One week of skiing over New Year with 5 adult family members. We all enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a little walk from the bars and apres ski but is very close to the nursery slopes with good access to the whole resort. Welcoming staff and excellent nicely varied food. Very comfortable spacious rooms with plenty of storage.

We are a big family of 12, who spent a whole week at the hotel. We enjoyed every minute ! the rooms are amazingly cozy and spacious, the hotel staff are always happy to help and are super welcoming. The restaurant was def the top, the food is absolutely amazing starting from a rich morning buffet and the chef style dinner was delicious every night. The sauna is also very nice with a few options and a nice relax room. All in All - 10 out of 10 !

We spent a week over New Year at Hotel Dorfer. We had an absolutely amazing stay! The hotel was lovely and the food was excellent. All of the staff were incredibly friendly. The NYE gala was a brilliant evening and the staff went beyond expectations to provide a great evening. Would 100% recommend!

Our stay at the Hotel Dorfer was the highlight of a wonderful ski trip in the Dolomites. The staff is welcoming, helpful and pay close attention to every detail. When they noticed that my six-year-old son was wearing an adult's bathrobe to go to the spa, hours later a kid's sized bathrobe had been placed in our room. Speaking of the rooms, they are just heaven: stylishly decorated and spacious with great views. Every evening it was a joy to come into the room to discover what creature the cleaning staff had made our of towels. Clearly, they have a great sense of humour. The breakfasts have everything you could want and more. The dinner menu includes many options for all kinds of tastes. The atmosphere is relaxed chic. People dress up a bit for dinner but it never feels stuffy. Before dinner, my son had nightly conversations with the charming bartender Gianluca who would serve him a freshly squeezed orange juice while they'd chat about...I have no idea what. Even though my son doesn't speak Italian, he loved those moments with Gianluca. The spa that includes several saunas, a steam room, a whirlpool and a lounge area with tea and water became a daily ritual for us. You can also get a massage on site. The location is very central - walking distance to the main street in town and a 2-minute walk to the ski hill that connects to Alta Badia. To give you a sense of how much we loved the place - we cut short our skiing every day just so we could spend more time in the hotel. It became a home away from home.…

We stayed at Hotel Dorfer for four nights and loved every second of our stay. The staff is very welcoming and will do everything they can in order to make your stay unforgetable. The hotel itself is so charming, it is traditional yet extremely well kept. Very clean, warm and comfortable. The rooms are large with plenty of room for clothes and luggage. Breakfast had all you could ask for and more, the dinner was a perfect combination of buffé, apertizer, main course, dessert and cheese corner. The staff in the restaurant was very friendly and we especially appreciated the wine recommendations. We also enjoyed sitting in the sun on the patio in front of the hotel after a days hike, and the wellness area with whirlpool is very relaxing and clean. If in Val Gardena, this is definitely the place to stay! Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable.…

My husband and I have stayed at Hotel Dorfer during two different trips to Val Gardena. Last year we really liked it (even though the atmosphere was a bit cold) and we looked forward to returning. It was clean, comfortable and in a good location. This year however we found it to be overpriced, noisy, and the service has very much deteriorated. We booked a Rosalpina room at €300 per night. Our room looked nothing like the website photos and was much smaller. There was quite a lot of noise from the dining room, kitchen and service entrance below. On our last night we got very little sleep because the children of the owners and a very large group of their teenage friends were having a party outside in the garden until 1.30am. We had to listen to their music, shouting and singing until the early hours. We were exhausted and phoned reception at 1am to complain. We didn't even get an apology on the phone (literally "yeah, yeah, I know". I then asked if it could be ended and the response was "yeah it's stopping". No apologies at all.) The next day at checkout I expected that we might get a sincere apology for the disturbance and perhaps a reduction on the bill to reflect the appalling experience, but no! On a minor note: the breakfast waiting staff change out of their traditional/professional outfits about 15 minutes before breakfast is due to end and start clearing away the food. Not exactly a relaxing, welcoming experience. We will be back to Val Gardena next year but we will be staying elsewhere. …

I had a few wonderful days at the hotel during my stay in June. The hotel is located in the center of Selva and you can reach all you need within walking distance. The service was excellent and Heidi, the owner, she was an awesome host. I‘m coming back...

A really super hotel where nothing is too much trouble.Very well run, spacious and spotlessly clean. A few minutes walk from the centre of town, very close to a lovely supermarket. Fab rooms, great food and lots of it, highly recommended.
