Hiking trip with friends. I can really recommend this 3-star hotel. Clean, Service minded and very good food (both breakfast (lots of variation adm high quality) and half board dinners ( high quality and well prepared)) Good local advice for hiking details. Standard double rooms are clean and comfy beds.
s Cristina is a small village I Val Gardena. Lots of busses near the hotel.

Loved this place!
So many good things to say. :)
Superior room is large, comfortable and well equiped. Towels and bed linens pure white, new and always fresh. Water mixers of good quality. Plenty of hot water anytime. Nice view through the window. By the way, realy good sound proof in the room. Never heard my neighbours :)
Breakfast is good: few kinds of fresh breads, cheeses, meats, boiled eggs, olives, tomatoes, fried eggs, yougurts, fresh pastries and etc. Every room has asigned table for meals. Comfortable.
All members of Demetz family working here are fantastic. Always smiling, always saying something nice. I feel better here with them than with my relatives :) :) :) Good people indeed. They do speak many languages.
There is heated room for skiing shoes and lockers for skiis. Easy access from outside (using your room card).
There is spacious new elevator (carpeted). Cosy :)
Every corner of hotel is clean, well maintaned and managed with care.
Quiet location. No noise from the street. There is a bus stop (ski bus and local buses) near by. We received bus cards for the whole week (10 euro value for one), so it is convenient to reach St. Ulrich, Ortizei, Selva skii regions.
The hotel provides free shuttle service to the Saslong (St. Christina) from 8:30 until 10 a.m. and from 15:45 until 17:00.
I would recomend a "Ski service" across the street, if you need to rent skiis. Nice service, good prices, easy to bring skiis to hotel and give them back.
There is one small super market (150 meters) and you can walk to St. Christina, if you need more supermarkets (DeSpar) or restaurants. Easy to walk, because there is a sidewalk. It will take ~15 minutes (~1,2 km).
Loved the relax point: finish sauna, steam bath, lazy chairs. Towels for this area are provided free of charge. Thank you. Oh yes, swim suites are prohibited :) Present yourself as Adam and Eve. But it is common rule in many relax points, so, better don't be confused. Relax and enjoy.
I would love to stay here again and would recomend to everybody.

This is how a small familiy driven hotel should be. Personnel who are working hard to provide the best of service and friendliness to their guests all the time. We had one superior room which was great and one ordinary room which was OK. Very good breakfast and three courses dinner in the evening. Plus for private ski bus to/from lift when you need it. If we are travelling back to Val Gardenda, this will be the hotel again, no doubt!

The Christeinerhof was one of the highlights of my trip in the Dolomites. Very close to the Sella Ronda (Dolomiti Superski), but quiet and idyllic. The family Demetz run an excellent establishment and make guests feel like they are part of the family. They host a cocktail parties for guests to get to know each other, offer personal greetings and suggestions for your stay, and provide attentive customer service. I was extremely impressed with their ability to communicate in every language represented at the hotel with ease. After a long day of skiing, the dinners they served, hearty, gourmet varieties of local cuisine, were a perfect ending to the challenging slopes and an event itself. I felt like a guest of the family, rather than just another hotel stay. The hotel offers all the amenities of a large hotel, but remains cozy.

I hope to return to Santa Cristina, both summer and winter, and if so, would definitely stay at the Christeinerhof again.

Hotel Christeinerhof is a warm friendly Tirolean hotel with great food and service located in the Val Gardeina valley. It is great for a relaxing week's skiing but is not for those who want to ski to the door or be in the heart of a town.

We booked a late half-board deal with Nielsen at this family run hotel between St Cristina and Ortesei. Transfer was 2.5hrs from Verona. We found the skiing in the Sella Ronda area excellent for intermediate skiers.

The hotel is situated outside the towns but is connected by a fairly regular bus service (1 week pass, 5€) to the ski towns of Ortesei, St Cristina and Selva Gardenia (5/5/15 mins away and direct to the lifts). Apart from lunchtimes, the buses ran well. The bus stop is an easy walk about 50m away from the hotel. So while the hotel is 2km or so from any skilift, in practice there is not much walking to be done. The hotel is located about 35m from a busy road but we had no problems with noise. In practice the logistics for skiing work very well.

Food and service was good-to-excellent and they catered for vegetarians. Breakfast was continental (no cooked). Dinner was typically 4 courses: salad, pasta/soup, main and dessert. Ski lockers are provided along with a heated boot room. There is also a spa with free showers and dry and wet saunas which really help to wind down after a long day's skiing. Also treatments are available for reasonable prices. The common areas are pleasant with internet access for €6/hr.

Both rooms were clean and spacious. For style-freaks, some of the décor was a bit dated although functional and more comfortable many ski-chalets we have stayed in.
If you want apres ski, then this more of a mug of cocoa and slippers kind of place than a party venue. However, if you want to go out at night, taxis to/from S Christine were 10€ or there is an hourly night bus. Our friends rated the swimming pool in S Christina.

Service was provided by the Demetz family who indulged our terrible German and Italian by replying in good English.

we had 4 wonderful days at this hotel, travelling as a dad with his 2 adult kids.

room with balcony in the main house was great, clean and comfy.
wireless internet connection was
fine - as everywhere in the main house. in the seperate building the
internet is not accessable unfortunately.

breakfast was great and the evening
meals very good.

there is a daily shuttle bus from the
hotel to the next access to the sella
ronda. skibus very close by.

skiservice avail overnight.

the so called relax point offering sauna and steam bath and relax zone with free offer of towels - heaven!

we can clearly recommend this hotel and its most friendly and helpful staff!

Hotel Christeinerhof (also known as "Villa Palua") is a charming family-run hotel between Santa Christina and Ortisei, in the Val Gardena Valley. The rooms are spacious and clean, the food is excellent and the staff is very friendly. The only downside could be its location, since it is 2 km. or so from the nearest skilift, but the bus stop is very close. The wellness area (dry and wet saunas, showers, jakuzi), although small, is stylish and is a real treat after a long days skiing.

I could not help but specifically mention the owners of the hotel (family Demetz) . They responded to all our questions and requests always with a smile on their face.

I definetely will go back to this hotel, hopefully in the near future!

Spent there three nights in July and I liked it very much. Although the place is located approx. 1km below the centre of the town (but if you are there for trekking it is good news, after all), it is close to major trekking trails. Cleanliness, breakfasts, room, friendly owners, running the hotel, etc. - all was just as expected, of a very good quality. The prices were more than reasonable, so if you do not mind being a little outside of the centre - go for it! One hint, however - if you go there on business, bear in mind that Christeinerhof has one of the worst WiFi connections I have ever seen...

I did not like the single room , small, with small windows placed high, a bathroom rather ugly and old noisy radiators (especially early in the morning!) that need to be repaint. In the bathroom there was a trap door that gave access to an attic full of rubble... The shower was clogged. There weren't heated towel rail. Negative even the ski room: boot warmers are in a small room with very low ceiling and they do not work properly. And it is even worse: leaving the boots in this room they will not dry out but you will find them even more wet due to the high humidity inside! The first time I opened the door of the ski room I had my glasses fogged! Meals are decent for quantity and presentation, but I got the impression they were using good ingredients and therefore I appreciate. There is a shuttle that can take guests to the lifts and comes to take them back. This hotel is in a location away from the town center.
