My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Malibu in Spotorno, on the western Italian Riviera, for a weekend in June 2014. This unpretentious, affordable hotel is located in the pedestrian-only historic centre of a town beloved by D. H. Lawrence. The hotel is one block from the seaside promenade but does not have direct access to the beach. We asked for a room with balcony and were given room 207, a corner room on the top floor with view of the old town's rooftops. The room had a ceiling fan, air conditioning and a small fridge. A continental breakfast is included, featuring Ligurian specialties such as focaccia. The management is friendly and helpful--they even offered us a ride to the train station. More

we've been twice with our motorcycle. first time, we were back from Bastia with severe mechanical problem that bmw agency in bastia could not fix. the staff of the hotel was simply great. as we were above to head back to Switzerland, on a saturday morning, they offer a solution: the guy at front desk required a friend to come to the hotel, a bmw motorcycle expert. He could fix the bug within 15 minutes. we could therfore go on with our vacacion in south of france. the hotel is simple, but cheap, and very very friendly. Ideal for sea holidays or just to sleep over before or after boarding a ferry to corsica. the rooms are originals, one of them with a huge terrasse over the roofs of sportono. definitly a place to go.
