The entire hotel, embedded in the "city location" of Wolkenstein, is full of feel-good moments (first impression/condition/equipment/staff all excellent). The entire staff - ALL - are extremely friendly, warm and fully focused on the guest. Every little thing counts and everyone is there for the guest to make them feel completely comfortable. The entire hotel complex is well maintained, the rooms are happily maintained and cleaned every day. The entire staff was extremely committed!
The breakfast is certainly sufficient and the evening meal is varied and coordinated. The main courses with half board are chosen before dinner in the evening, you don't have to decide a day earlier - during or after dinner the day before! The "boss" pays attention to the optimal treatment of the guests and personally sets an example for his staff - perfect!
The wellness area is adequately equipped with -3- saunas, a well-kept and quiet outdoor area - despite the "city location" - is available for lingering and relaxing. Parking spaces are available free of charge for all guests arriving by car.
The room with a large balcony on the 3rd floor (under the "roof") - a junior suite with a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains - was a very impressive size with all the comforts (including a fridge and mini-bar). The large bathroom was equipped with a bathtub - if that's what you like!
From our point of view - 4 people - it was the right decision after a necessary hotel change (various reasons) in South Tyrol. We can fully recommend this "LIKE HOME Charming Hotel".
The website is correct and reflects reality clearly and distinctly!

I usually do not write reviews but this hotel remained in my heart, I had a fabulous holiday. Hotel Dorfer is located in the center of Selva surrounded by a beautiful flower garden. I think it is the only one with an open view of the Sella Group and the Sassolungo! Our room one standard was renovated, beds very comfortable and always spotless. Great breakfast served on the panoramic terrace, with the possibility of fresh centrifuges, homemade cakes and desserts, strudel, fresh fruit, a thousand granola and yogurt, eggs, delicious bread even gluten-free and several milk for those with allergies. The highlight is the kitchen. Every day a show of dishes that were not only beautiful but above all good. The quality of meat and fish excellent. A 10 and praise to the chef who every day presented us with wonderful dishes. Reception, table service and bar service, always very attentive and with a smile. All young guys with the desire to work well and satisfy the customer. The owner, Mrs. Heidi with her children run the family hotel with such diligence and know-how, every detail is taken care of and studied. Here the customer feels really good. Well done! We will definitely return

In my opinion one of the best hotels I have visited. The thing that struck me most is the attention to detail from the garden to the rooms, where you can sense the attention to the customer. Staff all really very kind and friendly. The menu , vegetarian, fish , local and meat allows you to enjoy starred restaurant dishes. Very quiet hotel and very close to the center.

We had multiple problems with the key cards, they stopped working and the receptionist declined to give us an another key card for us to get into our room. She tried to frighten us with paying 3 euros for an another key but we found our way back. The fridge leaked with dirty water, and it split all over our precious food. Most of the restaurant staff is lovely but some gave us stares when we were eating cookies. The staff did not allow people to stay seated next to the bar, even without ordering food after 10pm and they were all drinking alcohol, which is unprofessional behaviour. Even though the location is nice and the views from some rooms are terrific, I recommend you find a more practical hotel with an actual swimming pool you can enjoy. Please consider this as a way of helping you decide on the right thing.

This is hands down one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The people who run & work at this place are amazing and there are so many extras that were unexpected. From the moment we checked in we felt like valued guests and the dinner that night was absolutely one of the best meals we have ever had. The food here is epic. The rooms are spotlessly clean and there is plenty of space to spread out luggage. We loved the bathrooms especially. Location is perfect, just a minute walk from a supermarket and less than 5 min walk from downtown.

What really impressed us was that the breakfast charge (which we originally booked with the room) was credited toward the amazing dinner - this was unexpected and a reason we will come back to Dorfer Hotel.

Everybody we encountered at reception and housekeeping was super friendly and helpful.

Special thanks go to Alessandro who waited on us for both dinner and breakfast (he made our stay) and Maxim the house dog who greeted us every time we arrived or left the hotel.

Very central, clean, well maintained, well-kept garden, uncovered parking.

So far everything as planned.
We'll sit at the table for dinner.

Caprese revisited.
I'll put the picture up for you to understand, judge for yourself. The taste, say not pleasant ..

Potato dumpling with nettles and Philadelphia cheese filling.
It lacked cooking, not a little ..

Veal fillet.
Very good, shame portion really minimal, side by side half cool.

Breakfast:
At first glance wide.
Tasting: unique “homemade” muffins and plum cakes evidently thawed at the moment.

No trace of:
Fresh red fruits.
Red fruit desserts.
Strudel di mele!!

In my opinion very serious in the heart of the Dolomites.

I state that I have eaten in various places, from the compi school of the parish to climbing.

We have always cooked at home (my grandmother worked for years in an important restaurant), in our small way we know how to recognize flavors and raw materials, this gourmet cuisine (if we want to call it that), has little to do with the homemade things that were praised in the presentation of the initial offer .. and above all do not satisfy those who come to the mountains to do the various activities of Gardena Active!

The insufficient rating, however, comes not only from the kitchen, but from the indifference of the staff on the evenings of the dinner not consumed, which led us to immediately cancel the half Inn service.

The day before leaving for dinner elsewhere, we greet the owner who tells us she would like to have us for dinner.
He had no idea what had happened four nights before.

PS: Elsewhere (a few meters away) we found very simple or even elaborate things, but with traditional South Tyrolean flavor and portions largely in line with daily activities.

Salty and sweet.

We can all make mistakes, absolutely, but regret the indifference towards customers who send back more dishes.

I already knew the hotel for having been there previously with good satisfaction and the last recent experience of staying was confirmed to be up to '.
The hotel offers a wide range of services, all managed with impeccable professionalism while being family-run. The equipment in the room is complete and the 'relaxing environment to the maximum. Despite being in the town center, silence reigns supreme and the glance of the surrounding mountains is of rare beauty. The outdoor environment, in which stands out a beautiful garden, with blooms of every color, lovingly cared for in all details personally by the family, is extremely pleasant. The best relaxation is guaranteed.
The breakfast buffet offers a choice that is difficult to expand and dinner offers different preparations every day, created with considerable skill and care and served in a welcoming environment that promotes soft conversation (in two weeks I have never heard a mobile phone in action in the dining room).
All the staff is characterized by an efficient and discreet service with constant attention to the guest, always with grace and kindness.
For my taste it is difficult to do better.

Our review is positive, we can recommend the hotel dorfer and if we succeed we will be back. We stayed during the New Year period. Excellent dinners, from appetizers to buffet always varied and always different, very good meat, to improve vegetarian dishes. I find it very nice that there is also the choice of vegetarian dishes, although it needs to be improved. The rich breakfasts, I still remember our amazement to see how much variety and food was present at breakfast. The best dish of the week: tagliolini alla carbonara. Thanks also to the waiter Alessandro who was able to entertain us with professionalism and without intrusiveness, kind and always courteous and who knows we hope to find next year. His kindness made us feel at home. We must also say that all the staff were always courteous and helpful. The rooms are nice, the proximity to the lifts good for skiing! The hotel is also close to the center, in five minutes you are downtown. Recommended!!

Classic 4* family run hotel but at the top in almost all fields.
Located 3 minutes walk from the center and 100 meters from the ski slopes, cozy hotel complete with all comforts.
Spacious rooms (only the third bed is not a real bed but an armchair / sofa bed) and spotless (cleaning service really level).
Very nice and cozy common areas (TV with DAZN / AMAZON Prime), from the bar to the reception to the restaurant room.
For those who ski, ski-room with lockable locker for each room with boot warmer.
Hearty snack included from 15 to 17 (both sweet and savoury).
The big plus finally is the level of the kitchen. Chef, cuisine and truly spectacular service (from buffet appetizers, which are other dishes different every day, to the refinement and goodness of the dishes). The breakfast was great.
They complete a SPA and a selection of really good herbal teas (purchased with very nice packaging).
