Excellent restaurant and pleasant rooms

The hotel is located perfectly close to town and shopping, equipped with all the comfort you would expect of a luxury hotel. Larger sauna area and variety of saunas. We like the modern art tastily distributed in all areas, the furniture, the bar all decorated in the best of taste. The rooms are a pleasure to look at, spacy and comfortable to live in. The bathrooms are most modern and equipped with all possible amenities. The staff and personnel are extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. We booked a nice room with balcony, very pleasant room. The breakfast was an indulgence of fruits, cakes, international and Italian food. The breakfast offers a beautiful view and perfect service, it was just a pleasure. We will certainly return. During our stays we also had dinner at the restaurant. They serve a wide variety of Italian food. Nice regional dishes and tasteful combinations of regional and Italian ingrediencies. The food is of high-quality and the service is excellent, very friendly, attentive and helpful in selecting the right choice of food. Good value for the money.…

A beautiful hotel!

I would like to warmly recommend Schmied Hans hotel where I have spent a very nice week. This is a relatively small hotel, presumably newly refurbished, that skilfully combines exquisite taste, modern chic and coziness. I loved the interior starting from the small, but beautifully styled lobby, to the spacious minimalistic restaurant (a huge vase of autumn flowers at its entrance was one detail that set the tone), to a semi-dark fireplace room emanating warmth, with plenty of chairs and tables of all kinds and sizes scattered around, to, of course, my room. I had a standard double room in the second floor overlooking a mountain valley (ah, those views! Even when the mountains were hidden in a thick fog, it was still a pleasure to watch that blueish-white backdrop from my balcony), with a minimalistic design, brown, greyish and black colours juxtaposed with white. Yet it didn't feel in any way cold or bare, the designers having found the right balance. The room had plenty of space, one could dance in there! The light solution deserves a special mention. There was no single central ceiling lamp, instead there were various smaller sources of light spread across the room: two suspended bras at the bedside, one lamp on the table, one in a corner and a handful of spots in the ceiling. While in the long run I would have preferred one additional brighter lamp for the whole room, for the short stay I definitely enjoyed this soft dim light. Another obvious plus was the late breakfast (till 11 am, and they offered prosecco on Sunday!) - I really don't like to get up too early when on vacation. The breakfast choice was good & impeccably fresh, although I wouldn't say it "exceeded expectations" :) It also didn't vary in the seven days I stayed at the hotel, but then it might be just me being fussy. One more nice detail was the inner yard of the hotel where they have a small garden. At the end of October it was already too cold to use the chaise longues that stood there quite invitingly, but I am sure that if I had come a couple of weeks earlier, lying there looking at the mountain tops in the morning would have been just perfect. Schmied Hans also has a swimming pool and a sauna. I didn't use those, as I cannot agree with the strange rule of being naked in the saunas, but my friend with whom I travelled says the facility is in a good condition. Last but not least, the team! First of all, and I take it as a sign of professionalism that only accumulates over the years, you don't need their help too often, because everything, and I mean everything, is in place, things run smoothly and intuitively. Secondly, when you do need help, it always comes with a smile and great mood, you feel welcome at all times. I loved that! To conclude, Schmied Hans is a great place which I would love to return to at some point. For me, the best words to describe it are "beautiful" & "comfortable", and beauty for me is important to be able to unbend mind & soul. Thank you the hotel team!…

high class and friendly hotel above Merano

4 nights in a wonderful place. Although right on the main street the room towards the back side was quiet enough to allow sleeping wiht windows open and great view during daytime. Modern and clean interior. Super relaxing spa. Restaurant with friendly and professional personnel and excellent food. Leo, the hotel dog, always lying in one's way, is a mascot which makes the place unique.
