Perched on a high hillside overlooking the doorway into the former trading town of Bandipur, Himalayan Hideaway provides a unique tented retreat. Nine private, two-bed tents unite the luxury of protection from the elements and an intimate experience with the purity of a picturesque scene where time has stood still.Adjacent to the tented retreat is Cafélaya, which serves organic coffee sourced from local cooperatives. The menu blends organic, locally grown ingredients into classic Western coffeehouse favorites while it provides delicacies for the native palate. Few steps away from the tented retreat we have building consisting of fourteen accommodation rooms with good facilities which has always provided the comfortable stay to our guests.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Himalayan Hideaway, on a hilltop on the edge of scenic Bandipur, offers guests a choice of indoor rooms or canopied tents outdoors. The location is great, just a five minute walk from the village's historic center, restaurants, and shops. We stayed in room 401 (the Ganesh room), the only room with an attached bathroom (actually, 3 rooms: a bedroom with a comfortable king bed, a room with table and chairs --convenient for wifi--and the bathroom). The truly unfortunate thing was that the bathroom had not been cleaned, for a long time. Dirt could be scraped out of the sink with a fingernail--consequently, we didn't want to touch anything. I checked the bathrooms shared by the other rooms and they looked fine--just this one was in bad condition. Regretfully, we would not stay here again.

This hotel was great! Location was good, beautiful views and close to town. Free wifi and hot water. The hotel worker Prem was very nice and friendly, looked after us and became a real friend during our week long stay! Definitely recommend this place if you are going to Bandipur.

Tented Camp set in the village of Bandipur, truly gives one a fresh perspective in life... Simplicity of the villagers, majestic glory of the mountains, the greenery and rich culture hundreds of years old all in one... You can sip your espresso, be pampered by the amazing service from the staff and at the same time be involved with the life of a village... Went there with friends and kids, in total 15 of us... Every moment was wonderful. From the early sunrise rush to Tundikhel to be above the clouds with the majestic mountains at your level, to hike up to Gompa to see an amazing sunset... A village walk to culturally rich town strolls... Amazing Nepali cuisine to delicious barbecue... Truly a fun trip... A must do...
