This place is wonderful ! We had an amazing time and we’ll come again for sure !
The location is spot on, just at the step of the slopes and in addition the hotel provides a private service to take you and bring you back from the slopes. No hustle or stress of carrying your skiing equipment !
Easy drive to amazing scenic views and hikes around.
The orientation is also appreciated as you get to eat every breakfast bathed in sunlight !
The rooms are spacious with large comfortable beds.
The equipment of the hotel is spot on. Everything is thought through and nothing is missing. From the spa, multiple lounges, bar, kids play room, safe and clean garage, huge ski storage unit … they have it all.
The bar tender will make you all kinds of great cocktails and the alcohols are very high quality. The portions are very generous and multiple snacks are served with your drinks !
The food was good with very generous meals. We were rarely able to make it through all of the 5 dishes ;)
Generally speaking we very much appreciated the extreme service minded, and attention to detail and to your comfort that the
staff is constantly offering.
Special attentions are constantly done to make your stay feel extra special. The staff quickly make the effort to know you, and your personal preferences. This makes the entire experience feel above what can be found elsewhere ! Bravo to the team !
The manager of the hotel is very friendly, very present, he knows his guests well and is very hard working !

From the moment you arrive at Hotel Monika you are looked after so well by the very genuine, hard working and charming staff. The Hotel is in the Sesto valley and there are mountain views all round, it's a special location. The standards are very high and every area of the hotel is spotlessly clean. We visited in June 2022 for a few days walking the excellent mountain trails. After an epic (for me...) 14 mile hike, the only thing that kept me going was having a cold beer on the Hotel's terrace gazing up at the mountains we had just been walking up. Burn as much energy as you like every day because there is a five course dinner waiting for you every night! The food at Hotel Monika is very, very good. The menus are well thought out and the portion sizes are perfect. The kitchen brigade do a brilliant job and they are backed up by excellent waiting staff who magically appear to serve your next course. The service here is second to none and in fact better than a michelin starred restaurant I ate in recently. On top of great food and service, every table in the restaurant is visited by the owner, the very charming Alexander Egarter, who will ask if he can do anything for you and will try to entice you with a bottle of fresh water from the mountain streams. It is rare to see this level of service these days.
Our bedroom was spacious, with a large bathroom and a balcony looking out over fields to the mountains in the background. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent. My only slight negative was that the rooms don't have air conditioning and it can be quite warm at night as there is little air flow. Obviously not a problem for the winter season!
I can't recommend Hotel Monika highly enough, go and experience a lovely hotel that will be genuinely pleased to have you there.

I stayed in this wonderful place for ten nights.
For a few days I was joined by friends who also appreciated this nice place.
The hotel is located on the outskirts of the village and is within walking distance of the lifts and from the hotel you can go on very beautiful hikes, including the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo!
If I were a composer, I would write an anthem for this place!
Definitely one of the best vacations of my life. I liked everything - hotel, staff, service.
The hotel is very well decorated and equipped. Its small but important things - a basket with towels to go to the spa area, a backpack for hiking, sunglasses and sunscreen in the outdoor pool, very responsive and friendly staff, various events every day. Every detail has been thought of, although there is simply no detail in this hotel!
You can enjoy the outdoor pool, sunbathing area, many saunas and indoor pool, and quality massages.
Kitchen… The kitchen is very boring because I didn’t find any major mistakes in enjoying ten wonderful five star restaurant dinners and breakfasts. Each dinner had all three main elements - appearance, texture and taste.
You won't be hungry in the middle of the day either!
I recommend this place to anyone and anytime alone or with family or friends. If you want to enjoy your best vacation and the best hospitality, you must be here!
I really hope to return here as soon as possible!

The owner Alex and his team made sure that we had an exceptional stay at Hotel Monika. Excellent service, fantastic, elaborate food&wine - (their 5 course dinners are an event in itself), great spa and pool area makes it a perfect place to stay and come back to after a day spent in nature. If you are stuck for ideas the hotel offers guided tours and you can rent bikes (electric ones as well). The care taken to maximise guest safety (for COVID) reasons, without taking away the hospitality experience was also top end. I highly recommend Hotel Monika.

We stayed in this hotel for the second time and, to sum it up, it was fantastic again. We have already stayed in many 5* hotels all over the world and also in South Tyrol, but we particularly like this one because of the great location, the perfect and friendly service and the fantastic food.
Location:
The location in Sexten is perfect for exploring the Sexten Dolomites, especially the Dreizinnen of course. But other great hikes also start in the surrounding area, we made great tours from the small hiking guide that is available in the room.
Rooms:
I can recommend the newer rooms in the annex, the view of the Sexten sundial is really indescribable. We had the Deluxe 40 room, which is modernly furnished on the ground floor with loungers on the terrace with a view of the mountains. The more expensive rooms also include the underground parking space.
Food:
Early breakfast buffet, ideal if you want to start your hikes early, which leaves nothing to be desired. Lunch snack with warm lunch dishes and salads, cold dishes, cakes, ice cream.
Dinner with a choice of courses, which is really exceptionally good. High quality ingredients and everything put together and presented very well.
Perfect service!
Wellness:
The only (small) downside is the (relatively) small wellness area. The infinity pool with a view of the Dolomites is fantastic, but the sunbathing area around it is comparatively small. There is more sunbathing space in the garden area and around the indoor pool. Of course sufficient for after hiking, but perhaps too small for "just" wellness or in persistently bad weather.
Audience:
Guests from all over Europe, of course many Italians and German-speaking guests. Virtually no small children. Really ideal for guests looking for peace and quiet.
Other:
You can see at every corner of the hotel that the boss and host is there with heart and soul and takes great care of you. It is a really great personal and warm atmosphere. The highlight is the reception hosted by the boss once a week, where delicious little things of the highest quality are served either in the garden or in the fireplace room.
100% recommendation, we will definitely come back!

For the ratings/reviews and the price we paid we expected more. Breakfast was ok, nothing special, the only good thing there is Robert making fresh pancakes/omelettes, the rest quite standard. Service average, the first morning we went for breakfast we were left there waiting and when I asked where I should sit they responded like I was supposed to know. Waiting time for coffee during breakfast was long. We told them it was our child birthday so we expected as in other hotels something for her (a card, a small cake), but nothing. they didn't seem interested to make our experience special as in other hotels in same region. Rooms were nice and spacious, cleaning lady friendly. We booked it after having read some great comments, but we were disappointed of the experience I wouldn't rate it 5 stars. I suppose it is the right place if you want to be left alone.

We had an absolute pleasure of staying in this cosy family owned wellbeing hotel for 8 nights, following a brief road trip through Europe. The food is simply fabulous, starting from breakfast to dinner & snacks, and followed by a 5 course gourmet dinner in the evening. Honestly the food is just the best (and we are very particular about what we eat!).
Another highlight is the SPA area and the two swimming pools - a rooftop outdoor pool with a sundeck and views of the mountains, and an indoor pool with view of the hot tub and garden. Plenty of opportunities to chill and relax there after a long day of hiking. You can also do yoga in the yoga cube (lead in Italian or German) or work out with the trainer or on your own.
We also loved socialising with the other guests in the so called chimney room - there were drinks and snacks before the dinner one night for all the guests.
A lot of good hiking trails nearby or within a reach of a short car ride (hotel shuttle is also possible but we used our own car).
We felt very welcome and are definitely coming back again!

5-star hotel where I stayed eight nights half board in a Pinus room on the second floor with balcony and beautiful view of the Croda rossa. Nice facility and very good services from the owner Alexander and his staff. I point out the strengths of the hotel: excellent preparation and quality of food; cleanliness; courtesy of the staff; modern wellness center; outdoor pool of 20 meters; buffet service for lunch and in the afternoon with fresh and hot drinks included (rare case in a 5 star hotel where I have always found them for a fee); no obligation to drink bottled water for dinner (in many 5 stars even in the mountains where the water is very good oblige you to buy bottles); large covered parking; possibility of using standard bikes (free) and electric (for a fee but at an affordable price) of the hotel; hotel app structured very well with all the necessary information of the structure and the ability to read many newspapers and magazines; in the beautiful panoramic sauna very well organized steam jets at 17 and 18 every day. Finally, I point out some areas for improvement, also deriving from the experience of stays in hotels of the same category (5 stars) also in South Tyrol: during dinner and breakfast the room staff should not start to set and clean the tables for the next service with the guests still in the room; provide for the presence of bath towels also at the outdoor pool; insert at least one other first course in the menu of the day and avoid the surcharge for some dishes of the alternative menu; the waiter when serving the dish should not ask by whom it was ordered and always serve the woman first; equip the pinus room with additional lamps for reading in bed (however as soon as I reported the problem the staff very quickly provided me with an additional reading lamp, congratulations); on the first evening at dinner we were placed in the stube as the main dining room was fully booked and this means that to take advantage of the excellent buffet of salads, cheese, fruit, etc. you must cross the bar (the guest should be notified in advance of this temporary accommodation. We asked to be moved to the main room and this happened immediately from the second evening).

We have just spent a wonderful weekend as a couple and I can only confirm the positive reviews. Welcoming and well-organised hotel, not too large, immersed in a fairytale landscape. The staff is kind and attentive, as is the owner Alexander, very present and truly thoughtful and friendly. Excellent cleanliness, a well-kept environment without being pretentious and pleasant scents everywhere. Neat rooms and comfortable beds. The cuisine in the 3/4 board is excellent, prepared with quality raw materials and nothing is missing, from breakfast to dinner. We also appreciated that spring water is included, something that many other hotels in the area tend to speculate on a little too much in my opinion. The spa is excellent, with a tea lounge well stocked with tea, herbal teas, dried fruit and fresh drinks, several relaxation areas and saunas. The pools are sometimes a little crowded but you can always find a calm moment to swim. Having small children, we also took a look at the children's playroom and found it clean, welcoming and well equipped. It is certainly a hotel that is more suited to adult guests but to us it still seemed suitable for families, and the staff was also very attentive to the little ones. Another thing we noticed and appreciated is a fairly careful approach to limiting waste.

the experience at the Monika hotel was really pleasant. We spent 9 days of total well-being, relaxing in the spa and eating high quality dishes.
The room we stayed in is very comfortable: the bed is among the most comfortable I have ever felt, there is a large sofa and a balcony with an enchanting view of the pastures. The bathroom is very large with a double sink and a large shower. Cleanliness is impeccable.
On the terrace there are two deckchairs with a very warm blanket. One of the most beautiful memories are the evenings and mornings wrapped in the blanket enjoying the quiet and good air of Trentino.
The SPA is fantastic: the skypool with a view of the Dolomites is an experience absolutely worth doing. The cleanliness and the little attention paid to guests during the SPA are truly remarkable.
The cuisine is amazing, dishes are served at dinner that have nothing to envy of starred restaurants. In 9 days we never ate the same things and we ate so well that I can't say which dish I liked the most. They were all delicious. We had stayed overnight with half board however for lunch it is possible to have a tasty and abundant buffet lunch open until the afternoon, ideal after walking or after the SPA.
Finally, what made everything even more impeccable was the courtesy and kindness of the staff, qualified and friendly people. The owner greeted us several times with a greeting and welcome, you can feel the passion and dedication in this family-run establishment but excellently organised, as in the most famous chains.
We felt pampered and had a wonderful time. I can't wait to go back
