arranged through the hotel ) at 2-00pm to be told they could take our bags to the hotel but not us until 5-30pm. Apparently the police will not let people up on... More

Great small place located practically on the slopes. Romantic, old-style chalet with professional and friendly staff. Food was perfect - in both quality and quantity. Note that access to the village without skis is limited; only by snowscooter when lifts are not operating. But that is a minor handicap, because there is no need to go anywhere...

As a group of 4 close friends, we decided to splash out for a special ski get-away and chose the Chalet II Capricorno Hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable and cosy. Woke up to amazing views of the sun rising on the mountains and enjoyed beautiful sunsets - ask for a room with balcony to make the most of the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A portrait of a bygone age framed by mountains, woods, fields and ponds, nestled between the ski slopes of the Cottian Alps, in the upper Val di Susa. In the midst of this, you'll find IL CAPRICORNO, a charming mountain hotel which was opened in 1966 by the Sacchi family. Since then it has been the jewel in the crown of Piedmontese hospitality, whose longstanding reputation is now in the hands of the Carezzana family of Turin, longterm devotees of the area. It's the perfect place for those who love old-style hospitality, where every detail and aspect has been carefully planned without ostentation. Here you'll experience that special Alpine ambiance, so unique and so inimitable, and a tangible sense of calm and tranquillity. Located 1,800 metres above sea level, it is the perfect destination for lovers of sport and winter activities, as well as those who love walking in the fragrant silence of forests in summer and enjoying the seasons as they come and go, transforming the colours of nature, nature that seems to reveal new secrets with every step. ... more   less
