Great 4 nights spent here with the family. Absolutely stunning setting in a beautiful part of the world. Service from the staff was second to none, so many people around and all were very polite and helpful. Food in the restaurant was brilliant and all excellently priced (see app for more details). As others have noted the sound proofing in the apartments was pretty lacking, but beyond that can't have any complaints. Would certainly recommend.

Diacceroni is a high quality agriturismo in very rural Tuscany. When we stayed it was incredibly hot (37 degrees every day). We stayed for a week in a lovely apartment which had air con (€35 extra for the week). Only issues was noise from adjoining apartments - there is NO soundproofing so the kid next door dragging furniture across the floor at 6am every morning or crying constantly at 12am was fully audible to all of us. The welcome, pasta and pizza evenings (all included in the price) we’re brilliant. Lots of activities available onsite (horse-riding lessons, pizza-making and off-roading a big hit with our family also). That aside, Diacceroni is a bit off the beaten track - 1:15hr to get to Florence, 1hr+ to the coast. All in though a great place for a one week holiday.

Diacceroni review We booked our trip for October 2023 after having to cancel in 2020 and 2022. Our stay at Agriturismo Diacceroni was worth the three year wait. We were warmly greeted by Massimiliano and his staff. We were treated like family during the week that we visited. Our experiences started with a pasta class with Lucia, Olive harvest, press and oil tasting with Giovanni and Tiziana and a Sunset horseback ride with Peter. We enjoyed wonderful group activities of the Welcome Party, Pizza Party and Pasta Party throughout the week. Alessandro and Sara served us delicious locally sourced tuscan food and wines prepared in the restaurant and served overlooking the farm and lake. The two bedroom apartment was spacious and had a kitchen with full size appliances and all of the cookware to prepare meals. We enjoyed coffee & wine from our outdoor patio. Location was great for visiting other hill towns in Tuscany which were within a few hours drive. We visited Montalcino, Montieri, Montepulciano, Pienza, Peccioli and Lajatico. Took the pizza making class, then lunch of pizza and antipasti. The location was beautiful, and the pizza ingredients were so fresh and tasty. Good for adults and kids. We tasted olive oil, jam, and wine made locally and had the opportunity to purchase products produced by the farm. The ladies who helped with the class were patient with us and told us about the ingredients and where they came from, and how they were produced. It was like being in someone's home.

This was our first trip to Tuscany and also to an Agriturismo. We really didn't know what to expect. I will say that this operation was pretty impressive - for being a working farm on the top of a mountain,;the main facility itself was really thoughtfully designed and offered a lot of amenities. We found that the family who operated the farm and everyone on their staff that we came in contact with was absolutely wonderful to us and full of smiles and willingness to help. Diacceroni produces all of their own wine and its really good. They also produce olive oil, balsamic vinegar, pasta, ragu sauce and the list goes on. 3 times per week, they offer welcome parties or nightly gatherings in which you can sample all of their food including Tuscan classics - this is included with a stay of 4 night or more by the way - free of charge. These evenings also included entertainment in the from of a DJ booth with music and some fun performances for kids . We opted into one of their excursions that they offered which was truffle hunting, where we met the resident truffle hunter and his dogs. I had no idea that truffle dogs can cost between $20K - $100K + dollars. It was really interesting to watch the dogs take commands and find areas that had truffle scents in the ground. In our few hours out we found 2 black truffles, then participated in a truffle-based lunch with a Ukranian family that we spent the day with. It was a very enriching day and created memories we wont soon forget. Diacceroni has numerous properties that you can stay at in their footprint on the mountain tops. We happened to choose Pelagaccio which was a 15 minute drive from the main property. We chose this because we wanted more privacy and quiet time, which turned out to the be right choice with the party nights at Diacceroni's main property. this is however the part in which I've given a 4-star review vs 5. A 4 is "very good" - a 5 is excellent. Our check in process was good. The gentleman that helped us was very nice and lead us to our apartment at Pleagaccio. Upon checking into our apartment, we quickly realized that this destination is designed to have the occupant bring everything with them. It had a few basic things in it to cook with but not enough to actually prepare meals. As we explored further, there was no soap in our unit (shower, bathroom, etc). There was also no toilet paper. Half the lights were burnt out and there were cob webs hanging from our the lights in bedroom and living room. We had to ask for toilet paper and the front desk said they didn't know what to do about soap - even though they were selling soap right there on the counter so we bought some. We stayed here for 8 nights - we had envisioned reading, cooking in our apartments and the outside grilles and spending a lot of quiet time investing into our personal interests, including watching movies at night. the furniture however in this unit was pretty uncomfortable - the couch was so rickety we didn't even sit on it and it was dirty. The bed was just a flat mattress on a frame and we both struggle from back pain and didn't get good rest. The wifi also did not work in our room so my ability to get some work done, stream movies and get basics done online in the middle of our month long trip was pretty much not an option. The grilles outside the units were pretty broken down and had garbage in them or under them for the most part. they didn't supply anything in terms of using the outside grilles so we didn't use them. There was a beautiful pool on the mountain top at this location which was a selling point of choosing this space, and when the gentleman showed us our space, he also talked about the pool, but upon checking it out it was fairly unmaintained, full of dirt and leaves and none of the chairs or sun-beds around the pool offered cushions or anything to use. it was an un-useable space. They also did not supply pool towels - we did buy or rent extra towels from the front desk anyway though for use later in the trip. Perhaps the pool season was just over and they longer do anything with it. Im not sure. There must have also been some heavy rain before we came because the drive to our location was rain rutted dirt roads that were so bad they would crack an axle if you went over them too fast. Thanks goodness we had rented an SUV while in Italy otherwise it may have been un-driveable. At the end of the day, this place is brilliant for people with kids. The activities they offer and the size of the property, its restaurant and other amenities are designed to offer families a wine country farm experience - but you definitely need to bring everything with you. It may not be the best place to stay if you are foreign travelers like us who were traveling for a month. We don’t' have room for bath towels and all the things we needed to really make it home. We also experienced that upon check-in, they do not tell you that they see you've signed up for X, Y, and Z activities and here's how you get to them and what you need. Had we not asked follow up questions several times about everything, no one would have told us where to go and what to do. Information is not simply offered up - you have to inquire about everything. This included how to get hot water in our unit. The first day there we tool cold showers because we didn't know we had to flop a switch on the wall to get the hot water heater to work. Wouldn't you turn that on for arriving guests or tell them about it? Our billing was incorrect at checkout as well, but they rectified it, so you just need to double check everything. I think the Agriturismo business is primarily a farm business that is welcoming people into their world, which is amazing. So you get a farm experience and the cost of the stay there was unbeatable. I think it cost $700 for 8 nights with breakfast. I do recommend this place especially if you're a European local and want a family get away. We were one of the few American couples on the property while we were there, so I assume we were not their regular guest and fairly uneducated as to how it works and what to expect. We met a lot of people from Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Ukraine, etc. They likely all knew what they were getting into and rented the larger villas and brought everything they needed to "camp" on the farm. The restaurant was really good and very impressive for where it was in the middle of the country side. Bravo to Chef and team! This Deiacceroni location also served as a middle point for excursions to Volterra and other surrounding cities like Pisa. You have to have a car though.. thankfully we rented one for the entire month. We almost didn’t and would have been stuck in our dark apartment on top of the hill alone with no way to get anywhere at all without it. I do feel that if you're renting an apartment out at any price, the basics for inviting someone into that space should be covered. Provide toilet paper, soap, working light bulbs so we're not in the dark, and a space that is entirely clean without cobwebs hanging from lights. I try to write my reviews so that they highlight was is wonderful and there is a lot that is wonderful about Diacceroni - in fact some locals told us that its known to be one of the best Agriturismos in the area. Hopefully some of the things we encountered will help them think through American tourists that might not understand what they need to do to have a successful stay here. Again, I can't reiterate enough how kind and wonderful everyone at Diacceroni was. We had an experience that is worthy of sharing and reflecting on and that is the most important part of the journey for us.

We stayed at Diacceroni for 3 nights on our 3-week honeymoon. We stayed at several amazing hotels but there is only 1 Diacceroni. When booking our stay in Tuscany, I knew that I wanted somewhere that offered everything onsite and Diacceroni checked all of the boxes. They have a restaurant and a pool (actually 1 per location) and offer cooking classes, truffle hunting and horseback riding. We booked all of those experiences! We loved each experience - the cooking class with Claudia was so much fun, the truffle hunting / tasting was very hands on (our dogs found 4 truffles) and the horseback ride offered stunning views. We were also there for the Saturday welcome dinner and that was an enjoyable experience with great food. But what really sets apart Diacceroni is the people - everyone has a smile on their face but none bigger than the owner Massi - you can just tell that he loves hosting people and checked on us multiple times. As for our room, we booked the 4 bedroom suite in Pelagaccio because we wanted the privacy of having a place to ourselves. I would note - and we were warned by Diacceroni staff ahead of time - that we did not have a car which is not advisable. But we booked Pelagaccio because there is a country path that takes 20 minutes to get to the main location by foot. Everything at Diacceroni was amazing!

We stayed in The Villa for 2 weeks. We were 3 families with smaller children, and we all had an amazing Stay. The Villa is Big, nice and cozy, The view is stunning, and The pool is fantastic. On top of this, the staff is so great - we had the best service, everyone was so nice to us, and they helped us with everything ❤️ our son had 8 years birthday during the stay, and the chef made a surprise birthday ice cream cake - and they came and made pizza with the children in the pizzaowen. In general the staff went out of their way to make our stay better. we will definitely give our best recommendations⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a lovely truffle hunting experience with my husband, surrounded by lovely nature, beautiful animals and warm and open people who love what they do. The team was really professional and caring about each visitor’s experience. The place is absolutely authentic and beautiful, but at the same time really comfortable. Truffle hunting was a great fun and challenge at the same time, with adorable and professional dogs we managed to find 3 truffles in its’ absolutely natural state. The place is now our must-visit to stay longer and enjoy other activities available :)

Spent a weekend here with my family and we had an incredible time. Such a beautiful location, surrounded by mountains, and close enough to many beautiful towns and cities in Tuscany. The food in the restaurant is all fresh and so tasty! The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the play area was perfect for the kids. 100% recommended if you are visiting Tuscany!

I found this agriturismo on the internet while traveling with my parents across Tuscany and we were so glad I did! The location is extraordinary, the staff, the food, the horses, everything about it is quintessential Tuscany. We loved it and we'll definitely be back.
